Daisy’s POV I had successfully avoided the quadruplets for the past few days, but unfortunately, I could not avoid them today since we were leaving for the holiday trip. Today was December 23rd, two days before Christmas, and the start of our two-week trip to a small island in the Redwood Pack. We would travel by road, crossing a long bridge that connected the Redwood Pack to the island. “Are you ready?” Gabriella poked her head inside my room. Her green eyes darted around as she did a quick inspection. Gabriella was the opposite of her twin sister. Among everyone in this royal household, she was the only one who made me feel like I didn’t have to be on my guard around her. Well, we weren’t friends and the longest conversation we had shared was when we were paired to work on a school project together. But for some reason, she made me feel at ease, maybe because she didn’t look at me like I was beneath her like the rest of the royal kids did. “Yeah, all set,” I answered, swiftly pulling my luggage off the bed and giving her a tight smile. “Cool. Wanna ride with me? Everyone’s downstairs already, and according to Luna, we’re only taking five cars, so I wanted to know if you would be okay sharing a ride with me. " She tilted her head questioningly, and her long, wavy brown hair tilted along with her, glowing under the sunlight. “Yeah, I would like that,” I said in relief; I was glad I wouldn’t be stuck sharing a car with any of the quadruplets. Gabriella grinned at my response before exiting my bedroom. I paused at my door, suddenly feeling scared to go out. What if the quadruplets were angered that I tried to reject them a few days ago and planned to punish me? I pushed that thought away and made my way downstairs, joining everyone outside. My eyes quickly found the quadruplet brothers, who were loading the cars with luggage along with Michael. I felt my heart do a backflip when I saw Nathaniel’s biceps flex as he effortlessly lifted one of the suitcases. Heat crept up my neck, and I quickly looked away, silently cursing myself for letting the mate bond toy with me. “Hey, let me get that for you,” Gabriella offered. She slid my luggage out of my hands and strolled to where the boys were. Not even a minute later, Georgina and Mira came marching towards me with annoyance written all over their faces. “Why were you staring at the boys like you’re interested?” Georgina spat angrily, her hands covered in expensive fur jackets crossed and a scowl plastered on her glossy pink lips. Her green eyes narrowed at me accusingly. “In case it wasn’t clear enough for you, we already called dibs on them first, so you better stay away from any of the quadruplets,” Mira, the beta’s daughter, Georgina’s best friend or, instead, dare I say Georgina’s minion, warned snarkily. “I’m not interested in any of them; go find someone else to bother,” I retorted, getting bored of the conversation. Georgina raised one eyebrow, shocked by my reply. “You’ve grown a smart mouth, huh?” Georgina scoffed. “You really must have forgotten your place in this pack; Luna Skyla won’t be there to come to your aid when we get to the villa. You might want to watch your back; otherwise, there’ll be consequences,” Mira threatened with a malicious smile, her black eyes filled with fury. I was used to their taunts, but what pissed me off even more was that they were right. With omega blood, I didn’t stand a chance among the beta and gamma daughters, let alone the combination of both. Swallowing back an insult that threatened to escape my lips, I replied, “You can have them; the quadruplets’ love life is none of my business.” I felt a pang of pain in my heart when the thought of the quadruplets, Mira and Georgina being all lovey-dovey with each other, crossed my mind. Why was I jealous if my mate ended up with another girl? I shouldn’t care since I hated them! I clenched my fists together, trying to divert the jealous thoughts to the pain from my nails crushing on my palm. Mira cracked a low giggle while Georgina's lips curled into a mocking smirk. “You came to your senses?” Mira jeered quietly. “I knew you would. You do know your place, after all,” Georgina complimented in a mocking manner. *** We’ve been driving for about six hours with only a few words exchanged between me and Gabriella. The sun had started to set and I was already really exhausted yet we still had long miles left. The sound of a loud ringtone interrupted Gabriella mid-sentence. “It’s Donovan,” she announced after checking the caller ID. I glanced at her curiously while she answered the call before putting it on the loudspeaker. “Hello?” She asked. “The guys and I are pulling over here. Michael thinks this area is a good camping spot,” Donovan informed us. “Pull over by the tall tree before the connecting bridge starting point,” Donovan instructed. “Got it,” Gabriella answered, and Donovan hung up immediately. When I parked the car and Gabriella and I stepped out into the woods, the others were already settled in our temporary home for the night. The harsh night air hit me hard, and I shivered from the cold. “Let’s get some woods to make a bonfire, Nate,” Donovan suggested, not yet noticing I or Gabriella’s presence. Nate nodded in agreement and stood up from his spot to join his brother. “I’m coming with,” Nicholas huffed in annoyance and quickly stood up right after Mira had taken her seat annoyingly close to him. He threw Mira a harsh glare before joining his brothers. “Me too!” Christopher called. Micheal turned to look at us, seeming out of place, before quickly taking the path the quadruplets had followed without uttering a word. Gabriella and I walked closer to where the two girls sat on the fallen tree with scowls on both their faces. “You’d age really quickly if you keep on scowling like that,” Gabriella snickered, settling beside her sister while I sat on the other fallen tree opposite them. “Did you see how Christopher treated me?!” Gabriella snapped in annoyance. “He left like my presence irradiated him! He didn’t even say a word to me during the six-hour car ride, no matter how hard I tried to start a conversation! How could he be so cruel to me??” Georgina vented in anger, her cheeks puffy and eyes red like she was on the verge of crying. I almost felt sorry for her because of how devastated she looked, but the part of me dancing for joy in my head overshadowed that. “Sounds a lot like he’s just uninterested,” Gabriella deadpanned, completely used to her twin's tantrums. “Uninterested?” Georgina scoffed; unless he’s gay, it doesn’t get better than me. I’m attractive and have a good background to complement his status,” Georgina boasted. And that went the little atom of pity I felt for her. Gabriella rolled her eyes at her sister’s dramatic performance before rummaging on the box at our middle in search of food. “He’s not gay” Mira murmured sadly. “Nicholas avoided me in the car also and when I tried flirting with him he said something heartbreaking…” Mira began. A lone tear escaped her eyes but she quickly wiped it off before it could cause any damage to her make up. “What did he say?” Georgina urged. I paused now more interested in their conversation not caring if it made me look like a creep by getting entertained from watching them lament in pain. It’s not like they tried to hide their conversation anyways. “He told me he already found his mate. He and his brothers met their fated mate already,” Mira whispered, like she was revealing a top secret. Gabriella’s jaw dropped in shock and choked on her bottle of water. Georgina gasped, her face pale as though she’d seen a ghost. “W-what?” Georgina stuttered, she looked like she was on the verge of a panic attack. Unable to contain my laughter from their overly dramatic reaction, a snicker escaped my lips. I quickly slammed my hands to my lips when the girls attention settled on me, staring with suspicion. “Wait a minute- I heard you whisper mate the other day. So you lied when you told me I heard wrong?” Georgina accused, her shock depicted replaced by anger once again. “You didn’t look shocked either when I said it. So you are mated to the quadruplets and thought it would be fun to laugh at us right?” Mira gasped. “Daisy, is this true? The quadruplet alphas are your mate?” Gabriella asked, her eyes were still wide in shock but unlike her sister and Mira who looked angry, she looked excited and eager like I was about to drop the biggest tea of the century. “Yes, it’s true” I heard a familiar husky voice answer before I could. I turned around to see the quadruplets had returned with some freshly cut out woods. Their chests heaved, and sinfully that only made them look hotter. “Daisy is our mate” Donovan confirmed, his hazel eyes glued on me.
