The Rogue's Redemption: His Scarred Mate

Chapter 3.

Zodiac POV.

It has been months and still nothing. I have engaged with a few rogues, and seeing that they were evil fuckers. We slaughtered them. Again, no sign of this black wolf. Maybe he died in a fight with other rogues? I’m starting to think he is, in fact, dead.

I sit on the steps of my humble cabin. Watching the sunrise as the animals wake up from their hibernation. It is spring now. Ċarnage yawns and stretches in my mind as she wakes up.

“What a beautiful sight.” She says and I hum in agreement with her. It is beautiful. The world slowly waking up.

The sky is bleeding with lilacs, pinks, and oranges. I hear the tyres on the dirt path that leads to my cabin. Ċarnage growls as I stand up and watch two big black SUVs stop and the doors open and I growl in warning as my fangs descend and my claws lengthen. I watch as the men in black suits wait for the person to get out.

No, I know that scent. Why now?

“Miss Zodiac Jones?” The man walks closer to me as he is flanked by his men. I turn and walk towards the door of my cabin. I have nothing to say to him.

“Zoe, stop! You are being summoned.” I stop, my hand resting on the handle of the door, as I turn to face him. The gamma of my old pack and my mom’s second chance mate. Daryl Henderson.

“I have nothing to say to you. Now you are trespassing on my land and if you don’t leave, I will send what is left of you to your pack.” I say with a growl to my tone.

“The new alpha has requested your immediate return to the pack. Your mother also wants to see you.” He says to me and I turn to face him. Ċarnage bristles under my skin.

“I don’t have a mother. As for your new alpha, tell him to go and f**k himself. I am not a member of that pack anymore and I will not be commanded. So run along like the good little gamma you are.” I say to him with a smirk on my face.

“He wants you to kill Lucas for what he did to you six years ago.” I chuckle and shake my head.

“Tell him to do it himself. There is nothing there for me.” I say as I open the door when I’m grabbed from behind and I shift. As I land on my paws. My open jaws around the throat of the gamma as I pin him into the dirt.

“Please Zodiac. Just come home. You can’t run forever.” I growl at his words. I’m not f*****g running. Ċarnage is in a rage and so am I.

“I’m not running.” I say as I step back, but put my front paws on his chest and put my weight into it. I’m big, bigger than a beta. I don’t know why. But I am.

“Ok, you’re not running, but you will be coming with us,” He groans out as I feel his ribs bending with the pressure I’m putting on his chest. One push and his ribs will break, piercing his lungs and heart.

“Make me.” I say as I lift my paw, my claws visible. When I’m hit, I yelp before turning to see red feathers sticking out of my rump. Fuckers. I rip the dart out and charge at the man holding the gun. But my steps falter as I fall with a huff as I shift back into my human form.

“I’m sorry Zodiac, but it’s time to come home.” Is the last thing I hear the gamma say as I’m swallowed by darkness.

I wake up in the back of a vehicle. I look to the side and hear the gamma talking on a phone.“Yeah, we are only ten minutes out. She is now awake.”

I scowl at him and he smirks at me. Asshole.

“Ok baby, I will see you soon. Love you too.” He says, ending the call, and I look out of the window.

“That was your mom. She wants to see you.” I scoff and ignore him. Just wait until he leaves this vehicle. I will rip him apart.

We pull up at the silver claw pack and it has changed so much. Everything looks bigger, better, shiny even. The members are all waiting and I feel sick that I’m back here. The doors open and the gamma gives me a look as I step out of the SUV.

I look around. I will not show fear. I am not the same dead-eyed freak I was when I left here. I glare at each person until they lower their heads.

“Zoe.” my mom says as she runs towards me with tears streaming down her face. The face that not only I have but Meghan had, but I dodge out of the way and grab her around her throat.

“Don’t even think about it. You are dead to me.” I release her with a shove as she staggers back into the arms of the man she abandoned me for.

“Please, Zoe, I’m …” I growl at her and she whimpers before she bursts into tears.

An aura strong and feral hits me, but I don’t whimper or cower. If anything, I welcome it. I lift my head and see a tall, broad man with dark hair and silver eyes watching me from the pack house steps. The woman Luca f****d and marked in front of me at his side. I growl at her and she looks away. She looks rough, thin. Good!

Ċarnage whines in my head, which is unusual. Maybe seeing that w***e is making her sad?

“Second chance mate!” Ċarnage says and I look at the man, the new alpha, and he is looking at me with sadness in his eyes, but it quickly goes. Now replaced with steel.

“I, Zodiac Jones, reject …” He moves fast, placing his large hand over my mouth as I glare daggers at him.

“No, you don’t.” He says and I bite his hand and he groans but doesn’t let me go. So I fight him. When he grabs me and restrains me.

“Keep fighting, little mate, and I will turn that juicy as f**k ass of yours red. Now behave and come with me.” He says in my ear and I shiver as his bare skin makes contact with mine. Mother fucker!

“f**k you, you are not my alpha. I am not part of this s**t hole pack. I am a lone wolf and you can not command me. So f**k off.” I snap at him when he growls in warning, and I growl back before he smirks at me.

“Feisty, but no matter. You will learn your place soon enough. You will obey or you will feel pain.” I scoff and start laughing at this threat.

“Do your worst alpha douchebag. You have no idea the pain I have endured. Get off me.” I say calmly and he looks at me, taking in my scars. He reaches for them and I flinch back. Stupid Zodiac, show no fear. He stops and looks sadly at me.

“I’m sorry,” he whispers and I blink at him as he steps back and I’m so confused. What is happening?

“Go to hell alpha.” I say when he stops and looks at me with exasperation.

“Take her to the cells until she calms down.” He says when I’m grabbed and my mother sobs as the goons grab me, but I shrug them off and walk up to the alpha and spit in his face.

“I will reject you and when I do, I will slit your throat.” I say as he licks his lip where my spit landed and he groans.

“Delicious. I can’t wait.” He says with a purr and I blink in shock as I’m shoved forward and I walk to where the cells are located. I pass members and growl and they scream and whimper. I look at the woman on the steps and stop, pointing my finger at her before I run that finger across my throat. Flashing my canines at her.

“I will take great pleasure in killing you, too.” I spit at her feet and she looks like she will faint. I smirk as I walk with my head held high. I am no one’s mate, I am no one’s slave, and I certainly am not going to obey. Good luck alpha douchebag, you will wish you never summoned me here.
