“Mom, you even said it was urgent and that is why I rushed over here, only for me to come across this. What did he offer to convince you to come all the way here anyway?”

“I missed you and I thought it was good if I came by to see you but I have something I want to talk to you about, sorry about your accident, it seems like you have had a rough morning already, get well soon.” He said but Jasmine could not fail to notice the sarcasm in his statement.

“I am not even sure if what you e saying is genuine, but will you please just say whatever you want to say and get the hell out of my house please and mom will you please give us a moment?”

“Okay yeah sure, I will leave you two to talk, I will be in the kitchen, maybe you want some breakfast or something I am sure you haven’t heard your breakfast yet.”

“Yes Mom, just make anything for breakfast anything.”

“Okay, I will leave you two to it and don’t get feisty.” She said and walked out of the living room.

“So tell me what is it, what do you want?”

“I am glad you asked that question, so I will get straight to the point, I just came back in town the other day and I thought it would be best if we set the record straight and not complicate things for me because I finally got the life I have always been looking for.”

“Oh wow, that is great, I am happy for you, is that the reason why you left me?”

“Oh no honey, I didn’t leave you, I just left in search of a good life and I am glad I found what I wanted, that is the one thing I have always wanted in life, to get what I wanted in life, I had to get out of my comfort zone.”

“Oh wow, so you mean to say that I was your comfort zone, but I am glad you got it, so what brings you over to my place and what is this that you have to involve my mom in your bullshit, I am just doing this with you because I can’t move my body to throw you out of my place but your face irritates me, somehow, but now that you are here I think I should ask this question I have been meaning to ask for a long time since you decided to leave without saying goodbye, why did you do it?”

“As I said, I wanted to get a fresh start for myself away from you and I guess that paid, I just came here because I think we need that closure, I moved on with my life and I need the closure with you so you don’t come into my business, I moved on but it’s clear you still haven’t moved on and you might be a threat to y relationship with your dramatic accusations, I am here to make things clear, for closure and also collect my money back.” He said and Jasmine chuckled.

“Oh wow, I knew your a*s wasn’t genuine in the first place, I didn’t move on because I didn’t want to, I am working on my future right now, I don’t need any closure with you and what money will you be possibly talking about?” She asked trying to figure out what he was talking about.

“The money I lend you, you remember when your mom was sick and you needed money so urgently? Yeah, that is the money I want back and by the way, you have grown into a beautiful and ambitious young lady, if I could take back the time, I wouldn’t have walked out on you, on s but unfortunately, there is no us anymore and everyone has to move on, despite all that is happening.”

“Wait, why don’t you save me all these speeches and tell me how much I owe you, I don’t want to hear anything that comes from your mouth anymore, I am tired and I need to rest, can’t I just get this one moment for myself in my own house?”

“Yeah, I need my $1000 back and I will be out of here before you even know it, so just give me back my money.” He said and she chuckled then reached for her backpack, she counted $1000 and handed it over to him and he just Stan there staring at her wondering where she got all that money from.”

“And where did you get that cash from, I thought you were hustling and working on three jobs, where did you get this money from?”

“Why does it bother you where I got the money from, I am working and you think I am being paid stones or money, take your goddamn money and get the hell out of my house before I call the cops on you, get your a*s up and leave my place right now.”

“Leo what is Mom talking about, is there something that you are not telling me?”

“No, I think I should be on my way, it was nice seeing you Jasmine, I am glad you are doing well for yourself.”

“No you are not going anywhere until you tell her what happened and I am not talking about this again, so tell her right now or I will.”

“Mom, what are you talking about, what is going on with you, why did you ask him to return the money?”

“Mom, what the hell was that?” Jasmine asked and her mom sighed.

“I am sorry I should have listened to you I shouldn’t have brought him over to your place you know I thought he was changed and when he came to my place, he talked about him changing and wanting to make things right, I have seen how sad you have been over the two years that Leo left and I thought he would make you happy, I am sorry honey.” She said and hugged her daughter who winced back in pain.

“Mom, stop blaming yourself for something you couldn’t control, it is not your fault that dad left and not your fault that things are going the way they are now, I have been saving all along and I will be enrolling to finish my final exams in college then I will start looking for a decent job and please talk to your friend, I would like to go back to work as soon as this week.” She said.

“Okay I had already talked to her, it was just a matter of you deciding if you want the job or not, but now that you are into it, I will tell her that you are ready for the job.”

“Okay Mom, thank you I think I will be fine on my own, you don’t have to stay here with me, I have Tiffany, you have to go back home, I will come to visit you once I get back on my feet.”

“I know, but first let us take some breakfast then we can talk about that later.” She said and walked into the kitchen.
