“You said four. What happened to the other girl?” I asked.
“She… is dead.”
I pressed Paty for details, but she shook her head. “If you want the truth, ask the prince.”
Yeah, like I would ever do that. Still, that was a small hint to know Kayden was behind that woman’s death.
What did she do? No idea.
I sat on the edge of my bed, knees drawn up, arms wrapped tight around them. I wanted to figure out what happened to that she-wolf; it wasn’t just out of mere curiosity, but a survival instinct.
“You know who you have to ask.”
I clenched my jaw at my wolf’s comment.
“And he won’t tell us the truth,” I pointed out.
