Jade was calm and her voice was even as she gave orders. She was truly magnificent, and in the back of my mind, as I fought off rogues, I was proud to call her mine.
“Stay here,” she breathed out after a beat, just as I finished off the last of the 12 rogues. “The patrollers are dead anyways. Just let the attackers come to you. Don’t chase them out where they have the upper hand, where the smell of blood could confuse you. Here, you are organized. Here, you can see them. We can do this. Don’t let your emotions get the better of you.”
