Chapter 12: What now?

*Aiden Pov

    It's been 2 weeks since Eve moved in with me in the pack house and everything has been going smoothly for the most part. Eve has been trying to fit into the pack but i can tell that they aren't making it easy for her. As much as i want to i can't help her win them over, this is something she has to do on her own otherwise they will never respect her as their Luna.

It's also been 2 weeks since we have had a lead on my fathers whereabouts, it's like he has disappeared into thin air and that makes me f*****g nervous. The last intel i had from another pack in regards to my father was that he was gathering wolves from different packs turning them into rouges. This doesn't feel like something he has planned out of the blue. He has to have planned this for a long time. He just suddenly grew the balls to do it. But i still don't understand the obsession with Eve, has she done something to him for him to want her dead or is she somehow a roadblock to his plan somehow? 

    All i know is that i will do anything to ensure she stays safe, after all it's my family that has f****d up her life in more ways than one. 

"Aiden you in the office?"

    "Yea Eve. What's up?"

I look up from my computer just in time to see Eve walking in the room with a big scowl on her face. Great someone else must have done something to her. Every day it's always something. 

    "What's wrong?"

She looks at me with a confused look like i am speaking another language or something.

    "What do you mean? What makes you think something is wrong?"

Choose your next words very carefully Aiden. You just might piss her off. And from me to you she can be a little frightening when she's pissed.

    Sam shut the f**k up. I am tired of her coming in her complaining about how everyone is mean to her. She needs to learn how to stick up for herself. 

    "No your right i am upset Aiden."

"Surprise surprise who hurt your feelings this time?"

    "And what the f**k is that supposed to mean?"

"It means instead of coming in here to constantly complain about how no one likes you and accepts you maybe try and find a way on your own on how to fix that problem. Because i can't do it for you."

    "I NEVER ASKED YOU TO! You are the one that has been asking me how i am going with the pack! I have never come to you and complained! So how about you get off your f*****g high horse for a minute and think about the s**t that comes spewing out of your mouth you f*****g prick!"

Damn never thought i would hear her yell like that, i'm not going to lie it's pretty hot. 

*Evie Pov

    What the f**k is he smearking at, i just f*****g tore him a new one like it was nothing and he doesn't even bat an eye. 

Maybe he likes it when you talk to him like that. Actually he does and you would know that if you ever let him in.

    I don't know if i can trust him yet. I've never had anyone treat me the way he does and some days i am still trying to figure if it is a good thing or a bad thing. 

    Well Eve if you want my opinion i think that it is a very good thing. You two bring out the best and the worst in each other. 

    Right well moving on from that he still has a lot to learn before i can open myself up to him. 

    "Why are you smiling?"

"No reason. Why are you yelling?"

    "Because you are being a d**k for no reason. Must run in the family, your brother is a f*****g lunatic."

"Eve what did you need? You came in here for something."

    Looks like me talking about his family is a big no no. And that is one of the reasons i don't feel like i can trust him, he doesn't open up to me about anything. And yet he knows everything about my past. The only thing he doesn't know about is Scarlet. I still haven't been able to shift with her and i can only make up so many excuses. 

"I came to see if you heard anything new about your father? Any new leads?"

    "No nothing yet. He hasn't resurfaced for a few weeks but we will find him sooner or later."

Yea i know. I'm more worried about the sooner part, he can try to avoid the subject as much as he wants but i know for a fact we aren't ready if he decides attack. I am not ready if he decides to attack and i know for a fact that i am doing nothing but bringing the pack down at the moment. 

    "Evie i think that you should head to bed for the night. We have some visitors in the morning and we will both be there to greet them."

"Oh and who would that be?"

    "We have a couple of alphas from neighboring packs coming over and hopefully we will form an alliance if all things go to plan."

    "You really think your father is that much of a threat that you need help from other packs? Won't that make us look weak?"

"I am hoping they will see it as we all need this alliance not just us. If my father is gathering as many rouge wolves as we think he is then he is not just a threat to us but to everyone."

    This whole thing has gotten out of hand. Just a month ago i was a f*****g nobody that was barely making it through the day and now i am the f*****g Luna of the pack. And as dramatic as it sounds we now also have to deal with a war heading our way. 

"I will go to bed if you come with me. You have said it yourself that we haven't gotten any new information so there is nothing more that we can do tonight. Let's go to bed and prepare for tomorrow."

    I hope that didn't come out freaking cheesy. But the more he stress's himself out the more we are all stressed. Even if they don't speak to me i can tell that the pack are feeling uneasy. We have overthrown our psycho leader and promoted Aiden and i basically forced my way into being Luna. Aiden told me that it needed to be done and that he wouldn't have rejected me either way but looking back at it i'm sure that i could have found a better way to have Aiden mark me. I have been doing nothing but second guess myself and i hate it. I feel like i am being a whiny brat but i can't help it. 

    And Aiden has way to much on his plate as it is to deal with my insecurities. 

    *Knock*

"Sorry Alpha, Luna may i come in?"

    "Come in the Luna and are i finished."

"Sorry to interrupt but we have received word that the Alpha's should be here at dawn."

    "Dawn? Why Dawn? We agreed to mid-day."

"Well Alpha it seems that they have sped up their plans. The Alpha of the west said that they were attacked by your father a few hours ago."

    "And how many wolves did sway to his side?"

"None Alpha."

    Oh no i think i see where this is going and judging from Aiden's face so does he.

"John how many wolves were killed?"

    "If we understood him right they killed 30 woman and children along with most of his inner guards. But that's not all. The Alpha is under the impression that someone from our pack is helping your father and he said when he gets here he expects the traitor be turned over and executed."

    Well f**k. Things just went from bad to completely f****d.
