[Mason] "The therapist just called, she's asking for an address to drop off Jade's medications," I told them, pocketing Jade's phone. After the last episode she had, she just seemed to be getting worse, she never made it to the therapist's office that day and I got a call from the guard that drove her saying she had been admitted into the hospital. The doctor advised us to admit her into a psychiatric hospital but I couldn't do that. It was all so strange because Jade seemed so normal a few days ago, I wondered what was making her go into the state of spiral that she was in. We contacted her therapist and she was getting help online. "We can send her our old home's address," Clarice suggested. "Well, that is brilliant," I said and brought out the phone from my pocket. After texting the address to the therapist, I returned the phone back to my pocket. "Something doesn't feel right here?" Sirius said, confirming my suspicions. "I feel the same way too," Jay said and it was the first time he ever backed Sirius up on anything. "She has had meltdowns in the past but never anything like this, she's acting really crazy," Clarice said, breaking down into tears. "Let's keep this room on lockdown," Liya suggested. When she went to open the door to send the guards away, she found Nana standing awkwardly outside holding a tray of drinks. "I did not want to distract you but I wanted to bring you all some cold beverages." She smiled and pushed the tray into Liya's hands before awkwardly hurrying away. "Anybody else thinks that was a little suspicious?" I asked and the whole room nodded. "I mean we practically tortured her niece, she must resent us a lot for that," Liya said, dropping the drinks on the table and that was when it clicked. "Not us, Jade," I said and everyone turned to me. "Jade had always suspected the girl ever since she arrived here and it was because of her that the girl was put in the dungeon in the first place." "So you think Nana is capable of that?" Clarice gasped and covered her mouth with her hand. "Only one way to find out." I stood up and started walking out of the office. "We're coming with you." They said and followed me closely. I went to Jade's room and I immediately started looking around. "What are you looking for?" Jay asked. "I can think of two things that might be causing her hallucinations." "Drugs or wolf's bane." Liya finished my sentence in horror and began frantically searching around the room. Jade had been sedated so she was sleeping peacefully and she did not even stir while we were tearing the place apart in the search of clues. "It's in the tea," Sirius said after a few minutes of searching. He was holding up a teacup, I went to him and took a sniff of the empty cup and I gagged. "I was right, Nana has been drugging her," I said angrily. I still remembered all the times she made the tea for Jade, she had said the tea was brewed from special herbs and they had calming effects. How was I supposed to know that she was poisoning my mate? No wonder Jade had changed from a normal person to a hysterical person in just a matter of days. "Bring her to me?" I growled loudly and my voice shook the room. Jay stood in disbelief and anger, Clarice had already turned red and I was sure that she was waiting to pounce on Nana, Liya was livid while Sirius was unbelievably calm, but then he was always calm. "Let's all go outside, it's a surprise your loud growling hadn't woken Jade up," Sirius said and l d us outside. "Now that we know who is responsible, it's time to spill some blood." "How do we make her better?" Clarice asked. "Once she stops getting the ungodly dose of whatever was in that tea, she will get better," Jay answered her question. I was sick and tired of wolves betraying their Alpha and Luna that I really wanted to make an example of Nana. I ordered the guards that had captured her to take her to the main hall and invite everyone there because I was about to make an example of her. *** When I got to the hall, Nana was standing on the platform with her head bowed down and the rest of the kitchen crew were shaking in their boots behind her. "How many of you knew about the secret concussion this woman has been feeding your Luna?" I asked them angrily. "We're sorry Alpha, we knew nothing of her treachery, she always sent us out of the kitchen before preparing the Luna's meals or before brewing her tea." They fell to the ground in tears, shaking with fear. I wasn't going to be swayed by their tears though, I listened carefully to their heartbeats until I found one that was irregular, meaning she was lying. "You over there, step forward, the rest of you can leave," I ordered. "A-Alpha, p-please, I've done nothing wrong." She lied but I saw through her lies. "Do you want to tell me your role in betraying your Luna the easy way or the hard way?" I growled and grabbed her by the neck. "She deserved it, the Luna deserved to go crazy, she deserved to feel the way I felt all those weeks when Sasha was kept trapped in the dungeon," Nana shouted angrily. "Okay, so Sasha was also a part of this plot?" I asked menacingly, I dropped the servant girl and ordered Sasha to come out. "Please, I did nothing, I knew nothing, I would never do that to the Luna, she explained everything that happened and I felt so bad for causing such destruction, please, believe me, she saved my life, I would never do that to her." She knelt down before me and pleaded. Her heart rate wasn't irregular so I knew that she was telling the truth but I needed to use her to make her aunt pay. "What herbs did you drug the Luna with?" I asked Nana and when she ignored my question, I picked Sasha up by the hair and dragged her up. "I will not hesitate to rip out her throat if you don't answer me immediately." I put one sharp claw on her neck as I spoke. "It's an herb that causes hallucinations and delirium." She said immediately. "Don't hurt her, she had no path in this." "What herb," I asked her impatiently, I was running out of patience. The rest of the pack stood silently and in shock, as they listened to Nana speak, she was the last person we would have ever suspected of this act. "It's called the witch's poison." She told me. "The witch's poison, where did you get that?" "I-I was, this pers—" She dropped to the ground before she was able to speak further, and then she began to cough out blood. Her eyes glazed over and turned white then in a matter of seconds, her body turned cold on the ground. "No, no, aunty no, please somebody help me," Sasha screamed and tried to free herself from my hold. "She's dead," Sirius announced after checking for a pulse. "Just like Damian, it must mean that Nana has been a spy for the cult, all this time and we didn't know that we had a spy living under our roof." "I can't believe it." Liya gasped and looked at the body in shock. "I can't believe it." The rest of the pack muttered and they started murmuring amongst themselves. "Quiet!" I yelled and silenced them. "Nana was not who we thought she was, she was working for the cult, the division of witches that for some unknown reason wants to destroy the pack." "This is how the witches kill them to prevent them from giving out their secrets," Sirius added. "Take the body to the dungeon," I ordered even though I knew that we might not find the body the next day. "And take that maid as well, execute her immediately and let this be a warning to anyone who thinks to betray their Alpha or Luna." The maid kept kicking, screaming, and crying as she was taken away by the guards, Nana's niece was also crying and shouting as her aunt's body was being taken away. "Look, I believe you that you had nothing to do with all this but you must know that you can't stay here any longer," I told her releasing my hold on her. "You have till nightfall to pack your things and leave the pack, if you are spotted after nightfall then you shall be executed." "I'm so sorry for everything." The girl cried as she ran away from the hall. "You may all leave." "You shouldn't have done that." Liya chided me after the hall emptied out. "The poor girl has been through a lot and she has no one else in this world." "It was the best decision, Liya," Jay said holding her in his arms. "Don't stress, it's not good for the baby." "It's better to cut all the loose ends, I do think that you should have ended her life instead of giving her freedom," Sirius said. "Sirius." Clarice chided. "It's not the girl's fault that she has such bad luck, I do hope she finds happiness elsewhere though." "Are you sure waiting it out will be the best option for Jade?" I asked Jayden. "Yeah, trust me, all drugs work the same way." We began to walk back to the main house when Liya suddenly paused and had a look of shock on her face. "What is it?" We all asked immediately. "My water just broke."
