[Mason]
Adrien was giving me a lot of headache and it felt like he was trying to claw his way out of my body, I didn't really know why but I thought it had something to do with being around so many people without having anywhere to shift.
Adrien missed the pack house and the woods surrounding it, I couldn't blame him, I was already missing it too, especially after Jade started hanging out with Zara.
I knew she was safe because if she was remotely in danger I would feel it and I was feeling nothing now except Adrien whimpering and whining and it was driving me insane.
Twice I had tried to block him out but somehow he just unblocked himself either way, it was really frustrating but there was nothing I could do.
If Jade was around me, her scent would calm him down but she had gone with Zara for the college tour and I guessed she wouldn't be back until late.
When his whining got too unbearable for me, I decided to go through Jade's stuff and find her clothes that had her strongest scent on them so that he would calm down.
When I checked the bathroom, she had washed all her clothes and even the towel and there was almost no scent on them except the scent of the scented soap she had put in the washer to get them cleaned.
When I had no luck there, I decided to go through her closet, the clothes there had been steamed and sprayed so I didn't have much luck.
As a final resort, I decided to go through her suitcase, I was bound to find something that still had her scent on it there.
Immediately I opened the suitcase, I smiled and dipped my nose in it. It was covered with her scnet and her scent helped to calm my wolf down.
I kept sniffing her clothes like a pervert until I came across something that was wrapped in a paper bag.
It felt long and thin and for a second I almost allowed myself to believe that it was a pregnancy test kit but when I opened it, it turned out to be just a random pill.
I did not recognize the pill from any of the one's her therapist sent and I began to fear that she was hiding something from me.
"What if it's a grave illness?" I thought aloud but then I thought again, she was a witch, I did not know much about the mortality of witches but they had been around for so long, I knew that their bodies didn't work like that of ordinary humans.
They were not immortals and they could be killed but not by ordinary weapons or human diseases, they had to be way stronger than that.
Finally I decided to google the medicine so I could know what it was used to cure, maybe she had been having some issues again and she didn't want to bother me about them.
I knew that she had been sleeping well, I was the one who was having nightmares and staying up all night but she was fine and she was sleeping pretty well. She'd been really excited and she was really happy and relaxed here.
I logged on to the internet on my laptop and typed the name of the drug in the search icon, immediately I pressed the enter key, I wish I hadn't.
It was a birth control pill.
I staggered back from the laptop immediately and I closed it hurriedly, I felt a sharp pain in my chest and I immediately had trouble breathing.
Jade had betrayed me again.
I know I said I was willing to wait until she was ready to have a child, but part of me wished that she would just take in and get pregnant.
All this time I wondered why she had not gotten pregnant, so it was because she was using a pill, she never told me about the pill and I just felt so stupid staring at it.
Anger and hurt was not an emotion I wanted to be feeding myself because it would end badly for me, those were two extreme emotions and they triggered my wolf.
I calmed myself down and tried not to get upset or feel too bad. I wished I had somewhere to release my pent up emotions but I guess I would just have to keep them pent up.
I went to take a cold shower and then I soaked in the warm jacuzzi and then when my body was calm enough, I went to bed and drifted off to sleep and it was barely night time.

[Jade]
"You're a demon?" His answer intrigued me more than it frightened me.
Witches and demons had a weird kind of relationship from what I could pick up, witches could summon demons to do their work for them and demons could also send witches on errands, it was a kind of symbiotic relationship where each party benefited from the other.
If a witch wanted help from a demon, she could summon him or her through a sacrifice but she had to send him back with a payment that had been agreed upon or she would be taken to the demon world to serve there till she paid her debt.
"Yes, that doesn't scare you, I wonder why?" He asked.
His voice was really distracting, it was almost as beautiful as he was.
"I'm just surprised, I did not think demons were allowed to walk the earth." I said.
"Yes, you're right, demons are not allowed to walk the earth." He said.
"Then why are you here?" I asked him.
"Because I'm special and you are too." He smiled at me and I found myself smiling back at him.
"You won't happen to know someone in the demon world, would you?" I asked him.
"Why, do you happen to have a friend there?" He asked me, his eyes gleaming in the dark.
"A friend of mine was taken to the demon world." I sighed. "My cousin Jee, I miss her everyday."
"Well, I can't say I've heard of her but it has been a while since I've been back home." He said.
"I just want to know." I started swallowing back the surge of emotion I felt, talking about Jee was never easy for me. "Is she safe, how is she being treated there?"
"It really depends." He said.
"Depends on what?" I asked him impatiently.
"The rank of the demon who took her, how large her debt to pay is and how useful she is." He said.
"She's a green eyed witch like me and she summoned a demon to help her fight a very powerful abominable creature that was after her people." I explained immediately.
"She's looking at a long time in the demon world then, if not for life, the only way her safety would be guaranteed is if a demon of high rank were to take a fancy to her."
"For life." My heart broke as he said that.
"Don't worry, if she looks anything like you, she will definitely catch the fancy of a high rank demon, if not the demon lord himself." He said.
"Is that supposed to comfort me?" I asked him angrily.
"At least you can feel better about her wellbeing." He mused and then turned towards the water.
"Thank you." I murmured.
He just chuckled and after a while he turned to me and said.
"If you're ever back in New York, call me." He said and walked off.
What did he mean to call him?
He didn't give me his number, I just let go of that thought as I turned back to the car.
The car ride home was silent and I was so tired I drifted off twice only to wake up when we got to the hotel.
"Thank you, Hugo and see you tomorrow." I waved him goodbye and went inside the hotel.
I tied mine linking Mason that I was already back but he was awfully quiet, when I got into our room, I knew why.
My baby was sleeping on the bed and he looked so precious, I couldn't bear disturbing him so I just took off my clothes, took a shower and climbed into bed beside him.
All the other nights since we came to New York had been really peaceful but this night was not, I found myself in a frightening dream the moment I closed my eyes.
It was the same dream I'd been having for a while now and I thought it had stopped.
The dream was a merger of two of the most frightening dreams I had ever had.
First it was dark and I was scared and alone then something or rather someone started to chase me, I ran as fast as I could only to end up inside a pit, just before the out was sealed close, a beam of light shone and I was able to see the person who'd been chasing me and it was me.
I was chasing myself, as soon as the pit was sealed, I was transformed to another place where I was crouched down on the floor, it was still really dark but this time I was chanting a spell, I felt a deep pain when I stabbed myself in my sides and pulled out a really shiny orb, I was about to touch the orb when I woke up startled.
Mason was already up and he was packing his things inside a suitcase quietly.
I calmed myself, catching my breath before yawning, trying to get his attention, but that did not seem to work so I decided to just talk to him.
He seemed to be in a really weird mood, his aura was really cold and it was causing the temperature in the room to drop.
"Mason, you're awake." I said, smiling at him.
"Yeah." He answered dryly and went back to packing his back. "I'm leaving." He said and I looked at him in shock.
"Are you leaving without me?" I asked him.
"Well do you want to come with me, Jade?" He asked.
"What is wrong with you, why are you being like this?" I asked him confused.
"I found the birth control pill in your bag." He said and I closed my eyes in pain.
"I can explain, Mace, listen to me." I got out of bed immediately and went to his side, I tried to touch him but he wouldn't let me.
"I don't want to hear anything, Jade and I'm trying not to get mad because Adrien can't handle it so please just let it go." He said.
"Give me a second, let me pack my things, I'll join you." I told him as my body began to shake.
"No, this time I'll be going alone."
