[Mason]
The last phase of our stay in the land of darkness was to meet with the witches' council.
I was already getting sick of being in the land of darkness, my wolf craved to run free and feel the warmth of the sun on its skin once again.
He was also craving strongly for Jade and I felt myself getting hard just thinking about her. I wanted to hold her in my arms again, sniff her amazing scent while I buried my head between her thighs, and hear her heavenly moans when I buried myself deep within her feminine heat.
The man that was leading us to the land of darkness was very quiet and I kept feeling weird vibes around him. Anytime I got close to him, my wolf would fight me so hard for control and he just kept snarling and growling.
I had to fall back and so I watched the man and Sirius walk ahead. Sirius did not seem pleased to be around the man either but he had more control than I did and he didn't trust the man at all, but he would do anything for Zefa.
By the time we got to the council city, it was already nightfall, since the witches had a thing for the night, we had to camp outside the village till dawn and then go in the next day.
"Why didn't we go in last night?" I asked Sirius when he got up.
"They believe the dark nights only bring trouble and dark magic so they do not like to journey in the dark night and they do not welcome people into their cities or towns by that time," Sirius responded groggily.
"Does he talk?" I asked Sirius pointing to the wizard who was still asleep on the ground, I once again had to fight the urge to rip him apart in his sleep.
I guess Adrien just sensed pure evil oozing from the man.
"I don't know, I never spoke to him." Sirius shrugged.
"My wolf doesn't like this, my wolf doesn't like this a bit," I told Sirius, snarling a bit.
"Mine either," Sirius said. "But we need to be calm, they have Zefa, they might not plan to hurt her but they can if they feel threatened by us."
"Fine, we have to get back home soon, I don't know how much longer I can keep him at bay," I told him.
"We head inside now." The man stood up like a ghost and pointed to the city.
Without waiting for a reply, the man started walking towards the city.
Sirius and I got up swiftly and went after him. I was careful to stay a few feet away from him but Sirius walked beside him like before.
"Welcome, Lord Noz." The guards at the gate bowed to him before allowing us entrance.
It was like the people became on high alert when we entered, they were not as warm or welcoming as the Blackners and I doubted any of this was a camouflage.
They kept sniffing the air as we passed and they gave us cold glares.
"My great lord, I have brought the intruders as per your request." The man announced when we entered the palace.
Intruders?
I thought the man couldn't speak.
I glared angrily at him but he paid me no mind, it seemed like he was feeling more confident now that he was surrounded by many of his kind.
"I told you that they would show up." A voice said.
Sirius and I looked forward immediately and we saw Zefa glaring at the great lord.
What was it with witches and their titles?
Priestess, Great Priestess, now Lord and Great Lord, they were not being creative with their titles at all.
"We have come to discuss with you about—" Sirius started but he was interrupted by the Great Lord.
"I know why you're here, I will only listen to the leader." He cut him off rudely.
Sirius took a step back and nudged me forward, I frowned at him but I recognized the look in his eyes.
It was the don't f*ck up look.
"Okay, since you know why we're here, then I don't need to say much," I told the man, I was not about to address him with his lame a** title.
"We have nothing to do with whatever is going on on the surface, we don't welcome surface people here and you two shouldn't be here." The man frowned at me.
"My pack was being attacked by strange forces, I wasn't about to sit down with my arms folded and do nothing." I was really trying not to snap at him.
"Attacked." The man scoffed. "From what I gather it is your fear that is causing you to run, has there ever been a direct attack on you or the pack?"
"Yes," I argued angrily. "The Ice cream parlor fire was not an accident, I was just there a few minutes before it exploded and a wolf from my pack was killed with magic."
"Really!" The man laughed looking very amused. "You believe that magic can ever miss its target, more so dark magic, how naive are you Alpha." He mocked me.
When he said his last sentence, I couldn't control Adrien anymore and he growled loudly, he picked up the man he'd been meaning to rip apart and grabbed him by the upper arm.
I was still in the human body but my eyes had changed to golden and my claws had elongated, my teeth had also elongated and I could feel them itching inside my mouth.
My claws pierced the man's arm and soon the smell of blood filled the air.
"Don't you ever call me naive." Adrien growled.
All the witches in the hall gasped and moved backward, cowering in fear, the man I was holding unto was shaking in fear and he was already pleading for his life.
"Let him go." The great lord looked unshaken.
"Let him go," Sirius whispered in my ear and I let the man go.
"Go get him and clean him up." The great lord ordered his guards and they picked the shaking lord from the ground and carried him away, another set of guards or maids came and wiped the blood off of the floor.
"It will do you good not to anger my Alpha," Sirius warned him as I tried to cool down and take back control from Adrien.
"I am merely stating the truth." The man smirked. "The wolf who died brought death upon himself, if you were targeted as you say you were, my dear Alpha, you and that mate of yours would be toast."
This man was really testing my patience, he was doing everything in his power to make me lose control.
"Keep my mate out of your mouth." I glared at him harshly. "You're playing with fire, my dear great lord."
We both stared at each other coldly, the tension in the air thick as ice.
"We didn't come here to fuel more hostility, we came here to find an amicable solution," Sirius said, trying to clear the air.
It was too late though, I already hated this man and was already plotting his death in my head.
"What he said." I rolled my eyes when the man did not respond to Sirius.
"You've come here empty-handed, you have no proof of what you claim, it might just be some silly human playing tricks on you, why do you think I would consider going against my own kind, dark magic or not for the wolves without concrete proof." He said.
"Fine, I understand, there's no use wasting any more time here, it's very clear that we're not welcome here and you are not going to extend a hand in support to us, if you give us Zefa, we will leave immediately, peacefully and quietly," I told him, I was already tired of his b*llsh*t.
"Zefa may leave but you hurt one of my people, I can't let you go just like that." The man smiled and adjusted in his seat. "I'll let you go if you can endure one minute of mind control." He told me.
Mind control?
Jade had given me some potions to help prevent that and Zefa had blocked anyone from having access inside my head after the strange dream I had so I was pretty confident that I could do it.
Besides, I didn't want to have more enemies, especially more witches as enemies.
"Fine." I agreed and the man smiled at me.
"Well, well, well, let's see what you have in that pretty head of yours, Alpha." He mocked me.
I watched him close his eyes and open them back, for the first time since we got here, he stood up from his seat and stalked towards me, his eyes were black and they got brighter as he moved closer to me.
At first, I didn't feel anything, but after a while, I started feeling excruciating pain from my head, it felt like my head was on fire, my eyes turned golden because that was the only way I could take the pain and Adrien kept growling quietly.
I was aware that it would only take a swipe of my hands and his head would be rolling on the floor but since I wanted to avert a war, I had to grind my teeth and endure the pain.
After a while, he dropped his hand and the pain subsided. When I opened my eyes, he stared at me with a pained look, and his nose was bleeding.
He was drained.
"My great lord." His guards rushed to him and helped him up when he began to sway.
They carried him back to his throne and he took deep breaths before he spoke again.
"You're a good man." He spoke mockingly. "You can leave safely, bring me proof of what it is you claim and we can consider your offer."
"Thank you." My frown lessened but it did not wipe off completely.
"Alpha, you can call me Xander." The man smiled genuinely at me.
I narrowed my eyes at him and sniffed the air a few times. I was trying to see if I would smell deceit coming from him but he was being sincere.
"Great Lord, you can call me Mason." I smiled back at him though I almost cringed when I said his title.

"Why are you here?" I asked the man in front of me.
"Because I hate the wolves as much as you hate them." He told me.
"You have no idea how much I despise them," I shouted angrily and he flinched.
"I'm sorry if I angered you, I have some information concerning the wolves, they have been in the land of darkness for a while now but I suspect that they will be leaving very soon." He blurted out nervously.
I wanted to scream at him again because I could barely understand what he was saying but I knew that if I did his words would only be jumbled up more because of his fear.
Taking a deep breath and went back to my throne and took my seat.
"Calm yourself and speak clearly," I told him, I tried to keep from shouting but my words still came out a bit loud.
"The wolf leader and a fellow wolf who is from a witch's bloodline visited the Blackners and the council." He said.
"Why?" I frowned at Dinai, I had told them to keep our operation quiet, I didn't want them catching unto us so soon.
"They have come to seek the alliance of the witches against the dark cult, they want to find out who is responsible for the explosion in their world and the death of one of their own."
"And?"
"They have the support of the Blackners but the council does not grant them their support." He told me.
"The Blackners." I frowned and tightened my grip around the handle of my chair. "Maybe it was time for us to pay them a little visit."
