My phone vibrated in my pocket and I saw that it was Jeremy calling. Thankfully dinner was over and everyone was just hanging around the fire-pit roasting smores. I kissed Meg on the cheek and she shot me a soft smile while tucking her hair behind her ear. God, she was so f*****g beautiful.
I showed her my phone screen and she nodded and got back into the conversation with her family. I stepped into the house and made my way into Megs office. She had copies of her photos in frames on a shelf, all of her cameras and gear lined up like they were trophies. There was a computer with a big oak desk and pictures of Beckett and her family lined up on it. I pulled the soft chair out and answered the call.
