The three days Lisa stayed at Adrian's home proved to be the best she got to know some of his cousins and they actually got along well, Aunt Stephanie and Lisa's mom were great friends all along and now that Lisa was connected to her nephew, the bond was strong than it ever was.
Lisa traveled back home on 29th of December that year, she couldn't just wait to spend some time with her mom before schools opened and also her family.
Her mom was waiting for her at the stage when she arrived, Lisa was more than happy,she gave her mom a tight hug for about two minutes before she disentangled herself from the hug
"Hey mom, I missed you" she whispered
"I missed you more princess, I hope you had a safe travel" she asked
"Yes mom, I can't complain, I thank God I arrived safely"
"That's good,let's get you something to eat as we catch up on how you spent your time at Adrian's home,you look tired and famished"
"If course mom I'm starving you know I don't like eating while traveling"
"Of course I know my daughter, you mean you've never gotten a solution to that problem you always had?"
"No mom, I just use these pills that help me during the journey"
"Don't worry I'll take you to the doctor I think they might be having a recommendation,or something else you can use apart from those pills"
"Okay mom" she said and helped her mom pack her bags in the car boot, she sat short gun by her mom's side and adjusted their seatbelts.
It took them a few minutes before her mom parked her car in front of seasons hotel. They both walked in while making stories and chatting happily, they got a table for two at the furthest end of the hotel, they settled down and they were given a menu
"What will you take?" Kate asked her daughter
"Let me look at the menu first then I'll decide"
"Take your time miss ill be back in a few minutes to take your order". The waiter said and Lisa just nodded and mumbled a thank you.
"Mom I think I'll settle for fried crumbed chicken with chips and a glass of mango juice"
"I hope you're okay with that,I thought you're gonna order for something strong" she winked at her daughter
"Oh no mom I'm okay with this" she said and immediately the waiter approached their table
"What have you settled for miss?" The waiter asked
"Ooh bring me a glass of cold orange juice and bring her fried crumbed chicken with chips and a glass of mango juice" Kate said and the waiter left their table to make their order.
"So Lisa, how was the Christmas holiday at Kimani's?" She asked
"Not bad mom, I enjoyed, plus I got to meet some of his cousins"
"That's good I hope he's treating you well, he seems to be a cool guy"
"Of course mom he is, we met almost two years ago, I can't complain, I've been happy"
"Well that's good I'm happy for you my daughter" she said and the waiter approached their table again with their orders, she placed them on their table and welcomed them. Lisa immediately dug in her food,the chicken was delicious as she liked it that way, she also liked her chips served got and crunchy just like they did.
"By the way mom you wouldn't believe whom I met at Adrian's"
"What!whom did you meet"
"I met your friend"
"My friend? Which friend?" She asked astonished
"Her name is Stephanie"
"Stephanie, where did you meet Stephanie, it's been a while since we last talked though"
"I met her at Adrian's place apparently she's Adrian's aunty,you wouldn't believe that"
"What?! That's so sweet and amazing I can't believe she's related to your boyfriend what about her other sister,what was her name?... Ooh yeah she was called Tina was she around?" Kate asked hopefully.
"Tina as in Adrian's mom, she asked me for you number and said shell give you a call" Lisa said as she sipped her juice
"Jeez that's great news, I can't believe I'm going to reunite with my long lost friends and not to mention them being related to Adrian, they're good people and I'll just urge you guys to keep each other you deserve to be happy" may said as she sipped her juice slowly
"Of course mom, thank you"
"Anytime princess"
They took the rest of their lunch in silence and after that they paid for their bill and got out. They headed for their car and immediately drive off to the mall
"Mom we ain't going straight home?" Lisa asked looking rather confused since they were taking a different route
"No we're going to the mall, we gonna buy some groceries and shopping for the new year party and of course in gonna get you something for you birthday, I know I missed so many birthdays but I'm gonna compensate"
"Wow that's so good of you" Lisa said as she pecked her mom on the cheeks
"Anytime my sweet daughter" Kate said and winked at her mischievously
It was a fifteen minute drive to the mall since there was no traffic they were at the mall after fifteen minutes.
Lisa picked a trolley and drove it along her mom as they picked a few items from the shelves, despite the death if her family, Kate had been doing a job back abroad she had saved and she had quite a lot of money, together with what they had gotten from the safe, they were planning to open a law firm together with Ray, and since Ray had talked law and was a prominent lawyer in the country she was hoping they would sign in more lawyers.
She bought Lisa a beautiful red diner dress, a pair of nude black heels with straps, and a black matching Gucci handbag. Lisa was more than excited for the gifts and she thanked her.
After packing their shopping in boot of the car they drove towards their estate which was at the outskirts of town.
