(23) Happy birthday Lisa!

"Happy birthday Lisa!" Everyone in the room shouted.
The walls were well decorated with her name on it, "HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY LISA" with her favorite color of pink and white.
The room was full of people,she knew some of them but the rest she guessed were Adrian's friend's.
She stood transfixed on the ground not knowing what to do until someone tapped her back from behind, she turned back and saw the love of her life.
"Adriaaaan!" She screamed as hugged him tight, tears were already flowing from her eyes, years of joy, a mixture of emotions,I mean her boyfriend whom she thought had an accident is here with her and not only that, his family, her grandmother and to sum it all he held this surprise birthday party for her.
"Yes love I'm here, relax, I got you today, happy birthday my love" Adrian whispered in her ears as cameras flashed on their faces, Adrian's parents were well known in the city and no doubt it was gonna be aired on TV.
"I- I thought you had an accident"
"No baby, I'm here with you now let's celebrate it's your day"
He held her hands and walked with her towards where other people were.
Lisa walked and went to hug her grandmother.
"Happy birthday princess"
"Thanks grandma, thanks for coming, when did you arrive?"
"Yesterday honey,I spent the night at Adrian's home place"
"Wow so I was never told told about this ,you guys are bad" she sulked
"It's called a surprise party for a reason sweetheart now enjoy your day"
Everyone was busy with glasses,some were taking champagne, wine and others were taking soft drinks, there was music on the background, the mood for actual partying.
Tina walked to the mic and decided to give her speech, she asked for everyone's attention in the room.
"Hello, can I get your attention please" Everyone turned to face her and there was a pin drop silence in the room.
"So most of you know me but I'll still introduce myself to some of you who don't know me,my name is Tina, and the boy at the furthest end in my first born son but my second born,his name is Adrian, Lisa is my sweet princess, she's Adrian's girlfriend and soon to be wife I know so"
When she said that everyone laughed and some giggled, Lisa and Adrian were seated on the table at the other end together with other close family friends,when everyone was silent again, Tina continued.
"So today is Lisa's 20th birthday and we held this party for her to make her feel special and loved, I take her as my own daughter because she almost my daughter's age"
She turned her attention to Lisa and started addressing her.
"Lisa, this is your day, I want you to enjoy it like no other day, the party is meant for you so don't doubt, may you age gracefully and may God bless your forthcoming years and be successful in life, I bought you sometimes which I hope you'll like, I want you to know that you're the best daughter-in-law I've ever had, I know you not yet married to my son but I believe it's God's timing and I hope I see you wed my son,you make him happy, thank you for that, my husband is not yet I'm but he called saying he's on the way..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Vincent walked in and people turned around to see him.
"Ooh there he comes,as I was saying I bought you something and I hope you'll like it, can you come over please?"
Lisa walked towards her and she was given two boxes. One had a new iPhone Mac laptop and the other one had a new pair of a black off shoulder mermaid dress with matching black stilettos. She hugged her and Lisa resumed her seat.
Vincent walked to give his speech.
"I give you this car, I want you to woke hard and make sure you pass your college exams, Adrian you're my first born son and I have high hopes in you, together with Lisa, I want you guys to take this car as a gift from me,Lisa consider this as a gift from me as your dad"
He handed them car keys, it was a new sleek convertible sports car black in color, Lisa couldn't hold back her tears.
It was now Adrian's time to give his speech.
"Good evening everyone, I'm Adrian, Mr and Mrs Kimani's First born son, Lisa in my girlfriend and I love her so much" he turned his attention back to Lisa and focused on her.
"Lisa, from the first time I saw you I knew I wanted you and now that I got you I want you to know that I love and I'll always love you, I never knew what you'd have wanted on your birthday, but with the help of my folks,my sisters and your best friend Lydia we came to a success of this surprise party, I want you to know that this was not only my birthday gift for you but I got you something, I know you had really wanted to own an iPhone 11 pro and that's what I got you, happy birthday once more my love, and to everyone else, thanks for showing up and your efforts to make this fine to a success"
He handed her the box containing the phone and walked back to resume his seat. Lydia got her a dinner dress and some matching heels, after collecting all her gifts, she walked towards the podium to give her vote of thanks.
"Hello everyone, I just don't know what to say because I'm overwhelmed with the whole surprise birthday party idea, I'm humbled and very humbled, first and foremost, I want to thank Mr and Mrs Kimani for the beautiful presents, your help in making this coming to a success, I want to thank my love Adrian, I don't know what I can give you back but just know that I'm really humbled and I appreciate all your efforts and lastly to everyone who left their busy schedule and showed up to celebrate this day with me, thank you all and may God bless you, my whole family didn't manage to attend but I cat fail to recognize my grandma's presence" she asked her to come greet them and introduce herself.
"The party is now open,you can now enjoy yourselves and thanks for coming"
The party continued till late, although Adrian's parents had already left together with Lisa's grandmother, the teens were left behind.
Adrian knew how to drive so he drove themselves back to their house.
They had booked rooms for everyone who couldn't make it to go back home on that day including his friends from school.
As they drove, Lisa couldn't hold back her happiness ,she was all smiles throughout the whole drive
