Cassian and Anna were a blurr as they ran through the tunnels. As both figures meandered through the tunnels, the walls around them shook. Finally the ground became more stable underneath their feet and they both slowed their pace. They came to a locked door but Cassian easily kicked it open. As they came to a halt Anna looked up and noticed a large drain above them. Light began to quickly engulf the dark room as the morning sunlight began to appear. Cassian stepped into the light, taking in the warmth it had to offer. "Ah!" Ana recoiled back into a corner, trying to escape the scorching heat. She held the side of her face where the sunlight had touched it. Cassian turned around finally realizing what was going on, the light was burning Ana's frail skin. He looked up at the drain, there was nothing they could use to cover it. Cassian looked up at Ana's concerned face, he knew he had to act fast. He quickly took his jacket off and threw it over her, covering her upper body from the sunlight. She did not question his actions, she knew she had no other choice. Cassian picked her up gently and quickly made his way out of the lit hallway. His eyes widened as he realized all of the tunnels were filling up with light. In the distance on the right side of the the wall he saw a small door. He ran to it and kicked it open. It led to a small room with small metal pipes overhead. He quickly shut the door behind him and set Ana down. " You're safe, there's no sunlight here" Cassian reassured her. Ana cautiously removed the leather jacket from her and as the darkness engulfed her, she breathed a sigh of relief. " You're face! Let me see it." Cassian demanded. " There's no need, its fine. " Ana responded. " Let me see it." Cassian insisted. Ana looked up at him exposing the side of her face. To Cassian's shocked relief, the skin had healed and only a red tint remained. Cassian gently touched her face with his hand, admiring her soft but sharp elf like features. " Thank you." Ana said as she awkwardly stepped back. "The explosion must of been an attack. Why would the vampires strike right before sunrise?" Cassian took a couple of steps back. " I don't know. " Ana had a suspicion that her father was behind the attack. By now he would know she was gone, he would know she had betrayed his orders. Ramious would stop at nothing to find her, not even the cursed sun. The explosion was most likely an attempt to confuse the werewolves or simply just a warning. "They'll really amp up the search for me now." Cassian roared in frustration. He slammed his fist into the wall. His plan to escape had been ruined. " Ill have to go back before they find us." He sighed heavily. " You are leaving me here as a prisoner!!" Ana was well aware she was stuck in the room, until the night came. "Not as a prisoner. I am protecting you." He looked at her intently, " If I do not go they will find me, they will find YOU. I have to distract them." " Or you will bring them back here to me." Ana argued. "Have a little faith in this werewolf." He retorted back. The scene before Selena blurred and suddenly she was in another damp room. Small rays of sunlight touched the corners of the room, enough to see three figures standing in the middle of the room. "Ah he has returned. After the attacks, how convenient. And here we thought you had ran away with your tail between your legs." Kit's husky voice echoed in the room. " It is best he doesn't involve himself in such trivial matters. We can't loose our biggest asset." Caden countered. "What was the explosion?" Cassian asked. " It seems we have really pissed off the blood suckers." Kit answered. " Just an overzealous warning. It changes nothing. We will move forward as planned." Caden added, "We need to perfect our experiment as soon as possible. Once we do we will pay them a visit and I will finally take back the territory that was given to me by birth right. Ramious tyrannical reign will soon end." "And what will happen to the rest of the vampires?" Cassian asked. Kit laughed ominously, " They will all die. We will erratic them from this land!" Cassian's throat tightened and his mouth went dry. Kit was speaking of g******e. Cassian hated the vampires for what they had done to him but it was Caden who ironically had changed his mind. " They killed your family Cas, you should be happy for this. We will destroy the monsters that stained your life with their bloodlust." Caden spoke with vigor, and a smirk appeared on his face. A cold shiver ran down Cassian's spine. He looked away, unable to look at the man he once idolized. " You've changed Caden. I remember the days when you wanted to bring the species together. Now you want to kill them off. " Cassian spat the last sentence out with disgust. " I was mistaken before. That is no longer an option, Ramious's has made sure of it." Caden hated the vampires for their unquenchable thirst and their unyielding lust for power. But in truth it was Ramious who he wanted to destroy, because it was Ramious who had shattered his very being, the reason why Caden had gone into the deep slumber. Ramious had destroyed Caden's soul. "You can still redeem yourself. It is Ramious who you want, not the rest. Do not let hatred betray you." Cassian insisted. "Rest assured Ramious will die but first he will witness the fall of his coven, of his reign. And you are the key to that. You and your very special blood. So get with the plan Cassian! The sooner you get in line the sooner we will be free." Caden barked in annoyance. "In life one must be loyal to their kin not selfish." Kit added.
