Of Wolves and Dragons: Artifacts-Book Two

Chapter Thirteen

-Victoria's POV-

The creature swings at Zach, he moves out of the way just in time but the phone falls to the ground and breaks. The noises it makes creep me out, it almost sounds like a language but I have never heard it before.

I panic. I know I can’t use my power here with everyone running around, I might hit them.

Abel and Holly start to fight the creature, their speed is incredible and the way they fight in unison is amazing. It's like they know what move the other is going to make. Abel punches the Dajing over and over sending it flying up and Holly comes with a high kick, she kicks him down and pins it to the ground. I watch them in amazement.

“Go! If the barrier falls, you guys need to be out there to stop them.” Abel says and right at that moment, the barrier falls. We see it and then we see wolves rushing through the forest but we also see the headmaster already heading to meet them head-on with many of the teachers and students.

“Me and Nolan will find the pouch while Abel and Holly hold that thing back.” Marina says.

We nod at them and start to run out, we run through the hall but suddenly Isaac, Luke, Zach, and Parker are levitated almost like they are choking, and then something sends them flying back a few feet away from me.

“What?” I look back to where we were running to and that same lady we met in the town with dark hair and eyes starts walking towards me. Behind her, Erica and another witch I have never seen follow her.

“W-Who are you?” I ask walking backward.

“Endora.” She says and looks around like she’s feeling the air and smiles. “Perfect, the gathered magic here will do nicely.” That’s all she says then she lifts her hand towards me and a see-through force connects with me.

Erica and the other witch raise their hands chanting towards the guys keeping them down.

I take a deep breath feeling like everything is being drained from me. I can see this luminescent see-through energy go into her as if she was gathering the air around her into her.

I fall to my knees.

(“You need to get away from her!”) Archion shouts.

I look behind me where Isaac is getting up and trying to walk towards me but he looks like he is being weighed down, all four guys do. They crawl slowly towards me.

(She is siphoning you, get away from her!”) Archion shouts again.

(I can’t... move.) I tell him.

(“We need to break that magic she has on us. We can’t shift otherwise”) He says.

I close my eyes and move the wind at my will sending it with force towards her. Endora has a hard time steadying herself but she never breaks the magic.

(Dammit! If I use fire, I'll hit the guys. And earth magic would bring the whole house down.)

I try water magic. Freezing the water in the atmosphere around me is my only chance and it will freeze the guys but not kill them, It will give me time to get them out.

I close my eyes and start to use my magic but I only manage to get the temperature down a bit before I feel too weak to use my magic.

Endora smiles. “You are mine.”

My powers weaken. “She is... so... strong...” I say now almost lying on the ground. I can feel her sucking the life out of me. My head goes blurry and I know I am at my limit.

-Archion POV-

I am now in full control of her human body. Victoria is on the brink of death. I look at this Endora woman.

“There you are.” She says to me with a wicked smile.

“What... do you want?” I ask her.

“That body which you inhabit. I want it... and I want you.” She says.

Now I feel as helpless as Victoria was. I can’t do a single thing. I can barely move and I can’t seem to use Victoria's powers either.

I look back at the guys and they are a little closer but not by much, however, Zach has caught my attention. Instead of trying to get to Victoria as the others have done, he has managed to get to his knees and is now taking that black book he always has out. He opens it and reads from it out loud.

"After many adventures, they came to an Island. Unbeknownst to them, the island was inhabited by a CYCLOPS!"

(Is he... is he reading a story?)

I watch as he throws the book in between me and Endora. The book's pages shine and then something huge materializes in front of us with a bright light. A giant creature stands in front of us with its back towards me.

Endora's eyes go wide. “A cyclops?” She whispers surprised.

It zones in on Endora, Erica and the other witch, one swing of its arm sends them flying to the end of the hall breaking the spell.

Endora regains her composure quickly but when she realizes the spell is broken her face morphs in anger. “NO!!” She yells.

Luke and Parker quickly rush past me and knock Erica and the random witch out. Isaac is about to go for Endora but I hold him by the hand.

“Don’t, she is too powerful and dangerous.” I say. He looks at me confused but takes a step back.

Endora looks furious, she shakes in anger and her face has gone red. She takes a deep breath composing herself.

“I am not done with you.” She says staring at me. She lifts her arms up and chants. Smoke surrounds her and she vanishes.

“What?! What kind of spell is that?” Zach asks confused. “How did she just vanish like that?” He walks over to the black book and closes it, the cyclops vanishes when he does that.

I take a deep breath. “If that was who I think she was, then she is someone too powerful for any one of us to take.”

(Endora...) I ponder that familiar name.

Isaac stares at me studying me. “Why... why are your eyes gold baby?”

I look at him with an eyebrow up and then smile. “Because baby...” I mock the baby part. “...I am Archion.”

Isaac's face goes pale. “What? Why?”

Luke walks back to us also looking concerned.

“Because she almost died. She is too weak to surface. Well, to be honest... I’m not sure...” I stop and take a deep breath for what I am about to tell them. “I’m not sure if she's completely there at all.”

“What?! No, no she has to be.” Isaac stares at me with anger.

I lower my head. “I can’t feel her.” I say softly.

“That- that doesn't mean anything.” Luke says with a pained expression.

Parker rushes to us. “We need to help outside.” He says.

“He’s right, we'll deal with this later.” Zach says putting the book away.

I narrow my eyes at him. “That’s that artifact that was missing, isn’t it?”

He smiles sheepishly and nods. "I found it and was just studying it, that's all."

I roll my eyes not really caring.

We head outside with Isaac and Luke watching my every move.

(I truly do hope that Victoria is ok. Not just because I do care for her but... I don’t want to be stuck being these two men’s mate. I can feel that the bond that their souls have with Victoria's body is not broken yet and I do not!! Want to be mated with two males.)

I sigh looking at the chaos outside. We can see the wolves that attached us starting to retreat. We start walking towards the headmaster but from out of the windows in the house, Nolan flies out shattering it. He crashes to the ground grunting.

“Are you ok babe?!” Marina shouts from the window.

Nolan holds a pouch up. “Got it.” He says moaning in pain.

Marina pumps her fist. “Yes!”

“Are you trying to make a grand entrance brother? Cause that was a failure.” Parker says helping a disoriented Nolan up.

“HEEEY give me my face back.” Nolan says wobbling and sounding like he is drunk.

Parker rolls his eyes. “He might have a concussion.”

I guess having a concussion and seeing your own facial features on your twin might make him think that.

"...He..." I actually almost laugh at that.

We all nod agreeing with Parker.

We hand the pouch to Zach so he can deal with the Dajing creatures.

Once everything settles a bit, we head over to the headmaster who is delegating instructions to everyone outside.

The headmaster looks at Isaac. “Why did they retreat?”

We tell him about everything that happened inside the house and what their real goal was.

He nods. “Did you know her, Victoria?” He asks me.

I look at him. “I am not Victoria.”

He looks at me confused.

“That is Archion, something happened to Vic.” Isaac says looking away, his fist clench, and his jaw tenses up.

The headmaster looks at me surprised. “Oh! Ok. Well, let's secure our borders, and then we’ll deal with this.”

We all nod.

(I really hope that he’ll know what to do because all the knowledge I have acquired through my life has not prepared me for this. Living in a female's body and not to mention a human form.)
