-Archion’s POV-
My eyes shot open, I quickly sit up with a hammering pain in my head.
Isaac and Luke are kneeling down at my side with concern on their faces and everyone else is standing behind them looking down on me.
(...Archion ) I hear a soft voice in my head.
“Are you ok?” Luke asks.
I look up at them and even though I am in pain, I smile. “Victoria is trying to reach me.”
Both their eyes go wide. “Does that mean... she’s in there?” Luke asks.
I nod. “Yes, but she’s weak, I can barely hear her.”
“Ok, what do we do? What do you need us to do?” Isaac asks sounding desperate.
I shake my head. “Nothing, she needs to rest and when she is strong enough, she will take back control. Give her a few days.”
Everyone sighs in relief at this news.
“Alright, take her upstairs so that she can rest.” The headmaster says.
“Him.” I say looking point-blank at the headmaster. “I know that I am in a female's body but I am a him and I would appreciate if I was addressed accordingly.”
The headmaster clears his throat looking embarrassed. “Um, take... him upstairs so he can rest.” He corrects himself.
I nod satisfied.
“We will continue this conversation tomorrow.” He says. Everyone nods agreeing and feeling tired.
I get up and start to walk out with Isaac and Luke following me. As we make it upstairs, I can feel them glancing at me. When I look at them, they look away with a sad puppy face expression.
(Why the hell do they keep staring at me?)
We make it to the room and I head to Victoria's room but stop and look at them. They shift uncomfortably looking like they have something to say.
I squint my eyes at them. “No, I will not sleep with either of you if that is your question.”
“What?!” Isaac asks surprised.
Luke's face scrunches. “Eew.”
They both make faces of disgust.
“Then stop glancing at me, it is very exasperating.” I look away feeling annoyed.
They both sigh. “We can’t help it, to us you are Vic.” Luke says.
“I keep expecting you... her to... walk over to us and hug us or something, like she always does.” Isaac says looking like a wounded animal and pouting while Luke nods.
“For the love of the gods, get a grip of yourselves!” I shout at them and they both stare at me in shock.
I look down at the floor and slowly shake my head mumbling. “Two grown male Alphas acting like younglings, what in the nine heavens does she see in them.”
I stare at them and narrow my eyes at them. “You are stuck with me for the next couple of days and I swear if either of you gives me that pathetic moping face again, I’ll burn you to a crisp!” I shut the door in their faces and take a deep breath.
I look at the bed and it looks like the most satisfying thing in the world. Victoria's body is very tired, it has been a long day. I go to the window and open it, the moon is at its highest. I take a deep breath of the pine scent that comes from the woods and feel the wind caress my skin. The only time I get to do this is in dragon form and most of the time I am focused on a fight so I can't really enjoy it. When I am inside Victoria I can't experience anything through her. I can see and hear through her but those are the only senses I can use and most of the time I am asleep.
Once I am satisfied, I close the window and lie on the bed, relaxing my body.
(“Be nicer to them.”) Victoria says weakly in my head.
“I can't make any promises, they all exasperate me.” I say softly as my eyes close unwillingly.
----------
My eyes abruptly open to the morning light and I quickly sit up on the bed.
“Oh... mother of the gods! What is this pain?!” I shout holding my stomach.
I hear both Isaac and Luke run through the living room and almost bust the door open with Isaac jumping on one leg cursing under his breath as he holds his shin.
“What’s wrong?” Luke asks.
“My insides are...” I stop for a moment. “uuuuhhhh” I moan in pain holding my abdomen.
Luke gets nervous. “Uh... well... Vic started her...” He stops and looks at Isaac who shrugs his shoulders looking away. Luke sighs. “She started her menstrual cycle yesterday so... yea.” He looks around awkwardly.
I stare at them like a deer cut in the headlights.
I pinch the bridge of my nose and look at them. “You are telling me that the one time I get to have control of a living body again... this one time... I have to experience it from a female's perspective and everything that comes with it?”
Now they both shrug their shoulder looking away.
I close my eyes and let myself fall back to the bed groaning in annoyance and moaning in pain. They both leave and after wallowing in self-pity for a bit, I finally get up and decide to take a bath. I think to myself that maybe that will help me relax a bit. But once I took my clothes off and saw the bloody horror that was between my legs, I got even more stressed.
I sit in the bathtub feeling miserable.
(Hey, hurry up and take your body back... I don’t want it anymore.) I say in my mind reaching out to Victoria.
(“Sorry, I am still too tired.”) She says in a weak voice. I can feel her falling into the back of my mind to rest.
I sigh. “Never in a million years would I have thought that me, an ancient being born of magic itself, would be going through this ordeal. I rather face a Lich... or a Kraken than the horrors of being a female human.”
I spend a few hours in the bath not wanting to face anything else. When I get out and start to dry myself, I hear a knock on the door.
“Hey Vic-… I mean Archion. We got you some food.” Luke's voice comes through the door.
“Yes, alright. I’ll be right there.” I say. "How in the world do you use this little stick thing... are you supposed to just shove it in there?"
I have never in my life been this stressed.
When I finally figure it out, I finish drying and getting dressed. I head out of the room only to be met by all of Victoria's friends.
(I am used to solitude... this does not bode well for me.)
I sigh. “Greetings.” I say being polite. They all look at me as if I was a being from another galaxy.
“Hi!” Marina says cheerfully but walks behind Nolan.
“Here, this is for you.” Luke says putting a plate of food on the coffee table.
I plop myself on the floor and start eating. “Thank you.” I say with my mouth full. I hadn’t noticed how hungry I was. I haven't eaten at all in thousands of years. I forgot what food tasted like.
“What?” I say still looking at my food but feeling all eyes on me.
“Nothing. It’s just so... weird.” Parker says. “You look like her but your mannerisms are completely different.”
“I know, Victoria is completely uncultured.” I say.
“Yeah... sure... that’s it.” Parker says. I detect a hint of sarcasm but I ignore it. I am completely enjoying the taste of my food.
I feel this brooding aura near me. I look to my side where Isaac sits looking like he’s in a bad mood.
He gives me an irritated look and then looks away huffing.
(Complete juvenile.)
(“He just misses me.”) Victoria says in my head.
“Oh, now you decide to show up? Could have helped with what was happening to me this morning and in that bathroom you know.” I say out loud, annoyed.
They all look at me like I am crazy.
“Are you okay Archeon?” Holly asks.
“Yea just Victoria decides now to chime into the conversation.”
“Is she there? Is she okay?” Luke asks now completely alert.
“When will she be back to normal?” Isaac asks.
("I can’t seem to take control yet but I feel like I am getting stronger.”) She says and I say exactly that to them.
Isaac visibly relaxes at that.
(I miss them, tell them I miss them.) She says.
“No.” I say shoving food in my mouth.
(“Yes, please, I can see how they are in pain.”)
“They are not children. They will be fine!” I say in a stern tone.
(“No! Tell them!”) She shouts at me.
“If you are this strong to shout at me, then take control already!” I shout at her.
Everyone keeps staring at me wide-eyed as I argue with Victoria.
("I can’t! Tell them!") She shouts again.
“No!” I shout back.
(“You stupid lizard!”) She yells in my head.
“I am not a lizard! You brat!” I shout back and I hear Parker and Zach stifling a laugh.
("You sure look like one!!")
“Maltafaza!” I curse growling and breathing hard.
Victoria doesn't respond but not because she doesn't want to but because she is too tired. She drained herself and now is dormant again.
Marina looks horrified. “What... what was that gibberish?”
I roll my eyes. “My native language.” I say irritated and massaging my temples.
“Dragons have their own language?” Marina asks surprised.
I look at Marina completely irritated and she gives an awkward smile, hiding behind Nolan again.
(This girl needs to stop talking.)
