“FOR f**k’S SAKE, RIEKA! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?” Seth snarled after me as I stepped into the hall, directly into the creature’s line of sight. I didn’t even realize what I was doing until Seth’s voice echoed through the hall. I looked back at him startled and to my feet where I was standing and my head snapped back up towards the lowly growling beast in the dark down the hall.
I couldn’t believe it. How was this possible? If this was really what I thought it was, then we were as good as dead. I looked back to where I was standing again, and I swallowed nervously.
