The drive back home was strained. I can’t believe I said that to him.
Shit… I close my eyes wishing I could just disappear…but I am stuck in this damn car with him.
Whatever possessed me to say that?
I have a heart, I said…as if he doesn’t know that I do. But the way he’s been treating me it feels like he doesn't.
I take a deep breath, and then look out at the speeding trees as the car picks up speed.
Vic doesn’t say much after my outburst. Not that I wanted Him. Whatever happened at the resort will stay at the resort and I will move on with my life as I should have done the minute he told me that we couldn’t be together. If only it was that easy, I say to myself as my heart suddenly aches.
