(Kamaris)
I looked down at the beaten and bloodied face of my so-called brother. My rage simmered just beneath the surface as I never wanted to kill someone so badly in my life. This anger went beyond the one I felt for Theia..and if I didn't have Amira, he would be dead.
I would rip his heart straight from his chest and make him watch as I crush it with my bare hands.. Arubos was hard to control..the fact that our mirror soul had been in danger yet again..it pissed him off beyond belief.
After Amira and Namoka left, I had them followed. I didn't want to freak Amira out, but there was no way in hell I was letting her go without being constantly watched from this point forward.
Gideon slumped to his side, coughing loudly before spitting out blood onto the floor.
"Just give her up now. Then it will all be over." Gideon panted, the audacity of his words making me swing my foot forward, kicking him in the ribs.
His skin was pale and his body was covered in a cold sheen of sweat. My shadows worked their way through every inch of his body as he trembled uncontrollably..and yet he still had the audacity to say this s**t.
"Amira is never leaving my side." I hissed, the possessiveness I felt making my hands ball into fists as I fought so hard not to kill him.
Suddenly Alden stepped into the room, making me step back briefly as my eyes snapped to his.
He nodded once, letting me know that my Amira had gotten home safe as I let my head lean back before sighing and rolling my neck.
"I hope you realize what you have just done..threatening my mirror soul yet again." I stated, making Gideon stiffen before turning his head and staring at me. His eyes were bloodshot as they widened in disbelief.
"W..What did you just say?" He breathed, disbelief filling him as I stepped forward before crouching down beside him.
"You heard me. Amira is mine..she always has been..and yet you.." I couldn't help but pause before dark laughter escaped me.
"YOU think you can take her.." I added roughly, my arm snapping out as my hand clasped around his neck.
"That's impossible! The Sybil..they said you didn't have one because of your w***e mother.." I tightened my hand, my head tilting to the side in a warning as Gideon began to kick his feet, trying to inhale some much-needed air.
"It was her the entire time. She has always been mine.." I stated, letting my claws slip out and pierce his skin.
"And now Gideon..I won't kill you as much as I want to..but I am going to make it so you wish that I had. Not only are you a traitor to the dark lord...you have illegally been abusing black magic."
"I was supposed to be the dark lord!" He choked out as I couldn't help but smile in his face.
"Then why did it choose me? Father always knew who would be next in line..think about it.." I whispered, making Gideon's eyes widen as I slowly stood, letting him drop to the floor.
Arubos kept his shadows wrapped around his throat, not letting up as I turned to walk out of the door.
"I have sent word to the ancient council. Your trial will be held in two weeks..then you will finally get everything you deserve Gideon." I said while looking towards Alden as he stepped to the door and opened the door smoothly, letting me walk out.
Not before I heard Gideon yelling though. The weight of the situation finally setting in.
"You can't do this!! Terik will stop you..he is coming for her Kamaris. Then Mother will kill your precious Amira but not before I have my way with her!" He shouted and was quickly silenced as Arubos squeezed the air out of him, knocking Gideon out cold.
"We need to get on with the shield ceremony..I want it done as soon as possible." I instructed while turning down the hallway towards the main entrance.
We would take care of Gideon first. Then I will handle Dalia..
The council consists of every lord and lady from each region and the scholars who live in Evren. They will put Gideon on trial and chain him to the stone slab where the gods will enact their judgment on him.
Now that we have him confined, all we need to do is bring him there and I will speak with the others about what is going on.
Once everyone knows Amira is my mirror soul, nothing can keep her from me.
But I can't let her be involved..if she goes there and the ancient Sybils read her soul..then the secret will be out..then my Amira will be in even more danger.
Dalia is a direct threat to me..but there are those out there that would do anything for that type of power..to mate with an original and produce an heir..that alone makes Amira the most desirable Athuney to ever live.
Arubos grew furious with just the mere thought of another taking what is ours..no one else can have her..
"I want all the Dolus soldiers that accompanied Gideon dead. It is time we send a message and remind people exactly who they are messing with. I might not be able to kill Gideon..but I will kill anyone who decides to work with him." I gritted through my teeth as Alden nodded once.
"Yes, my lord. Mabel is outside as well, ready to help with the ceremony." He explained.
To put a shield around the village, it will use up a lot of my magic so Mabel will be there to help me tap into it.
Cinead did something similar for Marudeva. The shield he made will be intact until the day he dies. It becomes a part of you and includes a ritual in which you soak your blood into the earth.
I didn't want Amira to be here to see this because it was going to be brutal..but it needed to be done. The Charaka have helped us beyond anything I could've asked for..and in exchange for their undying loyalty, I will give them protection for eternity.
Every person in the circle will absorb a piece of my magic, allowing them to come in and out of the shield. And for those who come visit later, I will feel every person who tries to approach the shield subconsciously.
"Kamaris, after the shield.." Alden began, worry filling his eyes as I lifted my hand and placed it on his shoulder firmly.
"My friend, you are not bound to me. You know this.." I said, knowing where Alden was going with this. He has become a loyal and trusting friend..but he was free to leave at any point if he wanted to.
"Maybe not physically..but I feel I do owe you my life." Alden went on as I studied him carefully.
"After the shield and once I recover, I will take Gideon to Vardis to be held until his trial. Titus and Luke will be waiting for us there. It might be best if you stay here for the time being, to make sure everyone is safe. Can I trust you on that?" I asked Alden, making him swallow hard as I could feel the guilt flashing through him.
Titus and his brother Luke were the Athuney soldiers I entrusted to look over Vardis while I watched Dalia closely.
Their father was the right hand man to my own. He always despised Dalia and saw through her lies. Too bad she had my father under her spell.
Once I get Amira to Vardis, then I know she will be safe..we just have to do this part firsr.
"Let's get this done. Then we can discuss it more later on." I said, my hand squeezing Alden's shoulder once again before I turned and spotted Marcus up ahead standing beside Mabel.
"Are you ready my lord?" She asked, her white milky eyes swirling as I nodded once.
"Yes, I am."
