(Amira)
"Namoka..it's Kamaris..they are in trouble." My voice trembled as fear coursed through me.
That dream..it felt so real..I don't know why I saw what I did..but it had to be a warning of some kind.
"We have to go now." I yelled, causing Nati and Namoka to run over.
I picked up Kavi's paper before showing it to them.
"Camello..I believe he has this, the Everen water Gideon was going to make Kamaris take." I sputtered, trying to get my words out clearly.
"That f*****g asshole." Namoka blurted, cursing as we looked towards the village.
"Let's go, Nati, take Kavi home." She rushed out before running out of the ring as I followed behind.
Kavi's drawing was burned into my mind and I know for a fact that Camello was the man in my dream...he must've decided to work with Gideon.
Namoka ran so quickly I could hardly keep up..my adrenaline was the only thing making my feet move as we raced towards a new part of the village.
She turned, making me lose her as she slipped behind a building as I started to panic.
My heart was beating out of my chest as that fear continued to rise.
Kamaris..I needed to find Kamaris now.
I closed my eyes, desperation filling me as I tried to find him, to think of where he could be.
Then I felt him, my eyes closed tight as I pictured him in front of me.
That feeling I had once before with Kavi returned as my body began to tingle with the sensation of tearing into two.
I smelled him, that ocean scent swirling around me as I stepped forward.
Suddenly I was in a dimly lit room, dozens of men sat at a large stone table and Kamaris sensed me there instantly.
Standing quickly, he rushed towards me, making me let out a strangled sob as I saw he was okay...
"Amira.." he gasped, crashing into me.
"What are you doing here?" He rushed out as Marcus, Kaden, and Alden ran up to us.
"Camello..he is helping Gideon..I had a dream last night and Kavi drew the bottle in her book. The bottle Gideon had yesterday." I tried to get my words out but it felt like they all jumbled together.
Suddenly Namoka burst through the door, running straight to Camello.
"Where is it you asshole?!" She shouted before gripping his shirt as she slammed him against the wall.
His eyes were wide with shock as she held her dagger to his throat.
Kamaris pulled me into him as Marcus walked towards the table looking in two glasses.
"He put it in their drinks." He said looking towards Camello as he rushed over.
"You would betray your own people?! Your own family!" He yelled at Camello, causing him to cower in fear.
"Take him away, put him with the rest of them." He spat with disgust, but before the guards could haul him off..Namoma punched him in the face and gut, causing him to fold over.
Kamaris looked at me, worry filling him as his palms slid up and down my arms soothingly.
"Did you drink it?" I asked worriedly as he shook his head no.
"But Alden did." He stated firmly before glancing at Alden.
Alden held up his hand, trying to use his light magic and nothing worked
"It only lasts a couple of hours." Kamaris told me softly, seeing the worried expression on my face.
Kamaris had explained to me what was in that bottle earlier. Apparently it is from the water that surrounded the ancient city named Evren. Where the originals would meet up and discuss the future of Alysian. It was a place where magic couldn't be used and the waters surrounding it carry those same properties.
Namoka walked back into the room as the others gathered around.
"Is there anyone else here that wants to betray their family, their own flesh and blood, just for an empty promise? If so..then leave right now." She yelled loudly, anger filling her as she looked upon the men and woman in front of her.
"These people have protected us..they have saved us countless times, they continue to keep us safe, and yet weak-minded people continue to forget that. They think there is something better waiting for them, so they make a deal with evil itself. Those against the dark lord are seen as our enemy, and if I hear or see anyone else trying to betray us again, death will be the only option from now on." Namoka's words echoed throughout the hall.
The warriors in front of her stood straighter, their eyes glued to Namoka as they seemed proud of their leader and her speech.
Kamaris gripped my hand as we walked up to Alden.
"Are you okay?" I asked, worry filling me.
He nodded, looking at me intently as he tried to understand everything that just happened.
"How did you know Amira?" He asked, looking behind us as Kamaris led us out into the hall.
Namoka, Kaden, and Marcus joined us not too long after.
Kaden glanced towards me, his eyes full of curiosity as I looked down at my hands nervously.
"Last night I dreamed of Gideon in his cell." I began speaking, feeling Kamaris tense..I know he didn't want them to know about my soul..and perhaps this was a result of that..
"Camello was visiting him and showed him the blue bottle. They seemed friendly while they talked. I didn't know what it meant..I thought it was nothing but then I saw Kavi had drawn that same bottle in her notebook." I felt anxious for some reason..not wanting to reveal something I shouldn't...
Kamaris gripped me tighter, his hands holding me protectively as I glanced at him.
"Good thing you said something, it seems like you and Kavi share some type of bond." Alden spoke, looking over at Marcus and Namoka.
Kaden stepped forward, his eyes still locked on me.
"I too have shared dreams with her before, and then the events would happen the next day. Maybe because you have spent so much time with her." He said reassuring me, relief already filling me from his words. Is that what it was then? Did I dream of it because of her?
"I think we should place a lockdown on Gideon, no one outside of this circle can see him. It's too risky and he is too manipulative." Kamaris spoke roughly, as everyone nodded their heads in agreement.
I sunk into his side, my legs feeling like jello as my adrenaline began to subside.
"We got lucky today, but we can't be this naive any longer. Once the shield is up that will give us some peace of mind and we can stop the border patrols." Kamaris added, and I could feel his anger pulsing off of him in waves..or perhaps it was Arubos who was so pissed off.
"Namoka, take Amira back. I have a few f*****g words I would like to say to Gideon." He spoke through clenched teeth.
His hands transformed slowly as I looked at him, his eyes were black as his shadows swirled around him..yeah, he was beyond pissed.
Kamaris turned before pressing his lips into me roughly, his claws poking into my back.
"I want you to stay in the house. No more thinning unless I'm there with you okay?" He ordered as I nodded my head before feeling his lips crash against mine once more before finally pulling away.
"Let's go." He barked and turned, walking down the hall with Alden, Marcus, and Kaden in tow.
Namoka touched my arm gently, pulling me away from them as she began leading me down the hall.
"Since you have arrived, Kavi's powers have seemed to grow stronger." She spoke quietly, he body stiff as we walked down the hall.
"I noticed she wakes up more from nightmares like she is constantly bombarded by these visions. I don't know what to do.." her voice wavered as she hung her head.
"As a mother..my heart is hurting...to see my little girl barely even live like a child." She gasped, her hands going up to her face as she began to cry.
I was shocked..Namoka had always been so tough. So to see her like this made my heart ache.
"I am so sorry Namoka.." I whispered to her.
"You are doing everything you can, the fact that you are so understanding, so supportive and loving. That's what Kavi needs the most..a family who is always there for her." I spoke gently as she pulled me into a hug, surprising me with her actions.
"Thank you. Sometimes I feel so helpless, but you are right. We just have too continue to be there for her. I just wish....I just want her to live a happy life." She spoke softly, sniffling as she pulled back. Her brown eyes filled with tears as she wiped them quickly.
"Sorry for breaking down, I just don't want to worry Marcus with this stuff. He is more of a baby than any of us." She said with a laugh, causing me to laugh too.
"I get it, sometimes we need people to lean on, I am always here for you Namoka." I added gently, meaning each word.
She smiled half heartedly while patting me on the shoulder.
"Too bad you and Kaden couldn't have worked, you would have been a great daughter-in-law." She said with a wry smile.
I gasped, nudging her playfully as I stared at her in disbelief.
"Please never say that in front of Kamaris, he is already struggling enough with it." I grumbled, knowing that would definitely push him over the edge.
We both laughed as we walked back outside into the sunshine. The fresh air filled my lungs as I practically dragged my feet back to the house.
Once we entered the door Nati jumped up from the couch, worry filling her.
"They are okay, Alden did drink it but his powers should return by tonight." Namoka said quickly but before she could even finish the sentence Nati was already running out of the door to find Alden I was guessing.
Namoka put her hands on her hips while looking after her as she shook her head.
"You know that girl has loved him since she was thirteen years old." She said, glancing at me once more.
"Let's hope it's the start of something great." Namoka added with a wink, turning and walking down the hall..leaving me smiling at her words.
"I'm going to go lay down with Kavi, you should soak in the bath to help your muscles relax." She said behind her shoulder, waving her hand at me.
I nodded my head, my legs so sore from earlier as I tried not to just drop to the floor and crawl the rest of the way.
I opened our door, feeling weird being in here without Kamaris as I looked at our messy bed from earlier.
I felt so relieved that he was okay..but why did I get the feeling that this wasn't over? Not by a long shot...
