(Amira)
"Have you ever used a sword before?" Namoka asked me curiously and I shook my head no.
I literally had no training whatsoever...Back in my old world, it wasn't necessarily needed..even though it probably would've helped to know some self-defense..
"Then we will start with the basics, how to punch and some defensive moves." She said with a laugh and strode towards a path I hadn't seen before.
The morning air was refreshing as the sun broke through the clouds. I saw birds flying by as people waved and greeted us happily.
Children laughed and played across the streets as they all waved to Kavi...you wouldn't even think there had been an attack here just yesterday.
Kavi nodded slightly, keeping her notebook clutched to her chest as we continued on our way. This time we went to a much smaller arena that was located right on the edge of the woods and was pretty far from the village.
"We have more privacy here." Namoka explained as she strode into the ring.
There was a wooden bench that Kavi sat on as Nati and Namoka stood together.
"Nati will be your partner, I will show some demonstrations and watch your form." Namoka instructed, her arms stretching above her head as she talked.
"Warm up first." She added before nodding towards Nati.
Nati was wearing clothes similar to Namoka today, brown leather armor lined with fur and their hair was pulled back.
Just then Nati ran up behind me, pulling my own hair up as I began to stretch.
"Okay, do some jumps." Namoka said firmly.
I watched as Nati began doing jumping Jack's as I swiflty followed suit. I began feeling winded instantly, realizing I hadn't done any type of exercise since getting my new Athuney body.
It felt as if I were practically starting from scratch.
Next namoka had us do push-ups and I could only do ones with my knees lowered..making my arms already feel like jello.
Sadly, this was only the warm-up...
I tried not to breathe so heavily but my lungs were burning like crazy as we stood there together.
"Okay give me three laps around the ring." Namoka nodded towards us and Nati instantly took off..she was a lot more athletic than I originally thought.
I began running, my feet feeling as if I didn't know which way was left or right. I practically stumbled my way along.
"Fight through it." Namoka yelled encouragingly.
I nodded my head, my legs feeling as if I were running in sand as I neared the second lap. Nati continued to run with me, but I knew she had to already be on her fifth, if not more.
I told myself to keep going, to not give up as something was finally beginning to shift ans.I must've gotten my second wind as I finished off the third lap.
I felt so embarrassed, panting heavily and bending over as I felt like I could throw up right there.
Namoka walked up to me, handing me a canteen of water as she patted me on the back.
"Hey, you have to realize your body is practically new. You need to retrain yourself, rework your muscles." She said softly.
Her tone surprised me as she seemed so understanding.
"I didn't think I would be this out of shape though. I used to hike a lot, and exercise every day." I said through wheezes.
I literally would ride my bike for miles every single day..now I couldn't even run three laps around a small circle.
"We will get you back there, not to beat on Kamaris but this is why you need to train. He can't always be there. You aren't just some object to be set on a shelf and looked at every day." She spoke passionately, seeing the way he treated me obviously bugging her, and I get it..kamaris would probably carry me everywhere if I let him...but is it wrong that I like it?
I nodded my head standing now as Nati stepped up beside me.
"We will start with form first. How to punch and hit without hurting yourself." Namoka stepped behind me, her hands gripping my elbow as she positioned me correctly. Next she moved to my legs, fixing my stance and making me much more sturdy.
"Okay now look at Nati, picture where you would want to hit her and aim for it." She said firmly, letting go of me as I looked back.
"Hit her?" I asked in surprise.
Namoka smirked, speaking with humor in her voice.
"Well try to..Nati is known for her speed." She said glancing back to Nati.
I peered ahead, seeing Nati nod encouragingly as I looked towards her arm.
I quickly reached forward, trying to hit her but she dodged my hand like it was nothing.
"Good form, now try to pick up the speed." Namoka said.
I nodded my head, getting back into my stance and stepping forward again.
Nati dodged to the right.
I wasn't even close...
We continued on with the practice, my punches only hitting the air as determination began to fill me.
This time I would get the element of surprise.
I looked at her left arm but I would go for the right. I stepped forward quickly, breathing out as I moved faster than I ever had yet. Nati went to dodge but I was just barely quick enough.
My hand hit her shoulder as her eyes widened and a grin formed.
I turned around looking at Namoka, her own smile forming as happiness filled me.
I know it was nothing but actually hitting her, actually accomplishing something felt amazing.
We continued for at least another thirty minutes and I hit her four more times. My arms were sore and tired as I could barely hold them up by the end of it.
Namoka slapped my back, looking towards Nati with fire I'm her eyes.
"Go sit down and take a break, I will show you how us sisters train, you too could get this advanced if we keep this up." She spoke with determination as I walked over to Kavi, plopping down next to her as she swiftly rested her head on my arm.
Something was off about her..but before I could ask, Namoka and Nati began their training.
The sisters cried out as they charged towards each other, making my eyes widened.
Nati dodged swiftly as Namoka was a force to be reckoned with.
Her punches sliced through the air and I knew one hit could knock anyone out cold.
The women continued to spar as I glanced down, seeing Kavi's notebook and that's when my heart dropped.
The blue bottle..the same one from yesterday and in my dream.
I turned to her, seeing her eyes open as I spoke.
"Kavi, why did you draw that?" I asked as calmly as I could..my nerves filling me as she looked up.
Her brown eyes peered into mine as she spoke softly.
"You saw it too." She whispered quietly, looking up at me as urgency filled every inch of my body...Kamaris.
Kamaris was in danger and I needed to warn him right now..that dream..could it have been a vision instead?
