(Lumi)
I watched in horror as Alpha Kassius yanked my mate away from me. The look in his eyes was filled with pure venom as my body went tumbling back.
That's when I hit something hard, knocking the air from my lungs as two strong hands gripped my arms, holding me in place.
"You just couldn't f*****g listen, could you? I should kill you right now for touching what is mine." Alpha Kassius hissed to Flynn before pulling back and swinging his leg forward, kicking my mate right in the ribs.
The sight of my mate getting hurt caused my heart to drop as I tried to break free from this hold but couldn't.
"No! Please! Why are you doing this?!" I sobbed while hearing my mate cry out as Cascadia whimpered in pain.
"I'm reminding this asshole who I am. He knows not to disobey me, sweetheart. If anything, this is his fault. We had a f*****g plan, and he seems to have forgotten that." Alpha Kassius stated, his eyes snapping to me before giving me a vicious grin and kicking my mate once more.
"Bring the rest of them out here. It's time to get things started." Kassius barked to one of his men, making me try to pull away from whoever it was holding me.
My eyes were glued to my mate, seeing the pain he was in as tears streamed down my face. Why was this happening?
'Cascadia, we have to stop him. We can't let them do this.' I rushed, feeling the panic set in as I tried to link my dad, but he was silent. Most of my pack mates were silent...
"Did you inject them with the wolfsbane?" I heard Kassius ask, making my eyes widen.
Wolfsbane was a poisonous plant used to weaken our wolves. Ingesting it can sever your connection for hours if not days depending on how much you consume.
"The Alpha and Luna have been subdued."
"What have you done?! Where are my parents? Why are you doing this to our pack!" I screamed, watching as Alpha Kassius let out a low chuckle before walking towards me.
I could feel Cascadia itching to come out, my nails already sharpening into claws as images of attacking Alpha Kassius flooded my mind.
'We will rip his throat out!' Cascadia snarled.
"Patience, little beauty. There's no need to get so upset. I will explain everything right now, actually. Considering everyone is here." He said with a bright smile before reaching out and stroking my face. I turned away from him in disgust, making Alpha Kassius pause before moving his hand and gripping my jaw tightly.
"You will learn to crave my touch soon enough, Lumi." He gritted through his teeth. All I could do was scowl at him as the sound of my mother crying filled my ears.
"Mother!" I rushed, pulling myself free from kassius's hold. I leaned to the side, searching for my mother as her sobs began to grow closer. Then I saw her...
My mother had a long gash down the side of her face, making my stomach turn as I couldn't help but gasp.
"Who did this to you?!"
"Wait until you see your father." Alpha Kassius mumbled humorously beside me, causing my eyes to widen when my dads strangled groans filled the air. He was being dragged towards us by one of Kassius's men as I felt my entire world shatter around me.
"Dad! Oh goddess, no!" I pulled away from the man holding me, the sight of my father enough to break me free as I scrambled towards him desperately.
"Daddy, no, please, no." I sobbed, seeing his arm was twisted and broken at the elbow. He had a long cut down his chest, and his face was turning paler by the second. But he was still alive.
"I told you to run Lumi." He choked out, making me go to reach for him when I was suddenly yanked back and thrown into the snow.
"Nuh uh, not yet Lumi. Now, whether your father lives or dies, that is up to you-"
"I want him to live!" I rushed, not even hesitating. My family and my pack were the most important things to me.
"I thought you might say that." Kassius stated triumphantly.
"Enough! Can't we just get what we came for and leave?!" My mate suddenly yelled, causing me to turn my head and look towards him. I could see his wolf must've started to heal him already.
What they came for... what did they come here for?
'We need to get out of here, Lumi. Huxley was able to break down the wall our mate put up. He says we are in danger. Our entire pack is in danger. Alpha Kassius was the one who killed the previous Alpha!'
I felt sick to my stomach. The realization of what was going on finally setting in as I looked towards my parents, wishing I could just speak with them.
"Don't get all heroic on me now, Flynn. What we came for has changed. I found something much more precious than the moon stone. I found my future mate and Luna." Alpha Kassius announced, his words confusing me as I saw those cold gray eyes drift towards me.
"Why use a stone to strengthen my wolf when I can just use her? You felt it too. How her mere presence alone makes our wolves go f*****g insane. God, even now, Ragnar is begging to come out and mark her pretty flesh." Kassius groaned, the look in his eyes turning to lust and hunger as he stared towards me intently.
All I felt was disgust for the man. The realization that he wants me to be his mate was like a punch to the gut as I glanced toward my parents once more. That's when my mother's eyes met mine. The terror and fear behind them caused my heart to shatter.
"So if I agree... will you let my pack go?"
"Lumi no!" My mother shouted, causing tears to spring to my eyes as Kassius smiled at me triumphantly.
"Smart and beautiful. I knew you were something special, little Lumi." Kassius purred, his large body walking back towards me before reaching down and petting my hair. It took everything in me not to let Cascadia shift.
The only thing stopping me were the guards that held silver blades to my pack mates throats, threatening to end their lives at any moment.
"If you agree, I will let your pack go, yes." Kassius finally stated, making relief flooding through me as my mother broke down into sobs.
"But-"
"What? What else do you need?" I rushed, looking towards Kassius bewildered.
"Well, there is one little problem, isn't there?" He said playfully, looking towards my mate now as my heart sunk once more.
The look of guilt in his eyes pained me, but he came here to destroy my pack. He knew the entire time that his Alpha planned to do this.
Even so, he is my mate. The other half to my soul that was meant only for me. And something tells me he might've had no choice but to follow along. Or maybe that's what I hoped tonbe the truth. Perhaps he is just as much of a victim to Kassius's wrath as we are.
"Reject him." Kassius suddenly stated, making my eyes widen before I looked towards him once more.
"R-reject him? You want me to reject my mate?" I breathed, feeling Cascadia howl in pain just from the idea alone.
"Once you reject him, I will let your pack go."
