Chapter 17
Colton’s POV
Brooks called me earlier to have me stop at his cabin. I anticipated him letting me know that he, or Conner, would be staying here on vacation. I didn’t expect to walk into what I did. The story Brooks gave me was hard to hear. I knew the Reynolds family. I knew that the loss of Christy and Byron had been hard. I felt terrible for Parker. Losing your parents at the same time is bad enough. But if her husband actually had something to do with it, that would be shocking.
She let Brooks bring me up to speed. She only spoke when I asked her a direct question. I was just about to start asking her more questions about her husband when her phone rang. Brooks immediately pulled out his phone and started recording. I stayed silent. I was going to watch this play out.
