My heart feels heavy and anticipation makes me almost make a dash for my penthouse. But, I find myself breathing in to calm down before I walk inside. Mars is in the living room and on his laptop with a concentrated frown on his face.
He doesn’t sense my presence until I speak,
“Is Athena gone yet?” I ask causing him to snap his head in my direction. He looks surprised for a moment, And I can swear that he is a nervous mess.
“Not yet. She’s waiting for you.” He answers then sets his laptop aside before I lean in placing a soft kiss on his lips. I say nothing about what happened in the office whilst he looks at me as if he is expecting me to ask about it.
