I looked at the two girls seated across from me. One of them I had failed beyond measure. I hadn’t been the father to her that I should have been. Acknowledging this, I knew that her mother would be so disappointed in me. I knew I had let my daughter and my first mate down. I just hoped that it wasn’t too late to make things right.
