Riley White, Angel White's twin brother, he was at least 1.6 meters tall, a delicate yet cold feature that gave him an intimidating expression. His skin was a fair as that of a girl, but his charms weren't questionable. He didn't have a sturdy chest and a muscular body like lost hunks, but his aura gave off the impression of one who wasn't to be trifled with.
He was considered quite tall for his age, but though he had an intimidating aura, he was still quiet popular in school, even popular than his innocent sister. Rumors often ran through that Angel White wouldn't hold a candle to Riley if he were to dress as a girl.
But his thuggish lifestyle had caused many people to be scared of him, winning him the title of the school bully. It was especially because he had a vicious tongue that knew no limit in sarcasm.
A wide grin spread on his lips, exposing his pearl white teeth, while he had a mocking gaze that peered at Angel White with amusement. He didn't at all hide his dislike towards his sister.
Auriane recalled that Riley White wasn't quite fond of his sister either, he had an extremely vicious tongue when he scolded someone, sparing them no face at all, not even his father.
He was the only 'son' and most pampered 'son' of the white. But the problem with him was that he was rather rebellious and had caused quite a head ache to Stella and Alfred White. Later on, Alfred White decided to give a blind eye to his rebellious nature.
Auriane didn't have much of an impression of this pampered 'son', though she had been bullied by him during her younger age, but she didn't hold any grudge against him. After all, in her past life, though he had sometimes caused her some troubles, there were merely some sarcastic words.
Truth to be told, she didn't know much about him, because he was arely home, always running off to God knows where.
"Riley, why are you...?" Angel White stopped at mid sentence realising that her words didn't make sense. At the end,she swallowed the remaining words.
But was Riley White going to just let it pass and walk away? Firstly, he wasn't one to end things mid way, neither did he love to be kept in suspense. Sneering, he looked at Angel White with a sinister smile. "What's wrong sister, why don't you complete your sentence? Or you could just advice your big brother to spend the night outside."
"Why would you say that, your sudden arrival took me off guard, but of course it's good that you should spend more time home, it's best to make mum less worried."
Riley didn't comment but merely sized Angel White up as if looking at a piece of art that had been carefully sculptured.
His lips rose up and he stood straight with a hand on his pocket, the other hand suddenly smacked Ange White's back roughly, almost causing her to lose her footing. However, only the platter of fruits fell, while Angel steadied her body holding the handrail.
Her eyes were moist and her body ached from the pain, yet she gritted her teeth and endured it. She knew this brother of hers had quiet a vicious tongue, if she cried now, she would be the only one in the losing end.
It was fine to frame and slander Auriane who had a face, but if someone like Riley who didn't care about reputation or his image, it was like pouring water in a basket.
"Eh, why did you suddenly throw the platter of fruits...this won't do sister, food is precious, you can't waste it like that."
Riley seriously lectured Angel, if anyone were to watch this scene, they might really think one was being wasteful and immature, while the other was being a responsible and considerate brother.
"You ..." Angel really wanted to scold Riley, yet she knew when to stop, so she took a deep breath and calmed her nerves.
"It's my fault, my strength can't compare to that of brother, so I lost footing when you..."
"Weak indeed!"
Riley immediately cut Angel off before she could explain herself. This was one thing he hated about this sister of his, she was not only manipulative and a hypocrite, but she was equally cunning, never letting others take advantage of her.
Yet she was quite good at taking advantage of others. Perhaps according to other's perspective she was kind, considerate and softhearted, he knew there was more to that sweet polite smile of hers.
She wasn't nosy, neither was she disobedient, so she was considered a role model wherever she went. But he knew everything was nothing but a facade and she only revealed the image that everyone wanted to see. As for the dark side of herself and the image that couldn't be seen, it was concealed in the depth of her heart.
He knew that was everyone had their darkside, which was the balance of the world, but he hated hypocrites and white lotus like Angel White.
"But I guess it's fine to be no muscles, as long as there's a devil and an angel with less use at one's side, right."
Angel's expression changed as she stared at Riley, but she didn't say anything. Not that she didn't understand what he meant by having a devil and an angel with no use by one's side. He was just indirectly accusing her of acting like a saint when she was just a devil in disguise.
Angel wanted to retort, but she wasn't stupid and had trained her psychology quite well. She knew how to maintain her calm and her selected words proved it.
A sweet smile appeared on her plump pink lips, so sweet that Riley felt that he had just been faced fed by honey. But it was a pity that such a honey was poisonous and sour.
"I understand brother, my physical strength can't compare to yours, so it's good enough that for me to have a brain."
Her words were obviously to mock Riley for for having muscles and no brain, but Riley wasn't angry. Her words sounded like a form of amusement to him as he peered at Angel with disdain and interest.
"Heh, sister's skills had indeed improved by leaps and bounds."
He wasn't angry, but rather amused by her clever means of retaliating against him. In the past she used the teary weapon against him, feigning pity and causing others to scold him for being cruel towards his twin sister. He couldn't just remember how many times he was scolded because of her, but he didn't stop. He considered the people's scolding as a form of entertainment and soon no body found it reasonable to scold him. While he didn't stop throwing sarcastic words at Angel, humiliating her, while she retaliated with pity.
But today it seems as of she had grown quite a lot, she learned how to fight back verbally.
Interesting
Riley thought, as his lips rose up to a sinister smile, causing people to feel cold and intimidated.
But there was surely someone who didn't find the sibling's sarcastic and verbal attack to be an interesting show.
She had been working all day and she was quite tired, so she turned around and walked towards her room for a warm bath. Tomorrow was still another tiring day, so she would have to replenish her energy.
As for Riley and Angel, they didn't seem to realize that she had left.
"Have you always been good, how come I'm unaware."
Angel maintained a polite smile towards Riley, as of his sarcasm didn't at all affect her. She appeared innocent and her curious eyes seems to blink at Riley in askance.
