CHAPTER NINE

1583 Words
DAMON’s POV. This asshole has been sending wolf hunters to my pack for the longest of time and I promised him that the day he fell into my hands, I was going to make his life a living hell which I was doing currently. I was going to slowly sniff the life out of him, chop off all of his fingers and feed them to him before taking away his tongue and watching him rot in this place. I hated when people tried to take me for granted, I hated when they made me feel like I didn’t know what I was doing. This was not the first time I had him captured but he preferred this the hard way and I was more than willing to give that to him. “Please” blood splatters out of his mouth onto my shoe and my eyes darken the more, the actual nerve of him to even think of speaking in front of me. “I gave you a thousand and one opportunity, Gregory” I told him, “not to mess around with me but because you thought you could smuggle your way around, you decided to play games with me and now you are trying to make a deal with me?” “Please… The door immediately pushes open and Uriel steps in, a disgusted look appears on her face when she sees the sight before her. I didn’t bring her in here because I didn’t want her to have any kind of reaction since she was pregnant but this woman was more curious than a cat. I let out a little sigh as I continued staring at her, waiting for her to say something. “What’s going on here?” She finally asked, her eyes darting across the two of us. “I told you to wait for me” I told her, “why are you here?” “Did you bring me here to show me how ruthless you can be?” She asked again, “bringing me here and hurting someone in front of me is not really how you should welcome me, Damon” I finally pulled my body off the chair and started walking towards her, each step calculated and precise. She was a daring young lady, I must give that to her. I have seen the way she handled her former pack and how everyone was scared of her. Too bad she was here now and I love to keep my woman under me, unless it was Uriel. “I am going through a heartbreak and the only place you could bring me was your slaughterhouse?” “Do you want me to take you elsewhere to unwind, maybe?” I leaned closer to her, my eyes drinking in her every sight and movement, “you just have to say the word and I will take you anywhere you want” Uriel scoffed, folding her hands across her chest. I could see the pain in her eyes and that was what I was trying to remove. I didn’t want to see that pain especially not for my asshole best friend. “I want to leave, Damon” “I will wrap up here and take you honey “I do not mean your house” she interrupted me, “I mean, I want to leave. Away from this city and everyone inside of it” “We had a deal, Uriel” She rolled her eyes to the back of her head and scoffed, “I don’t remember agreeing to that deal, Damon. And who told you I would even think of agreeing to something like that? I just got out of a relationship and you send me to jump right into the other?” “I am going to give you a contract” I said after a while, “and you can read everything inside. Then you can make up your mind if you want to go ahead with my plan or leave” “Look Damon” she leaned forward, her lavender scent filtered into my nose and I clenched my jaw together, “even if marrying you would ease all of my pain, i would never even think of that. Don’t you see you? Don’t you know who you are? You are Felix’s best friend and birds of a feather flock together. How do you expect me to look at you in a different light?” “Are you comparing me to your ex husband?” “The two of you are the same” her eyes travelled to the bloodied man on the ground and her jaw tightened against each other, “I only came to tell you that I was leaving. You can do as you please” before I could respond, Uriel turned around and sauntered out of the room. f**k! She was the most annoying woman I have ever come across and I was certain she knew that. She was aware of how annoying she could actually be but she didn’t care, it showed. I immediately followed her out of the room and caught her in the hallway. “Wait!” I called after her, grabbing a hold of her hand. My gaze settled on her and her hazel eyes seemed to be pulling me in. “What?” She snapped her hand out of mine in anger, “how dare you touch me!” “You…. My mobile began to ring. I wanted to ignore it but I had a feeling that whoever it was would not stop calling until I had answered and I knew exactly who was on the line. With my gaze still on Uriel, I pulled out my phone and I saw Felix’s name on the screen. She saw it too and her countenance immediately changed. “I will speak to him later” “Answer your call, damon” she interrupted me, “don’t act like you care about my feelings” She was right, I didn’t care but I didn’t want her to feel more sad than she already did but nonetheless, I answered the call and pressed the phone against my ear. “What’s up?” “Let’s have some drinks later” Felix says from the other end, “my divorce is finally being settled” “I don’t think that would be possible man” I told him without thinking twice” “Why?” Felix inquired from the other end of the line, “you have never refused to have a drink with me” “Since I am doing that now, it should be important” “Do you have one of your pack women on your bed again?” His voice came through again, this time laced with mockery and sarcasm. I looked at her, she didn’t look away but I could see the judgement emanating from her. “I will see you tomorrow man” I finally told him, “I am busy today” “Alright, make sure you come bearing gifts” “Isn’t Louisa enough already?” My gaze settled on Uriel again and I saw how she balled her hands into a fist but didn’t say anything. Felix didn’t respond and ended the call while I put my phone back into my pocket and returned my attention to the woman in front of me. “Let’s go, I will take you home” “I am already booking a hotel” Uriel pulled her phone out of her pocket but i immediately snatched it from her and backed her against the wall, my huge frame towering above her. In front of me, she looked fragile and small, I could see the tear marks on her face from up close. “Have you always been this stubborn?” I asked, “can’t you do something the moment you are told to do it?” “And why do you care?” She half yelled. “Telling me to marry you a day after I got out of a stupid marriage with your best friend is actually stupid. How dare you say that to me? Do you think I would dare to think about it? You and Felix are the same person, did you even think about that?” “I am not Felix!” “Then answer my question” she pushes me away but I didn’t budge, it’s not like she has that much power anyways, “did you know that he was sleeping with Louisa?” I didn’t say anything, of course I knew. Felix has been f*****g that woman for a long time now, I knew every f*****g thing about that relationship. “I thought as much,” Uriel answered with a scoff, “so you see why your deal was stupid from the beginning? I will book a hotel and I will leave…” her eyes teared up but she sniffed it back, I hate seeing her weak, “let’s pretend you didn’t even say anything to me. Take me away from this place, Damon” She sounded like she was begging and it annoyed me the most, I hated weak people the most. “Hmmm” I finally nodded, “I will take you home, Uriel” “Thank you!” She sniffed back another tear again but before I could take a super her dam broke and all the painful tears came rushing out.
