MAX’S POV
It was still a little hard for me to believe that Lilly had really left me. I was struggling to come to tears with the decision she had made and the fact that she had refused to allow me to take her to the station. I knew that thinking that Luca wanted her was ridiculous, but I couldn’t stop thinking about it now that I had let the words come out of my mouth.
I was desperate to win her back, but at the same time, I didn’t know where to start in order to do that. I felt like she hated me for the fact that I hadn’t been straight with her from the beginning. I had already put her through so much, and it was only now that I realized that I had put Lilly through so much all in the name of protecting her. I still couldn’t see how I could have done anything differently.
