*Georgina's P.O.V.*
---
"Here she comes, Girls," Beth uttered as we got sight of the redhead Natalie walking in the corridor with all of her glory.
"Just look at where she is heading," I told them as they are silently stealing glances at the target.
What if she would really tell the guidance counselor about our deeds? We have to stop her at all costs or my reputation would go down beneath her feet. And, I don't want it to happen.
"She is opening her locker. And, putting some things in, and then, taking out some. She is now closing her lock--- Ow!" Beth did not finish saying the things that Nat is doing when Rue poked her side.
"Stop it, Beth. We are not f*****g blind." Rue let out, and thankfully, that shut her up.
"Ooh, follow her, Ken. And, see if where she is heading." I told my best friend and she went to follow our target at a ten feet distance.
"Don't lose sight of her!" Beth yelled and I flinched when Rue slapped her shoulder.
"Ouch! What is your problem, b***h? Why are you are so f*****g sadistic?" She retorted and here they are again.
"Lower down your voice. She might hear you, Bethch." Rue told her and I am too tired to listen to their rubbish arguments.
I fished my phone from my purse since I felt it vibrated. It must be Ken who is calling.
"I need backup. Hurry." She said from the other line and I motioned the two girls to follow where they went earlier.
You better not mess with me, Natalie, if you don't want to receive special treatment from us. Special to the sense that we will hide your body. We are so damn good at doing that kind of stuff. Geez, what am I thinking already? We actually don't murder people, we just give them some lessons.
---
"Where are you, Guys?" I asked Kendra on the phone as they still haven't gone back from their mission.
"At the Students Organizations Office, Gin. She hasn't gone out." She replied and I looked at the time on my watch.
"Mission abort. It's almost time for the first subject. Go to your classroom, now." I told her and I started walking in the sea of students in the corridor.
"Copy that, Captain." She replied and I just chuckled. What the heck are we doing?
I hung up and kept my phone in my purse as I sauntered to my classroom. We will just deal with her later. And, I don't have any freaking idea if how will I face her today in our class.
---
"Hi! Good morning, Cous! How are you doing?" Paul greeted me and stood up to ruffle my hair but I blocked it.
"Haha, good defense, Gin." He laughed, and then, went back to his seat.
I walked to my seat, and thankfully, the ginger b***h is not yet here.
Then, I lifted my head since there are newcomers in the room, but it's just the head cheerleader, Samantha Rivers, and her noisy best friends.
And, my gaze went to the lesbian couple, Cassidy and Morgan. They look really good together, and I'm surprised that Sam doesn't hate them. I really thought she was a homophobe at first since she is such a meanie to my very quiet seatmate, Claire Lawrence. Well, I'm just kinda getting some gay vibe on her, and maybe that is why the cheerleader is being so rude to her. But we can't judge people if we won't put ourselves in their shoes.
We only have one minute left before the class will start and the great Nat Porter is not here yet. No, I don't want to think that my idiotic best friends abducted her or worse murdered her. Damn, I still don't know if what they are capable of doing. She has just messed with the wrong person with lots of reinforcement.
"Hi, Nat!" I heard someone greeted and I saw the target approaches her seat beside Kelsey.
"Hey, howdy, Kel?" She greeted her seatmate and they chatted about something that I can barely hear.
"Good morning, Class! Eyes to the front, Everybody. Rebecca Clarke, go back to your seat!" The teacher let out and our heads turned to one of the twins. She just can't stay in her seat. Unlike her twin, Morgan, who is very behaving in class.
"Okay, so last Friday we tackled about..." The class started and we will just be having a review of our lessons for the exam this coming Thursday.
———
"Is she still there?" Beth whispered as we fix ourselves in front of the mirror, but actually, we followed the ginger here in the ladies' room. She is currently in one of the cubicles and doing her thing.
"Shut the f**k up, Beth!" Ken told her and she just motioned her hand like zipping her mouth.
We have not seen her went out, so, she is probably still in there.
When we heard water being flushed, I motioned the girls to go out, since I will handle this on my own.
I'll stay here and if ever she will bring up something about threatening me and whatnot, I will just talk to her. No, I am not gonna beg her not to tell the guidance counselor, but I'm just gonna give her some offer in exchange for not telling it.
"Unholy cow! f**k!" She was startled and cursed almost silently. I never knew that she curses a lot.
Now, I wonder if why she is alarmed to know that I am here. She must have been planning on something against me. That is what I should confirm now.
"Hi! Can I use some?" She greeted me and pointed out the soap bottle that is near the sink that I am leaning on.
"Yeah, sure," I replied and moved a little to give her some space to reach for the thing.
"Thanks!" She replied and smiled sheepishly.
I searched for the chapstick in my purse to put some on my lips just to emphasize that I am here to do my thing.
And as she is washing her hands for too long now, or she is playing with the water, I could feel like she wants to say something to me since no one is inside this room.
"Do you have anything to say, Porter?" I asked her while looking at her reflection in the mirror.
She is wearing a blouse in a shade of green that perfectly complements her red hair that is braided nicely.
"Umm... No. I mean, I uh, yeah... Actually, I have something to tell you." She stammered and she's not even looking at me in the face.
Now, I'm sensing something from her. Is she being intimated by me? I should be the one, right?
"Mmm, what is it?" I asked her and I am crossing my fingers inside while hoping that it is not about the thing that is running in my mind.
"Uh... I just... I just wanna... Umm, tell you about... Something." She started, and then, paused for a few moments. What is the matter with this girl?
"What is it exactly?" I asked again and she inhaled deeply.
Is it something very shocking since she is kind of feeling uncomfortable with me?
"The... I need to tell you about the... Uh, the theme. Yeah, the theme. Of the... You know, the essay contest." She began and I just held my breath as she speaks. I thought it would be about the clubbing thing.
"Oh, yeah. What is about the theme?" I replied and she seemed like thinking deeply.
"Well, it's about Global Warming." She said and I just gave her the face of skepticism. Why is she telling me this?
"Okay, but aren't you supposed to announce it by the start of the competition?" I asked her and she made an 'o' face.
Don't tell me that she is not aware of that? She is the freaking organizer.
"Yeah, but I... Uh, just thinking... So that you can prepare about it?" She said unsurely and I just raised my left eyebrow at her.
I don't have any f*****g idea of what she is up to. She is being biased in that case.
"That's it?" I asked her and she went to her thinking pose again which I find so hilarious, by the way. Her eyebrows are in different directions. One is up and the other is down while the other side of her nose is scrunching. Well, no, I am not staring at her face for too long.
"Ahh, yeah. Wha...what else is there I have to say?" She uttered and I turned my focus on keeping my chapstick in my purse.
"I don't know about you," I stated and took out my blush on powder.
"Ooh, yeah, right. About the uh, the play. Yes, the play." She stated and I turned my gaze to her.
"So, uh, if you could win in the essay contest, in which I know that you could, you will be the director for it, and even for our SFF entry. And, if otherwise, you know the consequences, right?" She mentioned, and we have already talked about this. Did she forget? Or there is nothing she can think of that she should say?
"Yeah, I know. That's all you have to say?" I answered and asked again, then, she stared at me blankly. I guess she's thinking.
"Is there anything more? Oh, yeah, there is more." She asked and added as she remembered. Hoo, I hope it's not what it is.
I bit my lip and I think she gulped, then, wetted her lips.
"Ahem, uh, it's about... The uh... You, hmmn." She cleared her throat, then, started, and paused again. Is she sick? Or is she high? But I don't think she takes drugs.
"You should wear glasses here at the academy." She finally let out without stuttering.
But when what she said registered in my mind, I snapped my head to her.
"What? No. No f*****g way!" I stated with my voice getting higher and I saw her flinched.
"Wha...why? You look good in it. No, I mean, uh... You look different with it. In a good... kind of different. You know, I never saw you wearing some and it fits you. Honestly." She uttered and stammering again.
And, I guess all my blood rushed to my face. Then, I looked at my reflection in the mirror, and I think I don't need any blush on powder.
"No, I won't. I don't look good in it." I replied and she sighed.
"No, you look great with it." She insisted, and why the heck am I feeling so pressured right now?
"It's none of your business, Porter. I wear it when I want to." I let out and she shrugged with her lower lip popping out.
"Okay. It's up to you." She surrendered and opened the faucet again.
"Mhmm. So, you have nothing more to say?" I asked her again and she might have been so irritated by now.
"Why do you keep on asking me about telling you something?" She asked, and yep, she is annoyed already. Great!
"Oh, uh. Well, you know, just umm... Wondering if... If there is more." I let out and it is now my turn to stammer. s**t, why did I even persist?
"Uh, what more?" She asked with her thinking face.
If I don't hate you, Nat, I could have pinched your cheeks. Damn, what am I thinking? Bad mind.
"You know, anything... Uh, something... Like, umm. Something threatening? Or something about... going out?" I talked like a total piece of s**t. And, I saw her face in surprise.
"Oh, you... You wanna go out with me?" She asked me merrily with a very wide smile. She really is sick.
"What? No. Woah! No. What the f**k? It's not." I retorted as I just noticed her reply.
"Oh, you won't? Oh, you are asking me to tell you to go out with me?" She said with disappointment but then changed to something ecstatic.
Then, I gave her a face of incredulity. What is wrong with her?
"No. It's not that. Oh my gosh! Argh! Just forget it." I let out in frustration and decided to just leave this room.
"What really is it?" She asked as I turned my back on her.
"Nevermind," I stated and head to the door. I can't believe this woman.
"Oh, Barbs! There is more." She said and I slowly turned back to her. Is it that this time?
"What?" I replied with a hint of irritation in my voice.
"Uh, after class." She continued and I gave her a puzzled look on my face. Is she gonna tell me after class?
"What after class?" I asked and she just grinned, and I don't want to think that she will ask me out. Like what the hell? She can't be gay. Why am I even thinking about such things? I'm not gay myself. f**k these thoughts!
"The essay contest. After class, maybe around four-thirty. We end by four, right? And, the venue is in the auditorium. So, yeah, that's it. Be there." She stated and I nodded my head slowly.
"Yeah, I will," I replied and I can sense that there really is more that she needs to say. Or is it just me who is insisting on her to say something about the club thingy? Probably the latter.
"Cool!" She let out and I think that it is just my imagination that she winked. Oh s**t, what is happening to me?
"Okay, that is all?" Oh f**k, here I am again.
"Why? Is there more?" She asked with a very bright smile. No, she is grinning and I have a bad feeling about it.
"Nope, no more," I replied and shook my head, then, opened the door.
"Okay, see you around, Love." I heard her mumbled and I snapped my head back to her. Did I hear it right?
"What?" I asked her abruptly and her face is in surprise.
"What?" She asked back and opened the faucet again. What is she doing with the water? She is not conserving it. What kind of advocate of nature is she?
"What did you say?" I asked her and her eyebrows met while trying to remember something.
"Oh, uh, I said... See you around, Barbs. What else?" She answered and I am pretty sure that it is not what I heard earlier. Or maybe I am just hallucinating?
"Okay," I uttered and finally head out of the room.
What the f**k had just happened back in there?
