Chapter Four

(Rain's Pov) He got down off of Ruby as I looked at him in shock and anger. Why wouldn't I be angry? He completely ignored me when ever I would try and text and call him. I glared at him and he sighed. "Look, I can explain," he said. "Explain what?! That you changed when you moved! That I wasn't good enough for you anymore! Go ahead, say it! I can take it!" I said. He bit his lip and Sully came up to me and nuzzled me. He does that whenever I'm upset. I put my hand on his snout and Johnny sighed. "It's not that you weren't good enough, it's just. . .I made new friends! I didn't think I would need you anymore," he said. I looked at him in shock and hurt. "Wow, thanks for that. What am I? A used tissue? You didn't need me anymore?! Johnny, I'm a f*****g human! I have feelings!" I screamed. The rest of the students were standing there awkwardly while Johnny and I screamed at each other. "No, no! I didn't mean that!" he said. "Oh, really? Then what did you mean?" I asked. "I-I don't know. . .it just slipped out!" "Guys! Maybe we should just go back," Andy said. "Yeah, I'll take the horses back. And, Johnny," I said and he looked at me. "Don't talk to me." I got on Sully and the horses followed me back to the barn. I got off and put them in the field except Sully. Him and I went into the barn to check on Ying Yang. My heart felt like it was about to explode. I bit my lip and felt the tears start to spill. "No. . .NO!" I yelled and punched the wall. "I WILL NOT CRY OVER HIM!" I screamed. I looked at my shaky hands and saw my knuckles were busted. "Great," I hissed under my breath. I quickly fed Ying Yang and ran back to the house. Everyone was in the living room deciding on a movie to watch. My dads were leaning on the wall with a bored look on their faces. I hissed in pain as I closed the door. Daddy looked over at me and shook his head when he saw my hand. He pointed to the kitchen and I followed him. "Rain, what happened? You've never punched anything before," he said and got the first aid kit out. I sighed and ran my good hand through my hair. "Johnny pissed me off," I said. They bit their lips and Dad said, "How? When I talked to him he seemed to want to patch things up with you." I hissed when Daddy put disentfenctent spray on my knuckles. "He said he didn't need me anymore, those were his exact words," I said. They looked at each other before sighing. "I'm sorry, Rain. I honestly thought you two could be friends again. Didn't you guys promise that?" Dad said. I felt myself start to tear up at the memory of our promise. "He lied, it's as simple as that. If he wanted to be friends he wouldn't of ignored me for four years," I said. Daddy finished wrapping my knuckles and I thanked him. "Well, they're watching a movie in there. Why don't you go watch it?" Daddy said. I smiled and nodded. I followed them and sat on the ground in front of the couch next to some girl. She looked really shy and had blonde hair. She wasn't like the other girls, she actually had acne and wasn't as skinny as a barbie doll. She scooted away a little and played with her shoelace. Everyone was talking since the movie hasn't started yet and I smiled at her. "Hey," I said. She glanced at me and looked at the floor. "H-hi," she said. "What's your name?" I asked. "Joe," she said. "That's a pretty name," I said. She smiled a little and blushed. "Really?" she said and perked up a little. "Yeah, my names Rain." "I know, your dads told us at dinner." I blushed a little and smiled sheepishly. "Right. . .forgot about that," I said. She laughed a little and before I could say something else, Cherry came in and glared at Joe. Joe quickly looked down and Cherry said, "Ew, look what the cat dragged in." I saw Joe's face was emotionless. She just ignored Cherry's comment and got up. She just walked away outside and I glared at Cherry. "You didn't need to do that," I said angrily. She looked at me shocked. "Please, you're better off hanging with us," she said. I ignored her and went outside. I saw Joe leaning on the gate watching the horses. She looked pretty with the wind blowing through her blonde hair. "Hey, Joe?" I said. She looked at me and turned towards me. "Yeah?" She whispered. She sounded like she was about to cry. "Are you okay?" "I'm used to it, so yeah," she said. "You shouldn't have to be used to it," I said and she shrugged. "I can't do anything about it. Can we please just leave it be?" she begged. "Fine, but if it happens again I'm doing something about it," I said. She smiled. "Deal, now tell me, what happened to your hand?" I bit my lip and looked at my wrapped hand. "I punched the barn wall. It's not that I'm an angry person! It's just. . .something got me really mad," I said. "I understand, you don't have to tell me. Now for my next question, why are you talking to me?" I smiled and said, "You're really nice. Plus, you looked kind of shy being here and everything." She nodded and sighed. "Yeah, I guess I am," she said and looked at the ground. "Why don't we go up to my room and hang out, you know, get to know each other more," I said. She smiled and nodded and we went up to my room. (Johnny's Pov) Rain opened the front door and rushed into the kitchen with his dads. Andy gave me a knowing look and sighed. "What?" I said. "Did you see his hand?" Andy said. I shook my head no. "His knuckles were bloody. He obviously punched something," he said. I sighed and put my face in my hands and groaned. "Ugh! I feel terrible!" I groaned. He put his hand on my shoulder and said, "You should, you said some pretty f****d up stuff back there." I looked at him and said, "Gee, that makes me feel so much better." "Well, don't look too beat up over it, 'cause here he comes," he said. I saw Rain come out of the kitchen with his right hand wrapped. He sat down in front of the couch next to Joe, some quiet girl who I don't really know. He smiled at Joe and started talking to her until Cherry came in. She said something I couldn't hear that caused Joe to go outside and Rain to yell at her. He followed Joe outside and I heard Gabe say; "Hey, Johnny, can you help me with something in the kitchen?" I looked up at him and nodded. I nervously followed him to the kitchen and when we in there he closed the door. "Um, yeah?" I said. They both crossed their arms and looked at me with disappointment written on their faces. "Johnny, why the hell would you say those things to Rain? Do you realize how hurt he was?" David said. I bit my lip and shrugged. "I didn't mean to say those things! It just slipped out!" I said. "But why would you even think those things?" Gabe said. I looked at the floor and shrugged again. "I don't know, I guess I didn't think I would need him anymore. . .I have new friends," I said honestly. David shook his head and sighed. "Johnny, you've changed and not for the better," David said. I bit my lip so they wouldn't see the hurt on my face. "Now, grab that tray of Sundays and hand one out to everyone so they think you were really helping us." I nodded and grabbed the tray and went out of the kitchen. I handed everyone one and set the tray on the table. I sat down next to Andy and he looked at me with a knowing look. "You okay?" he whispered so no one else would hear us. "I'm fine," I said. "But you came out with a sad look on your face." I glared at him and said, "I said I'm fine! Now drop it." He sighed and started eating his Sunday. Oh great, this is going to be the worst week ever, now their whole family hates me! Ugh, I gotta patch things up with Rain, I just got to.
