(Rain's Pov)
I woke up to someone shaking me. "Rain, time to get up," Dad said. I opened my eyes and looked at the clock. It was six a.m. I groaned and sat up.
"Why?" I said with my eyes half closed.
"You have to go feed and let out the horses. Everyone is awake downstairs." I yawned and looked at him.
"Why?" I said.
"Because, they're used to waking up early for school anyways and Joe said she'll help you," he said. I nodded and got up. I stretched and Dad went out of my room so I could get dressed. I went into my closet and got out my black spiked leather jacket, a black t-shirt, my leather skinny jeans, and my spiked boots. I smiled and did my eye makeup and teased my hair. I grabbed my phone and started playing 'Fashionably Late' by Falling In Reverse. I ran downstairs while softly singing along. Everyone looked at me except Johnny who kept his eyes on his bowl of cereal. I rolled my eyes and went into the kitchen and smiled. Dad handed me a bowl of cereal and I thanked him. I went into the living room and sat next to Joe on the floor.
"Good morning, Joe," I said.
She smiled and said, "Morning." I smiled and ate my bowl of cereal. I got up and put my bowl in the sink. I ran out the door and smiled and jumped into Max's open arms.
"Max! What are you doing here?" I asked.
He chuckled and said, "I wanted to see the love of my life, is that so bad?" He kissed my head and I giggled.
"Awe, you're so sweet," I said. He took my hand and we started walking towards the tractor.
"So, ready to work?" I nodded and we got into the tractor and I started driving to the barn. Once there I got out and heard Ying Yang. I ran into the barn and he was whining, wanting some milk. I smiled and got his formula ready and started feeding him.
"Can you put the horses out?" I said. Max nodded and put all the horses out in the field and laid some hay out. I thanked him and let Ying Yang go out with Sully. I smiled at Max and we got back in the tractor and I started driving to the storage shed.
"So, what exactly happened to make you punch a wall?" Max asked.
I glanced at him and said, "Remeber my old friend that I told you about?"
"Johnny?"
"Yeah, well he's here and said some pretty mean stuff to me. I got pretty heated and I punched a wall," I said. He glared at his hands and then looked up at me.
"I'm going to hurt that bastard," he said. My eyes widened and I stopped the tractor in front of the storage shed.
"What?! No! Don't do that!" I cried.
He rolled his eyes and said, "Why shouldn't I?"
"Because, I don't want you to get in anymore fights! Do you want to get sent off again?" I said. He was sent off a while back for getting in too many fights and if he gets in anymore, he'll be sent off for good. He sighed and got out of the tractor.
"Fine, but if I do, do something, just know that it's only because I love you." I leaned up and kissed his lips.
"I know. I love you, too." I said. He smiled and we went into the shed to get some saddles for today. After carrying them back to the tractor we got in and went home.
"Oh hey there, Max. What are you doing here?" Dad said.
"I wanted to hang out with Rain and help you guys with some stuff," he said. Dad nodded and put the hose down. He was squirting off the porch and cleaning some things up. I guess Daddy took everyone out.
"Where is everyone?" I asked.
"Daddy took them down the trail to pass time. Some of them want to go riding if you don't mind."
I nodded and said, "Who?"
"Just some of the girls and Joe said she would go, too."
I nodded and said, "Good thing we got some saddles out of the storage shed."
"Good thinking, they should be back in a little bit." I nodded and Max took my hand. He led me to the fence and we sat down on it. After five more minutes, Daddy came back with everyone trailing behind him.
"Hey, Rain, you guys ready to go riding?" Daddy said. I nodded and jumped down off of the gate.
Max followed me and I went into the field and whistled. Sully came running to me with Ying Yang following him. I laughed a little as Ying Yang tried to keep up and I heard all the girls go, "Awe!" I smiled as I opened the gate and Sully came out. Ying Yang stayed back a little and trotted off towards Daisy, a spotted grey horse. Sully nuzzled me and I laughed.
"Hey, Sully," I said. He followed me to the others and I saw Johnny talking to Andy and I sighed. I guess he won't be going with us. . .not that I care or anything. I got to admit, he grew up to be a good looking guy. He's nice and tan with a tone body, shortish blonde hair and is about the same height as me. He looked like a jock and honestly, if I didn't have Max I'd probably be crushing on him. Johnny turned his head towards me and I quickly looked away. I got on Sully and dad helped the others on the other horses. Max got on his favorite horse Bailey and we started riding down the trail with the girls laughing and talking behind us.
(Johnny's Pov)
I saw Rain staring at me with a thoughtful look on his face. He quickly turned away when I looked at him and Andy sighed. "Dude, he's not worth your time. Remember? He's just a gothic loser," Andy said. I nodded and bit my lip. I suddenly felt super defensive over Rain. I mean yeah, he's changed a lot but so have I. And he's not the one who turned out to be an asshole. Cherry came up to me followed by Justin.
"Hey, Johnny," she said.
"Hey, Cherry, what do you need?" I asked.
"You know that black and white pony?" she said. I rolled my eyes at her calling him a pony.
"Actually, it's a colt but go on," I said.
"Well, we're thinking about messing with it. Just scare the little guy and make him hide," Cherry said. That's a stupid idea! Would if it gets so scared it runs out into the road and gets hit! I of course didn't say that so I just smiled and shook my head.
"Oh, okay. Well, you guys go ahead," I said. She nodded and walked over to the fence. She got out her phone and turned on her siren app. She hopped the fence and walked up behind the colt and put the siren right up to his ear and turned it on. Andy gave me a worried glance when he started running around in panic and it ran out of the open fence. Just as I feared, it ran out into the road just as a car was coming. I screamed for it to stop but it was too late. The colt was hit and the car just kept on going.
Cherry quickly ran out of the field and said, "Oh my god! What did you do?!" I looked at her in shock.
"What did I do?! You're the one who did it!" I said. She smirked and I saw Rain's parents come running over to me. Gabe ran out to the street while I David glared at me.
"What the hell?! We told you not to do that and look at what happened! I expected more from you!" he snapped at me.
Andy was about to defend me when Cherry said, "Johnny, why didn't you listen to me? I told you not to!" I looked at her and then at David.
"It wasn't me!" I yelled.
"David! Come here!" Gabe shouted and I saw him with Ying Yang in his arms. He had blood all over his shirt and I felt my heart break. I could have stopped this. I could have told Cherry no. But just because I wanted to be cool like them I had to let them do this! And now they think I did it!
"Cherry, what the hell?!" Andy said.
"What?" she said innocently.
"I'm telling." She smiled and shrugged.
"Do what you like. They're not going to believe you."
"I hate you!" I yelled.
"Oh, go cry about it." Cherry said. I glared one last time before running up to Gabe and David. I can still fix this. . .
