Chapter Thirteen

(Johnny's Pov) I walked inside my house with my bag and my mom came running over to me. She trapped me in a tight hug and smiled but frowned when she saw my face. "Honey, what's wrong?" she asked. I bit my lip and tears slid down my cheeks. "Mom, I need him," I said. "Need who? What are you talking about?" she asked worried. "Rain," I said before bursting into tears. She hugged me tightly and said, "Rain? That boy from the old house?" I nodded and explained to her everything that happened. "You're in love with him? Honey, are you sure?" "I've never been more sure about anything in my whole life. I love him, mom. I really do," I said. Mom rubbed my back and sighed. "I'm sorry, sweetie, I really am. I don't know what to tell you," she said. "Can we move there? Maybe visit?" I asked. "I'll talk to your father about it. I love you, sweetie, but I don't think we'll be able to do anything about this. They live a long way away from us and it will cost too much money to visit." I nodded and thanked her. I walked upstairs and put my bag in my closet. I turned on my TV and started to watch the news. My door opened and my father walked in. "Hey, sport," he said. I waved and said, "Hey, Dad." "Your mother told me what's going on. I have to say, I'm pretty shocked," he said, "I never imagined you would date a boy let alone be in love with one. I respect your decision though. Maybe you should try to date other people? I don't think you'll ever see Rain again," he said sadly. I bit my lip and nodded. "I understand," I whispered. "Maybe Rain can visit here?" "He doesn't know where I live, he didn't want a relationship like that anyway," I said. "I'm really sorry, son. It's just we're in New York and he's all the way in the country." "It's okay, Dad, really I'm fine. You don't have to explain it. I understand." He sighed and nodded. "Why don't you go see Andy? Maybe he can help you," Dad said. "Andy's hanging out with his girlfriend. They asked if I wanted to come but I rather not be the third wheel," I said. "Oh. If you need to talk about anything your mother and I are here. I'm sure you'll figure something out." I nodded and he walked out of my room. I sighed and looked up at my ceiling. "What am I going to do?" I whispered. (Rain's Pov) "Rain, are you okay?" Dad asked. I lifted my head up from the math work sheet I was working on and nodded. "Because we don't have to have school today. I know how upset you are." "Dad, I'm fine. Really," I said. He sighed and nodded. I finished the last lesson for today and walked outside. Daddy went to go pick up Ying Yang so I decided to go into town. I walked to the market and walked inside. I looked around for some snacks and drinks to buy but instead saw something else. There was this really cute boy with glasses on and blonde hair standing at the counter with a Monster in his hand. Maybe I should try to talk to him. . . .No, what about Johnny? I mean it's not like I'm dating him. Plus, I have to move on, right? I got a bag of chips and a monster and walked up to the counter. He smiled at me and said, "Hi, is that all?" "Yeah," I said and smiled. "You have a nice smile," he said and blushed. "Sorry, I meant to say that in my head." He sounded embarrassed and I laughed a little. "Don't worry about it, thanks by the way." He smiled and said, "It's going to be $5.45." I gave him the money and said, "Are you new around here? I've never seen you before." "Yeah, I just moved here a couple of weeks ago." I nodded and grabbed the bag of stuff. "Oh, well I can show you around town sometime," I said. "Really? That'd be awesome." "Yeah, what time do you get off? I can show you around town and then you can come to my house for dinner," I said. He smiled and looked at the clock. "Right now actually." He took off his apron and followed me outside. I started showing him the different shops and stuff in town and we talked about his old town. "So, I'm from the city but my dad thought that it'd be better in a rural area." I nodded and he followed me to my house. "I've lived here all my life. Most people are kind of surprised actually because of the way I look," I said. "I think you look pretty cool," he said. I smiled and he looked up at the sign. "Moyer's Ranch? You have horses?" he asked. "Yes, a lot of them," I said. We walked into my ranch and saw my dads sitting on the porch. They exchanged a confused glance at each other and I smiled at them. "Hey, guys this is-" I blushed and looked at the guy. "I actually never caught your name," I said. "I'm Blake." My dads smiled at him and said, "Nice to meet you, Blake. I'm Gabe and this my husband David." "Nice to meet you guys, too," he said. "We'll be in my room," I said and pulled him into the house. He followed me up to my room and I set the snacks down on my bed. "You know you never told me your name," he said. I blushed and said, "Rain. My names Rain." He walked up to me and smiled. "That's a unique name." I shrugged and said, "I guess. I like it because I like the Rain. Although I'm scared of storms." He chuckled and nodded. "I don't like storms very much, either." I smiled and looked into his brown eyes. He looked into my green ones and said, "You have pretty eyes." I blushed and he looked down at my lips. He started to lean in and I did the same. As soon as his lips touched mine something felt wrong. I pulled away and shook my head with tears in my eyes. "I'm sorry, did I do something wrong?" he asked. "No, I did," I said and tried to calm myself down. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that." "No it's fine, I'm used to people not really liking me," he said and sighed. "It's not that, I promise it's not that. It's a long story," I said. He shrugged and smiled. "I got time," he said and I explained to him the whole situation with Johnny and Max. He slowly nodded and said, "I understand now. That's a tough situation, I'm sorry your going through that. But I'll help you, we don't have to date or whatever. We can just be friends. I'm sure you'll see Johnny again someday. And if I ever see Max I'll punch him in his mouth." I smiled and hugged Blake. "Thanks, Blake. I'm happy I met you," I said. "No problem, Rain. I better head home before it gets dark out. I'll come over tomorrow and see how you're doing." He hugged me one last time before walking out of my room. I sighed and sat on my bed and ate some chips while listening to music.
