At the Keys, the mansion that had always been lively with laughters, embellished with happiness, but this once joyful environment turned into a sorrowful one. The daughter of the well known doctor Keys died and the cause of her death was deduced as competitor's jealousy and a mere murder. But who could have thought that the murderers were no one else but Dan, her fiancé and Sara the one she considered as a sister.
"My little princess, it was my fault, I didn't protect you well.", Mr. Eric Keys sobbed in front of his daugter's coffin. She lay quietly in her coffin, peacefully as if her mind was finally at peace once she found death. She was just as beautiful as her mother when she lay in her coffin twelve years ago.
It was this same scene that he didn't want to witness once again. This same scene that took his wife away from him and now it was his only daughter.
"Sorry princess, daddy didn't protect you.", Eric sobbed bitterly, laying in front his daughter's coffin with Desma who knelt by his side. It was true that Jane wasn't related to her by any way, neither did they have another close relationship, but she still considered her as a family. At least she was her step daughter, the daughter of the man she loved.
"Dont torture yourself so much Eric, Jane wouldn't love to see you this way, your health mattered a lot for her."
Yes, his health mattered a lot, it mattered so much to her that she followed seeveral years of training, learning modern and ancient medicine to be able to keep him alive. She finally did and she came up with the best cure for him, he still remembered when she came home in a mess, and few injuries, yet she was smiling. She wasn't smiling because she loved pain, she was smiling because of him, because she could cure him from his cardiac problem.
'Dad, I got it, you would live long and we would grow old together...'
Those words from her and her expression at that moment would forever stuck in his mind, but as long as he kept thinking about it, his heart couldn't help being stabbed. He wasn't able to save his late wife from death and now he also lost his only child.
"Uncle, please punish me.", Sara suddenly flopped in front of Eric, yet he remained indifferent of her presence and focused on his forever sleeping daughter.
"It was my fault, I didn't protect Jane, if only I had followed her, she...she..."
"Enough....", Eric waved his hand and got up with the help of his wife who hadn't left his side the whole time.
"I'm glad that you kept my daughter company all these years, I should be grateful instead."
"Uncle?", Sara lifted up her head and looked at Eric with a pitiful face, but what she hoped wasn't Eric turned away face, nor his indifference towards her. She knew that this mighty man, who always showed his cold side to the world, still however had a warm side, but no matter what she did, that warm side of his was always reserved to his daughter.
She was obviously death, but she still couldn't match her and have Mr. Eric Keys look at her with a tender heart, at least he could comfort her for the lost. Everyone knew that Jane Keys and Sara Keys were both like sisters, but reality was even more real than it seemed. Over her years of service at the Keys she received everything an adopted daughter could receive. Was it education, wealth, shelter or any basic need, she had it all, but not once did Eric let her call him by a parental title, nor did he give he add her in the famy pedigree.
She had everything, but she considered herself as Jane's servant girl, her dog that had to feed on the crumbs.
"I'm tired, you can pay your respect to Jane on your own.", Eric said nonchalantly as he walked away with Desma help.
'Why...why even after your death I'm still insignificant in his eyes...damn you Jane, I would definitely take everything that should have been mine. I took Dan and I would take your name, fame and title of the heir, even your dear father.', Sara denounced with determination, but everything only flaoted in her mind.
She was angry looking at the peaceful corps that lay in fronr of her, and though she should have been happy, she was still fuming of anger just by looking at Jane's corps.
'Even after your death, you're still so beautiful.', Sara groaned inwardly and the more she looked at the death girl in front of her, the more envious she became, she regretted why she didn't disfigure her when she pierced her with four stabs, at least she wouldn't be so angry just watching her. She was obviously death, but it felt like watching sleeping beauty on her bed, as if in no time Jane would wake up and come at her. Chills ran down Sara's spine down to her toes at such thought and though she knew it was impossible, her body couldn't help tremble, as if Jane wasn't far, but close and somewhere waiting to strike at her most critical moment.
'No, she's death and I killed her with my own hands', Sara confirmed to herself and paid her last respect to Jane. Others who watched her from a far would think she's a filiale friend, but no one could tell that she was nothing more but a viper that killed Jane without remorse.
"Save trip to hell, dear 'best friend', hmph", Sara thought, but she despised the word 'best friend', causing Jane even when she knew the truth but if only she knew the truth about Jane's location, she might fall over.

"Atchoum!", As if she had felt someone cursed her, Louisa(Jane) snizzed, but Ermine who had arrived in the garden panicked.
"Miss, did you catch a cold?"
"A cold...?",Louisa repeated, but though she was still new to this mysterious body, she could tell that it wasn't so frail to the point of catching cold because such a little wind. But she did have a strange feeling, a kind of ambiguous feeling.
"Miss, if you caught a cold you shouldn't stay out here.", Ermine respondes after she didn't receive a reply.
"No, I didn't catch a cold...it was just an ambiguous feeling."
