"Grandma, I can admit to certain faults, but not the current one."
"..."
Louisa's words were neither direct nor did they deny the truth, however it wasn't clear to which fault she was denying and which one was she accepting. It was obvious to everyone around that Susan had been seriously injured by someone, so it didn't make sense if Louisa admitted and denied at the same time.
"Sister, you're speaking Greek, which makes everyone not to grasp the hidden truth behind your words."
Hidden truth?
Yasmine was surely emphasizing that she was deliberately hiding the truth away from grandma or more, trying to lie to their grandmother on purpose. She was dignified and her words didn't reveal her hostility towards her, but kind words from a loving elder sister.
Yasmine was sure playing her role as an elder sister. Using others to condemn her and as well proving to others that she was indeed a filial child. Honest and kind even to her offenders. She was very versed in her words, selective and calculative, but Louisa wasn't bothered.
It was a challenge that she would gladly take. If Yasmine wanted to trick her with words, she would show her that she was more prepared than she was.
"Sister seems to have taken over the Greek words, implying hidden meaning to your phrases."
"You got me wrong, grand ma just simply asked a question, but you gave a vague answer. As a member of the Woods, you should know how to answer grand ma. Unless 'sister still needs to visit the health center."
"Thanks for sister's 'concern', but health center only accommodates the health deranged. I also heard they had a new talented doctor with sugar coated words as a cure words lately, his talents are quite admirable, does sister want to give a visit?"
"How dare!"
Yasmine slammed the table, she couldn't believe that Louisa had actually dared to call recommend her to a with sugar coated words as a cure. Isn't she directly implying that she should visit a psychiatrist. It was clear that she was calling her a mentally deranged and by adding the talents of the psychologist, wasn't it clear that her case wasn't simple which needed professional care. This was clearly and insult to the number scholar of a prestigious school. Everyone knew she was not until beautiful but a genius. So how could a once dummy treat her as a mentally deranged person?
'Damn Louisa, then don't blame me.'
"Grandma you heard her, I was being
kind to help but sister just called me a mentally deranged."
The old lady frowned at Louisa
"Louisa, what do you have to say about your arrogance?"
"What else does she have to say, grand ma you have to punish her for her crimes."
Yasmine gave an excited yell as if she been impatient for that moment, like a kid expecting a lollipop from her mother. Maybe it was indeed a lollipop for her because she enjoyed watching Louisa suffer. In the past, the previous Louisa always ended up being punished or flogged. No matter if she was guilty or not, her grandma would always hurry to punish her as long as her little princess poured accusations over her head.
However, they failed to realize yet that Louisa was no longer the easily bullied girl who accepted every pain and despise in silence.
"Since you're guilty, you should..."
"Wait grandma, I don't agree..."
The old lady frowned once more as soon as she was cut off by Louisa. She couldn't believe that the little lass had not only compromised her author but she also dared to deny her fault.
"How bold of you to dare compromise my authority."
"I dare not grand ma, but I just think grandma is being biased here. Sister barely said few words, but you immediately condemned me. As a daughter of the Woods, don't I have the right to speech..."
"You..."
The old lady tried to bring out few words, but later had to keep it in wait. No matter how she had despised Louisa, she had to admit that the girl was no longer the frail dummy that accepted everything in silence. Her words were justified, calm and more importantly she was very polite, never once agitated, but confident and quite uncanny.
She was neither impulsive nor in a rush with her words, but clearly stated facts that she could deny even if she wanted. Unable to refute her, the old lady waved her hand at Louisa who still kept a calm composure.
"Go ahead,I'll like to hear what you have to say."
"I definitely won't disappoint grandma."
"You really better not...", Yasmine sneered at Louisa. Though she was annoyed with the fact that her grand mother had actually allowed Louisa to have her words, she couldn't be bothered for now. She was sure that Louisa had already fallen in her trap and no matter how she strived to break free from it, she would end up even more entangled.
'Just you wait Louisa.'
"Sister you seem offense, but I don't think I offended you.", Louisa innocently asked
"Really, then what about your words of classifying me as an A list mentally retarded. You're obviously the one who's mentally retarded and needs my intervention."
"That's it?"
"Dare you deny it?"
"I dare.", Louisa said calmly, causing a ruckus and whispers among the maids who dared not let their words heard for fear that they might get in trouble. However, the words had clearly reached Louisa's ears.
"She actually dared?'
'Old lady would definitely not let this go.'
'She's still a dummy after all, I thought she was going to say something reasonable, but she still dug a deeper hole for herself'
"Sigh, what a pity, she seemed to have grasp some good words. For a moment I thought highly of her.''
Every word aimed at her and none had encouraged her or seemed to be a pity for her who was obviously a victim. They all despised her and it was fine, she would take her time to make everyone bow to her in there was no rush.
"You actually dared admit it, grand ma, do yo hear that..."
"No rush sister, I indeed admit my words, but yours are obviously not mine."
"What are you trying to say?"
"Well, sister, I heard you would specialize in medicine in the future."
"What does that have to do with all that you said."
Yasmine frowned, but couldn't grasp the reason why Louisa would suddenly ask her such a question at the moment. It was true that she decided to work in the medical domain in the future once she graduates from high school. This was one of the reasons why the old lady loved her, everyone knew about it. But why would Louisa suddenly bring it up?
"Just now I was just being considerate and thought sister would love to take part in a practical knowledge of her choice of domain, but your words towards me implied that I would be your next patient. Are you cursing the Woods with a retarded illness.
"W...what, when did I say that..."
Louisa gave a sigh of dissatisfaction and gave a clear understanding of her words. No one could deny that she was right, she had indeed wished the best for Yasmine, but she received a curse or more it was a curse over the Woods.
Though Yasmine felt that she was the one who had actually been wronged, she had no choice but to seal her lips once she had seen the old lady's frown. Terrorised and yet burning with anger, Yasmine saw that saying more would cause her to be impulsive. Besides, Louisa's version had already created a greater impacts in there minds of others. Her words had set traps for her and she easily fell in it lime a beginner.
Rather than the others despising Louisa like what they had first done, everyone was rather sympathizing with her.
'This b***h!', Yasmine cursed whole gritting her teeth, but she ignored her anger now and looked at her grand mother with tears welling down her cheek.
"Grandma I was wrong, I didn't mean all that. It was just a moment of confusion."
"Fine, let's forget it, it's good that you know your wrong."
Just like that, the old lady waved away Yasmine's fault and it was to be forgotten as if it had never once happened. Her so called grand mother was being unfair. If she had been the one at this moment in Yasmine's place, she probably would have received flogs until her body was sore, but now that it was Yasmine, she simply waved away her fault.
There was no way Louisa was going to keep quiet and watch everything silently.
"I don't agree."
