LITTLE HOPE

1110 Words
"Sorry, I was impulsive just now and almost hurt you.", The man immediately let loose his hand from Louisa's neck, but his grip had been so tight that she got traces on her neck, then the pain could let imagine how much air tight she had felt. "Did I...hurt you.", Though a fierce expression has trampled her at fast attack by the blind injured, Louisa couldn't blame him. Those who had indeed hurt her to the core didn't feel remorseful, not even a bit, so how could she blame a blind who's world was only darkness. His actions could only be justified with instincts and human defense facing an unknown danger. "I don't blame it on you, I guess your actions are all but intentional, considering your condition." It was indeed normal, but what wasn't normal was the fact that a blind person, ignorant of his environment actually found himself in the woods, 'wasn't it a direct venture into the lion's den?'. Louisa couldn't tell why, but she thought it was needless to ask him, as they might never meet, but she might as well help him. "Just now, did you...." "You were poissoned by an extremely dangerous poisson, this type of poisson is transfered from the mother to the child, of which I guess you're aware. I don't have a cure for it, so I could only help you suppress the pain." "Thanks, I feel much better." "Then I shall take my leave, do you need me to help you back?", Louisa asked with politeness, she didn't want to associate with a stranger she had just met, but she couldn't ignore him either. "Thanks, but my subordinate should be here soon." "Then I can rest assured.", Louisa replied nonchalantly, and turned to leave asap because she still had one last round before heading back. "Are you a doctor, I've never seen you before." "Yes, we haven't met before, but you don't know all the doctors, how could you tell if I'm one or not." "Considering my condition, I've met quite a number and none with special curing methods as effective as yours." Louisa couldn't reveal her identity, because she was Louisa now, though she had Jane's knowledge. This man was a stranger now, but what about tomorrow ? Her words might become a blow for her tomorrow, so she needed to be careful and stay alive, at least till she had achieved her ultimate goal. "Would you believe I'm just an unknown apprentice, not even my family could tell." "Then if you don't mind, can I know your name?" 'My name?', her name was Jane, but it wasn't Jane who stood in front of him, it could have been an empty shell, but it was indeed her. She had to accept it once and for all, she was no longer Jane Keys, but Louisa Woods. "Louisa, Louisa Woods.", she replied nonchalantly, not giving the blind man a second glance nor attention. But he didn't cast off his glance from her, though he wasn't able to see the one who had just left him, he could feel her warm shadow distancing itself. Not that he got interested in her as a woman, but she pricked his curiosity and more. "Young master...the lady just now....", his subordinate appeared out of a sudden as if he had been waiting. But he had indeed been waiting on his master ever since he was asked to leave him during his moment of agony. But he didn't expect someone would actually cure his master from the monthly pain that took over his body from birth. "I never expected that she who had been bestowed to me by aunt would turn out to become a valuable one." "Over the years old madam hadn't bestowed any good girl to you, I'm afraid she didn't know about Miss Wood's hidden capacity. I remember her saying she was an apprentice, unknown to her family." "An apprentice, hein." "I heard the young Miss Louisa that had been bestowed unto you was nothing more but a dummy. She wasn't liked by the family, so she was sold to White in order to break the curse on you." 'A curse ?', who didn't know about the so called rumour that the eldest young master of the Whites has been cursed from birth, so all his brides were bound to die after being married to him for at most three months, but it's been four months since Louisa was married to him, yet she didn't follow the fatal fate as others. "It seems my aunty didn't get a hold of the situation, did she perharps decide to end the rumoured curse?" "I don't know about her plans, but few days ago Miss Woods had been in a coma." "I see.", Helios White sighed as soon as he realized that he had probably been bestowed a savior, which his vicious aunt might not be aware for some reasons. "Then young master, about Miss Woods." "Let's observe for a while, I believe she's definitely not simple." 'Observe?', it was probably not enough to observe with just his senses, Helios wished he could see the person that stopped his pains after decades of long torture. The doctors he had hired could only help him not to agonise till death, but she actually did more than that, though he wasn't cured, he still believed, that perharps there was hope. "Help me back Lewis." ".... During this time Louisa had just returned home and stood in front of the double wooden door. Looking at it closely she already had the feeling of a strong oppression, but she still pushed it open and what didn't expect to see was an angry old woman probably in her sixties. She was dressed in a conservative cheongsam, elegant covered with jewelries. At first glance, one could tell she wasn't an easy going person, but if her memory served right, this person should be.... "You finally know how to come back." She protested arrogantly, glaring at Louisa, while her so called sisters smirked with victory. She knew that life here won't be easyvas walking in a bed of roses, but she had prepared herself to the worst. After all, she had already seen worser than this after being betrayed by the one whom she considered as soulmates. "Good day grand mother!" "You finally know that you have a grandmother and you dare act reckless. On your knees!", She yelled furiously and Louisa had no choice but to obey, as for what she was being accused of, she could only settle it wisely and preserve her life.
