CHAPTER 03: FAKING WHAT IS REAL   LIAM’S P. O. V.   My blood is boiling now with anger. In front of me is Ivory. He smirked at me. We both sat in front of Dean’s desk. But for Ivory, it seems like nothing just happened. He winked at me and chuckled. Argh! I really hate him! I have little patience with him! I will actually gnaw his fingers like a dog when the consequences are bad after this talk with Dean! “So, Mr. Ortiz, ” I almost peed into my own pants after Dean Carl called my last name. “Y-Yes, De-Dean.?” I firmly closed my eyes. “What are you doing with Mr. Borja in the hallway? ” his question. “Dean, this is how—” “Did you know you’re late for class? Or maybe you forgot that you are in fourth-year college? You adults should be a good example to the freshmen and the younger year levels to you,” I slowly nod my head. I opened my eyes and turned to Dean. There was a look of disappointment on his face. “I’m sorry, Dean,” he sighed. He stared at me and took off his eyeglasses. “It is still considered that you are the running for Magna Cum Laude, Mr. Ortiz,” he stopped and faced Ivory. “And you, Mr. Borja as Summa Cum Laude, ” he clicked his tongue. “But I won’t tolerate this kind of action,” Dean Carl firmly said. “Or should I considered giving the ranks to other deserving students?” he threatened. I shook my head quickly. “No, please, Dean. Please don’t. P-Promise, Ivory, and I won’t do it again. right, Ivory?” But Ivory seemed not listening. “What?” I facepalmed. “As the dean of this school, I declare that you two are,” he was interrupted when his cellphone rang. “Wait a minute,” he picked up his cell phone and answered the call. “Hello? This is Dean Carl — oh! Mrs. Perez! How are you?” Dean left the seat and came out, and continued talking on his phone. I faced Ivory, who was currently looking up at the ceiling. I dimly kicked his foot. “Aw! What’s your problem, baby girl?” he sneered. “Don’t call me baby girl!” with greeted teeth, I said. I rolled my eyes at him and threw my hands in the air. “You know what? I surrender, Ivory. Okay. You won. Call me baby girl all you want. But could this be the last time you bully me?” “Of course… not. I will still and forever continue teasing you, baby girl,” My teeth were gnashing. “Ivory,” “Yes, baby girl?” he smirked. I was about to strangle Ivory when the door suddenly opened, and we saw Dean Carl with a wide smile dancing on his lips. “Should I know anything because of the extent of your grin, Dean!? What? Are you and Mrs. Perez going on a date now? ” Ivory’s unbridled question to Dean. I rounded my eyes at him, signaling to stop talking. “What did you say?” Dean asked seriously. That was really the end of my dreams. “I said, you have a big smile. It looks like your conversation with Mrs. Perez ended up on a date, ”Ivory said calmly. “Shut up,” I whispered in the air. But Dean’s answer was contrary to what I expected. Dean laughed softly. “You really like to keep up, Mr. Borja. Yes. Finally, Mrs. Perez agreed to our date this Sunday,” my eyes widened as Ivory gave Dean a high-five. “That’s right, Dean! We are a tough stud! We don’t know how to give up until we tame the sheep,” they both laughed. I scratched my head and took a heavy sigh. Ivory cleared his throat. “Let’s change the topic, Dean. Can we… skip what you saw with us earlier? Also, what’s wrong with us hugging Dean? It’s like you’re not hugging anyone,” he insisted, shaking his head. “I will only skip if there is a valid reason,” “I’m courting him, dean,” Ivory said. Suddenly my heart pounded in shock. “W-What?” I narrowed my eyes at him. “What !? Are you dating Mr. Ortiz? ” Ivory bobbed his head. Dean confronted me. “Is this true, Mr. Ortiz? ” I shook quickly. “No, Dean!” I refuse. Dean folded his arms and stared sharply at Ivory. “Are you fooling me, Mr. Borja?” Ivory laughed coyly. “Dean. Liam is just ashamed of you. But what I’m saying is true, Dean. I’m courting Mr. Ortiz, ”he stopped talking and put his arm around my waist tightly as he whispered in my right ear. “If you don’t want us to be punished, then fake a yes and pretend what I’m saying is true.” “What are you doing!” I whispered angrily to him. “Come along, or we’ll both be sorry,” Ivory laughed as he removed her hand from my back. “You’re really funny, Liam,” he faced Dean Carl. “Dean, he said, he’s really embarrassed because he hasn’t answered me yet. He doesn’t want me to rely on his sweet yes, and I might just be busted, ” Argh! He’s making up stories again! “I want to hear the words from your mouth, Mr. Ortiz. And I don’t want you to lie. Because when I find out that you two are just fooling me, I will remove you two from the spot for your graduation,” Dean threatened. Large grains of cold sweat formed on my forehead. I have no habit of lying. But may God forgive me because I seem to be lying now. “I-It’s true, Dean,” I stopped talking and forced a smile. “Ivory is currently dating me. I’m really ashamed of you, Dean, because no one should know about the two of us yet. You know he’s a heartthrob here on campus. His fans will hate me when they find out that Ivory is courting with me,” Ivory laughed softly. “Did you heard that, Dean?” Dean Carl let out a sigh and nodded weakly. “Okay. I will give it to you now. But next time, be careful because I will really punish you two. I’ll keep an eye on you two to see if it’s true that there’s something about you and Mr. Ortiz,” Ivory and I both nodded. “You two can leave now, and may the outcome of your love be good. Love wins!” “Thank you, Dean,” Ivory and I said at the same time. We looked at each other. I averted my eyes first because he winked at me again. “You’re blushing, Liam,” he declared. “Ha. Ha. Ha. You are funny, Ivory, ”I replied sarcastically. “Go ahead. You two can leave now. You two may be late for your next class, ” “All right, Dean,” Ivory held my hand together. “Let’s go, Liam. We still have a class to chase, ” I don’t know, but I gradually liked how he holds on to my hand.
