Krystal
I am now on my way to my club room. And I have not yet met all my seniors in the club because I did not want to meet them all though. I think that is the case.
Whenever I am at my club, all I do is stack piles of music albums and movies, which I thought were really fun but was surprisingly tiring. I mean dude, there are students who borrow albums as well as movies at my club and when the time that they bring it back, they just put it in a basket and we are the ones who are going to put them all back.
I heard that every month there are new albums and movies that are mailed to our club.
To be honest, I like that the school is still supporting this club even though I was the only one who joined the club as a new member for 2 years. I broke the hiatus between people joining the club.
“Excuse me.” Someone said behind me. I turned to see who the person was. I think that the person is a girl because of her voice.
“Do you need anything?” I asked her. Since I am now in front of my club, I am thinking that she will borrow or bring back what she borrowed. And because it is my duty to take care of people who go in and out of our club, I have to be able to ask the needs of others.
Besides, they pay for our service with money and what we do with the money is to take it to the school's treasurer and the school buys books, papers, pencils, bags, and other things for school for students that cannot afford to buy things like that.
I just heard this on Wednesday and I was really shocked to hear it. If I knew, I would always have to go early just so we can accommodate more and more students to borrow albums and movies here.
“Uhmm… This is a broadcasting club room, right?” A girl suddenly stopped and asked in front of me.
“Why the hell is she asking such a common sense question?” I asked myself as I tried to look at the name of our club that can be seen well with your naked eyes.
After I looked at the name, I looked at her again.
“She does not seem like a person who has problems with eyesight,” I said to myself. She does not use glasses or contact lenses to me.
“Yeah, you are in the right club. May I know why you asked?” I asked her.
“Uhmm… I have a---letter---here.” She said, stuttering. She seems like she is shy to say what she really wants. If I was not a girl, I would say she likes me, referring to the way she acts towards me right now.
“What letter? That one?” I asked her as I saw a piece of paper in her hand.
“Yeah.” She replied without looking into my eyes.
“What are you going to do with that letter then?” I asked her as I tried to help and tell her what to say so we could understand each other.
“I want to confess to my crush but I can’t say it to him personally. I saw in some movies and series that they write letters and let the radio broadcast their feelings. I wanted to try it here too.” She said to me. Her mind is full of romance, I guess.
“I see. So that is the reason why she is here.” I said to myself as the pieces came together.
“I understand, but unfortunately, we do not do that here.” I replied to her.
I did not mean to bust her bubbles, but I only said the truth to her. I read the memo we have here and it did not state that we try those kinds of things.
“Really? I am willing to pay for the cash well.” She said and then suddenly my eyes sparked.
“I think I can ask my seniors about this,” I said to myself. I also have the idea that if we start doing this, it will make our club more famous and more funds will come to our club and we can help lots of kids.
“Really?” She said with joy. Just looking at her smile makes me want to do it more. Although that is just an addition, I really want to help her too.
“Yeah. Just wait here for a minute, I will talk with my senior.” I said to her as I instructed her what to do.
Thankfully, that area outside our club room is full of trees, so everyone will feel good while standing outside.
I opened the door and as soon as I did, I saw a very familiar face before me. There is no way I will forget this person’s name.
“Hi. Good afternoon.” I said to him as soon as he turned to look at me.
“The new member, right?” he asked while pointing at me, but not in a bad way. He is the person who talked with me in the stalls, the guy who joined the club because of his crush and now his boyfriend.
“Yeah.” I replied to him shortly.
“It is good to see you. Finally, we met.” He said to me as he offered his hand to shake mine. So I shook his hand.
“I saw your name in the paper last time and I realized that you are actually the great Krystal Evans. My name is PP. It is nice to see you again.” He said to me while still shaking my hand.
“Great. You must have heard a lot about me,” I said to him.
“I did. But I don’t care. I personally don’t think you are the kind of person that they have been talking about.” He said to me.
“You can never be so sure.” I replied to him as I casually put my bag on the sofa right next to where he was standing.
“Well, I am not like those dorks talking about you. Who am I to judge you when you did not even despise me when I told you I was in a relationship with a guy.” He said to me.
I just hope that people are like him, but unfortunately not.
“Thanks. That is all I can say to you right now,” I said to him.
“Cool.” He replied happily.
“Oh! I almost forgot. Does the broadcasting room still be in use?” I asked him.
“Yeah, why did you ask?” He asked me curiously with matching lost eyes. I understand why his boyfriend fell from him, he has a very cute expression. He looks like a puppy.
“I wonder if we can use it to talk about some stuff like teenage stuff.” I said to him indirectly and hoping that he would get it.
“Like what you want to say to a person?” he said. Gladly he was able to get it.
“Yeah. You know like---students can write letters and we read them openly and leave them anonymously. They can write nicknames, we can put a box outside and they can put their letters there.” I said to him as I tried to explain it well.
“Whaa! That is a great idea. They can also leave their pay there," he replied.
“Of course,” I replied to him. We cannot let the service fee go away for sure.
“Cool. Let’s do it.” He said to me.
“Aren’t we going to ask others?” I asked him.
“I know for sure that they will go for it. Besides, we do not use broadcasting well. It is a pity to leave it there unused.” He said to me.
“Okay. There is a girl outside. She wants her letter to be read.” I said to PP.
“Cool, let’s get it.” He said to me, so I went next to the door and opened it.
“Hi, give me the letter. Don’t worry, we will try not to expose who you are.” I said to her.
“Thank you so much. Here is the pay.” She said and handed over the money.
“Thanks, we will read it tomorrow.” I said to her.
“Okay. I will go now. Thank you so much again.” She said to me and left, so I went back inside and locked the door.
“She gave me these.” I said to PP.
“Wow! This is a lot already.” He said as he took the money from my hand and put it in the fund box.
It is where we put our money. We let students pay for the things they borrow for what they can afford. What we do here in the club is more like a donation.
“It is,” I replied to him.
“So, what we are going to do now is to make two boxes. One for the letters and one for the donation. And tomorrow we will relay this to all the students by broadcasting the news.” He said to me.
“Wait. Can all the students here do it wherever they are on the campus?” I asked him.
“Yeah. There are speakers connected to the broadcasting room all over the campus,” he replied.
“I see.” I replied to him.
“But wait, will the principal be okay with this?” I asked him.
“Oh, yeah. I will leave a message for the principal to read.” He said to me as he took his phone and started trying.
“Leave a message on your phone?” I asked him surprisingly. I don’t think that what he is doing right now is right or he is just not in his right mind at the moment.
“Yeah. I am sorry, but I don’t think that what you are doing is appropriate.” I said to him honestly.
“Nah, it is okay. The principal in this school was a senior of ours in the broadcasting club,” he said to me.
“Really?” I asked him. I am surprised that I couldn’t say a word.
“Yeah. I just texted him.” He said to me.
“You really sent it?” I asked.
“Uh huh…and I got a reply now. Look.” He said to me and made me see his phone.
