Chapter 20

Aiden POV

When I turned around, I saw the wolf stalking toward us. It wasn't from my pack, it was a rouge. A rouge who didn't take his eyes off of Rylee. I told her to run as the wolf lunged. I shifted, crashing into him before he got very far. I heard Rylee scream and start running. This wolf was doing everything to get past me to get to her. We were biting and clawing at each other. He slipped past me and ran after her with me hot on his heels. I tackled him before he could get to her. He shifted and kicked my side, causing me to fall over as he ran off. I howled after him and continued to run. I saw her staggering away toward her house before she fell. He slowed down watching her. I was able to grab him and as he struggled against me I said, "I don't let rouges leave my territory alive but I'm in a good mood, if you turn away and leave. I'll let you live." he struggled and said "If I go back to them without her they'll kill me anyway." "Who!" I practically screamed. "Your ex wants her dead." Cable came to the surface and ripped out his throat before tossing him to the floor. I wasn't able to control him. His mate was threatened and hurt. I could see blood on the side of her face. I struggled to get back control but Cable wasn't having it. As we got closer, she lifted her head slightly and whispered my name. I screamed at Cable to give me control so I could help her. "No, it's my turn to protect my mate." He growled and shoved me back. All I could was watch. He picked her up and carried back to her house. He knocked on Ryders door asked for shorts and told Lauren to link the pack doctor since he cant do and I've been forced back.

Not even 5 minutes later the Doctor and my father, and Ally were here. Lauren called Ally thinking she would need her, girls can be more calming and since Cable isn't letting go of the hold he has. We stood next to the bed but up against the wall. My father was still acting Alpha so Cable had no choice but to listen when he told him to back off and let the Doc examine her. Ally came back from the kitchen with a bowl of warm water and a towel to clean her head up. "How's the wound Doc?" Ryder was sitting on the edge of bed watching and holding Laurens hand. "Nothing horrible. Its stopped bleeding a couple butterfly Band-Aids will do the trick. She should be good. I don't see any other wounds on her. Cable can you tell me exactly what happened." I tried forcing my way out again and cable with growl shoved me back. The growl however was loud enough it Jolted Rylee awake. She looked around and asked what happened. Cable pushing my father to the side rushed to her and picked her up making her yell. "Cable release her." My father yelled but he wouldn't. I could feel her fear. "your scaring our mate put her down and give me control." I yelled at him but he didn't. "cable as you can see your mate is awake and fine, but to make sure she is in perfect health I need to finish the exam. I don't care that you are an Alpha wolf, she is still human so I being the doctor over rule you. Now set her down and sit next to her. Now Cable." For the Doc being an older wolf he was still very stern. Cable set her down and walked around the bed to sit next to her. He pressed next to her head wound making her suck in a sharp breath. Cable growling at him. "You growl at me again Cable and ill give you a shot that'll make you sleep for at least a week, meaning no shifting. Which mean you cant do you job as an Alpha and protect her." He said not even looking. Cable just pouted making everyone laugh a little. "My dear can you tell me what happened?" Rylee nodded and told the whole story.

She looked at me with fear in her eyes. "You killed that guy by ripping his throat out?" Cable nodded. "He was going to hurt you. He said he was supposed to kill you." Everyone looked at Cable shocked. "Cable let Aiden back we need him." "No not till Mate is safe." He said grabbing her and placing her on our lap. "She's safe right now but we need to speak to Aiden to make sure we know what happened and to help you both keep her safe." He placed his face in her neck and nuzzled. "Mark." "Oh f**k he's going to mark her." Ally said. "Rylee you need to tell Cable to let Aiden come back." Ally whispered next to her. Rylee turned to look at Ally. "Just look him in the eye and tell him you need Aiden back." Rylee seemed to understand. I could see her through my eyes still. She pushed Cable back a little and got on her knees and held his face in her hands so he was looking at her. "Hi Cable is nice to kind of meet you. Hopefully soon I can see you in your body, but I do need you to bring Aiden back. Please. I need him." A single tear rolled down her cheek as she said those words. He whimpered and kissed her cheek. "For mate." He let me slide back forward and take control. I closed my eyes and when I opened them she was staring at me and looking nervous. I cupped her face in my hands and kissed her forehead. I looked at my father and nodded. "He's back." He sighed. "Good very good, now if someone will tell me what the bloody hell happened so I can treat the poor girl." the doctor said making me smile.

I told him the whole story as he looked over Rylee. She never let go of my hand. "Looks like I have an Alpha of another pack to call. Aiden assign a couple warriors to keep watch of her house and her family. In the morning we will call Alpha Devon about his daughter." My father said to me before walking out with the doctor. He gave her a clean bill of health just not to get her wound on her head wet till is scabs over. "Aiden why don't you come with me to get food for everyone and leave the girls alone." Ryder said. I didn't want to leave Rylee alone after what had just happened but she nodded and said Ally and Lauren were here to help in case. "I'll have Hayden patrol outside till you get back." Ally said before her eyes glazed over telling me she was mind linking him. I kissed Rylee's head when I felt her freeze up, but turned and left anyway. We walked outside and got into Ryders car. "Why didn't you ask Lauren to come." he sighed and started to drive. "Because my sister told me she's terrified of you. What she saw. she wanted you away from her for awhile. Lauren saw it in her eyes and felt my emotions and said she would talk to her about it. Watching you be an actual Alpha wolf whether protecting her or not must have really scared her." I looked at him. "What do you mean she felt your emotions." He slid his hoodie over and there on his neck was Laurens mark.
