Chapter 21

Rylee POV

When I woke up and saw Aiden, I was nothing but terrified when I saw him. I knew it was him that ripped that guy's throat out. I know he was a wolf and could easily kill, but to see it happen. I don't know if I wanted to be with him anymore. I pleaded to Ryder to get him out of here. I know my brother would be no match physically but if I could just get breathing room. Seeing his eyes black as night and hearing everyone say its his wolf at the surface. I wanted nothing more than to run away. When Ally told me to talk to cable to get Aiden back I was scared he'd snap and it would be my throat being ripped out. But he easily gave Aiden back control. Ryder was able to get him to leave and the girls stayed with me. As soon as I heard Ryders car pull away I broke down and sobbed. Ally and Lauren both sitting with me rubbing my back, comforting me. "I know its hard to see him like that, but I promise my brother would never hurt you. He was protecting you. That rogue was sent to kill you. First time I saw him like that was horrible. I didn't go near him for a week. after I talked to my dad about it I realized he is just doing his job as an Alpha. Protecting the pack. Like the warriors, Hayden outside. If someone was to try to attack, Hayden would stop them and kill them. If they got passed him, Lauren and I would shift and kill them. Its our job to keep you safe." She said rubbing my back as my crying slowly started to stop. "Why cause I'm a weak human?" I asked. "No cause you will be our Luna, and we keep the Luna safe when the Alpha is not around. If something bad were to happen to you, we'd be killed and Aiden would probably die as well." Lauren said as I sat up looking at her. "You're souls will be tied together when he marks you and he will feel all your emotions but not just that. You both will feel pain if either of you cheat, and if either of you die. It'll feel like you're being crushed from the inside out. But you will also never find anyone who will love you like him. When you open up and let him in, you'll feel whole and wont believe you lived with out him." She smiled softly. She looked at me and her cheeks blushed. "Does that mean I get to call you sister?" I asked already feeling the answer. She nodded. I hugged her and Ally thanking them.

By the time the boys have gotten back the girls and I were sitting on my bed laughing and talking about nothing. The walked with Ryder in front looking right at Lauren walking over setting the food down and kissing her deeply. "Ahhhh stop its still weird you're my brother." I tossed a pillow at them. He just glared. We stared at each other and argued in our heads. "anyone else jealous that they can talk like us but we cant share in their conversation." Ally said watching us. I wont repeat what Ryder said but my jaw dropped as he laughed and I stood up and jumped at him tackling him to the floor. I was able to roll him on his side trapping his arms as I punched his shoulder knowing I would leave a bruise. He has done it to me and its just something we do. "STOP!!" He yelled. "No say uncle." I said as I continued to punch. not hard at this point but just enough to still make the bruise hurt. "Lauren help me." He said. "No way babe, she's the Luna." He groaned. "Say it." I said through clenched teeth. "Fine. Uncle." I stopped hitting him. Leaned forward and kissed his cheek as he wiggled and tossed me off him. Me landing on my back laughing. I opened my eyes and saw Aiden staring at me also carrying a bag of food. I could see in his face the uncertainty. He knew what I had told Ryder. I know we needed to talk, but I was still scared of him no matter what the girls said. What if I make him mad enough for him to do that to me? I didn't want to think about it but his size and what his is. He could easily kill me like he did that guy. " I um got us food, wasn't sure if you were hungry or not." He said shyly holding the bag out to me. I sat up and grabbed it, nodding slightly. "Ally I got you and Hayden food, its on his car. You guys can take it home." "Lauren lets eat in the kitchen since i need to ice my arm." He said kneeing me in the back, not hard though. "you're welcome." I said jokingly as they walked out. "Call me Rylee if you want to talk. I'm here for you." Ally said before touching Aiden's arm and her eyes glazing over. She must have said something to him since he nodded and she walked out closing my door. I suddenly felt trapped.

As I sat on the floor, he sat on the edge of my bed and stared at me. I placed the bag down between us and just looked at him. "I'm sorry you saw what you saw but I'm not sorry I did what I did. I had to to protect you. I would do it again in a heart beat for you or my pack. Its my job as an alpha to do that. We didn't become so strong as a pack by being nice. We have brutal warriors and we don't show mercy. But we do it to protect our own." He said and slid onto the floor with me. I knew why they did it but the methods were... shocking. "I do understand. It just was something I don't think I was really planning to see, I guess. or seeing something like that never crossed my mind." I said. "But you did see it before when you first saw us shift." "You were still in your wolf form. So to me it was just wolf fighting I guess. Seeing you in your human form and ripping another's throat out. Yea kind a rocks your world a little bit." He hung his head as he realized what I meant. For us, it wasn't normal. We definitely were in their world now.

I did feel the urge to comfort him. I shocked him by standing up and walking to him and crawling into his lap. his eyebrows raised and he hand one hand on my back and the other under my legs holding the outside of my thigh. I leaned into him and smelled him. He doesn't wear cologne but to me he still smelt like it. He kissed the top of my head and wrapped his arms around me in a hug. "You know ill do anything to protect you and keep you happy. There is no other person for me. Just you." He said. I looked up at him and grabbed the back of his neck and pulled him into me. I kissed him and after we both were a little breathless. I didn't get off his lap but grabbed the bag and handed him a burger and popped a fry in my mouth. "So Ryder got marked." I said as Aiden grunted and nodded. "When are you marking me?" He froze. i looked up at him and his eyes were wide staring at the door. "I turned to look and saw Marissa standing there crying.
