Chapter 9

1187 Words
Rylee POV I was able to get that ball over head, I did land on my ass pretty rough. My ass is taking a beating today. The ball landed just on the line and my team wins. Aiden walks over to me as I lay on my back looks down, he holds out his hand to help me up and says "You win, you let me know when and I'll answer all your questions." I smiled. I opened my mouth to say something when a girl comes over and throw's herself literally on Aiden. "It's ok you lost baby, I'll make you feel better tonight." she said and I took a step back. Of course he has a girlfriend. He pushes her off him and steps back and looks at me. She glances my way and then turns and holds out her hand to shake. "I'm Marissa Aiden's girlfriend. You must be that new girl in town. Well just to give you some advice, Aiden is mine so stay away. Or I'll make you life hell." She says and smiles sweetly at me and I shiver, but stand my ground. "Honey listen, I don't want your boyfriend. I don't need your boyfriend. I'll  be leaving right after high school, so all I want to do is finish school and focus on my sports. So please don't think I'm trying to make a play for your man. I aint that desperate." I turned and walked to my bag. I could feel their eyes on me. I took off my shoes and pulled some baggy sweats on and my slides. Grabbed my sports bag and backpack and started to head to my car with my brother. I don't know why i was so angry, I shouldn't be. He shouldn't be flirty when he has a girlfriend, but at the very least mention he has one.      My brother could always feels my emotions, its a twin thing. So on the ride home he rambled on about something I wasn't really listening to but someone trying to distract from myself from my thoughts always helped me calm down. By the time we got home I was calmer and past the anger toward the "I don't care anymore he can go on and be happy" step. We walked in and my mom and dad were hugging and giggling in front of the stove. The door shut just as my dad was putting his head in my moms neck and making kissing noises. "God do you try to scar us for life?" Ryder says closing his eyes as he walks by. "I agree but I also thinks its cute, something to look up to." I say. "I'm grilling burgers and dogs for dinner. Ryder go shower and be down in an hour to help me." He said walking out of the kitchen with mom.     "You good?" Ryder asks me. I look up at him and shrug. "I know I shouldn't care since we just move and i sorta don't, it just made me feel like..." I cant finish as I'm on the verge of tears. Ruder walks over and hugs me. "I know i saw the look on your face, like a flashback. He could have told you he was seeing someone. I get you." He rubbed my back as i took a couple deep breaths to help from crying. "Yea, another reason i cant wait for the year to end so we can go to college, ill be too busy to deal with boys." I laugh slightly and thank him for the hug before heading to my room. I shower and let the hell water (I like showers hot) relax me and my sore ass. I slightly blow dry my hair to get it no just not drip wet. I toss it in a messy bun and put on shorts and one of Ryders old shirts. I took all his that he didn't like or outgrew cause they fit me just fine.  I started to work on my homework when I heard my phone chime. Grabbing it out of the bag i look at the screen and realize its been a few hours since i looked at it and i have a ton of notifications. One that catches my eye are texts from Aiden. I open the thread. Aiden:  "I don't know where to start except Marissa isn't my girlfriend likes she said. We've been on and off for years but I ended it with her for good. She just thinks we will get back together soon like we have in the past. I like you, and I want to get to know you better, that's why I bet a date with you. " I looked and read it a couple times and saw it was sent right after we left the school. hmmm I tossed it on my bed and went to study, Ill text him back later. I need to time to think.  I had just finished when Ryder opens my door and tells me to help him cause dad was driving him crazy. I laughed shook my head and headed downstairs with him. My dad was a master grill man. Anytime he stepped up t the grill you better move or be prepared to do exactly as he says. He was always dragging Ryder in as a way to pass down the grill skills wisdom as he called it. It just made Ryder try to run away. i joined everyone outside I sat down and watch dad lecture Ryder. Ryder needed me there to tell dad to lay off if he got too crazy. My mom came bursting out from the kitchen. "Our guests are here." Ryder and my eyes snapped to each other. We see Dads boss family walking toward us...with Aiden...and I never texted him back. NOT TO MENTION I LOOK LIKE CRAP. I pulled my hair down in a way to help it look somewhat cute. I knew my natural curls were making a show. Everyone walked to us as I basically stopped breathing. "I don't think I need to introduce everyone. Ill go get the wine." My mom said cheerfully. "I'll help you Aiden mom said. Aiden came and sat next to me looking at me while i was still looking at Ryder and he was looking at me. Everyone was watching us. I slapped the arm of the chair and Dad looked at us, then to everyone watching us. "Oh they are talking. They do this weird mind thing where they can have a conversation with out speaking. Twin thing." My dad shrugged. "Ryder we will continue the lesson later." Ryder nodded and when my dads back was turned Ryder put his hands together towards the sky like he was thanking god. Which my dad turned around and slapped the back of his head making me bust out loud laughing.  Aiden leaned over toward me "Can we talk?" I nodded and got up and we started walking toward the forest. "Aiden you guys don't go to far, be careful." His dad said and nodded.
