The Harpoon castle dining hall was suddenly packed with all Foster clans. The word must have spread that the legends are challenging Lola and everyone wanted to see the historic moment with their own eyes. Shane paced back and forth, his eyes blazing with rage, while the king calmly walked next to him. “Look at that,” the king channeled his fuming friend’s attention to his very much in control wife. “You should not have done that,” Shane gritted his teeth while the king curiously raised his eyebrows. Shane did not look at all relieved that Lola was in control, which meant he knew that she was capable. He misread his anger to think he was terrified for his wife, but that was not it. “So, it is not her getting hurt that you are worried about?” “You are testing me,” Shane concluded. “Not at all, Friend. You know how many times I have been accused of favouring you over all the Foster clan heads. You also know what the presents of the Mokay means for the kingdom at large. The people are restless,” the king explained gently, but Shane was just not happy with anyone challenging his wife, no matter the reasons. “Still, she is off limits. My wife is off limits,” he declared while the king narrowed his eyes at him. “What?” Shane knew his friend too well. He was now looking at him like he said something he aught not have said. “You love her.” Shane let out a sigh and nodded. He could never deny his feelings for Lola no matter what that meant for him. “I am assuming you loved her before she was yours,” the king pointed out and Shane had no choice but confess. “Remember the girl I told you about?” The king knew exactly whom Shane was talking about. There was only one girl he had spoken about despite many throwing themselves at him. “Sniper girl who saved you?” Shane nodded “It’s her?” King Dante asked, amazed. He knew all about that day, because Shane told him about it. Shane nodded again. “It turned out that my father was killed by the same people who killed her family. She avenged her family.” “A real Mokay,” the king concluded, impressed, but Shane could not help the need to assure him that the charges against them were still invalid. “We did not cheat, I swear.” “I believe you, but you can’t execute Mike junior. He is an i***t, but I and everyone can see why he got to that conclusion. You two have a chemistry that is very hard to ignore.” “I was not planning to.” The king laughed, not convinced. “Really? You are very protective of your wife.” “She has been through a lot.” “Is that all?” “I have already confirmed that I love her,” Shane responded and ignored his friend’s mischievous expression. “Alright knight in shining armour.” “Seriously?” “For me, love is Shane.” Shane could not help but laugh the the king’s imitation of his wife. Lola might have said that to irritate Prince Ronald, but those were the sweetest words he had ever heard. Meanwhile, in the dining hall, while others were just curious to see what would happen, there were a handful who desperately wanted Lola to be defeated and die. To Lady Sofia, Sir Henri and Prince Ronald’s dismay, their most skilled and revered warriors were on the floor, defeated. To their most irritation, Lola looked like she came for a ball. Her hair and clothes remained untouched, no one would believe that she had just defeated six legends just a minute ago. They would have been convinced that Shane paid off the legends had they not witnessed the fierce fight with their own eyes. Lola was undeniably skilled, every step and strike was seamless and well executed. It was as if she knew exactly how and when they would strike and ready for it. The admiration of other Foster members as they watched Lola made them sick in their stomachs. “The Mokay! I will be damned!” Sir Henri exclaimed before shaking his head. Shane was becoming more untouchable and his hopes of snatching the throne from him were becoming slimmer. “He really found himself a Mokay,” Prince Ronald mumbled with a melancholic voice. Not only was he losing half of his wealth for his earlier outburst, a Mokay’s presence in the kingdom would make his mission to overthrow his brother almost impossible. Tall, dark, sexy as hell and always majestic in his appearance, Shane strode towards his wife the moment her victory was clear. Lola’s cheeks immediately started burning the moment her eyes landed on the sexy man confidently approaching her. She gasped when he pulled her into his arms and passionately kissed her. Lola’s toes were curled, her core already yearning for her husband when he unexpectedly placed the Mokay crown on her head. He held her tightly when she tensed until she was completely relaxed again. “Behold, Duchess Lola of the Foster kingdom and Harpoon Mokay,” it was the king who declared with a huge grin on his face. “Greetings, Duchess Lola of the Foster kingdom and Harpoon Mokay!” the guests in the hall chanted, bowing to Lola, who had no idea how much of a big deal her title was. She watched them bow again. “Greetings, Duke Shane of the Foster kingdom!” She told herself right then that she had know the Foster law like the back of her hand. The king had not said anything about Shane, but everyone in the hall knew exactly what to say and when. In the back of the hall, Sir Mike could not believe his eyes. “You are telling me that you did not know that she can do that?” he asked his son in disbelief. Lola’s abilities were obviously far from being average. He just could not comprehend how his son missed that when he dated her for years. Mike shook his head, and avoided his parents and sister’s judgemental eyes. He had no explanations for his disappointed family. He was more interested in Lola’s creative mind and innovations, which ultimately landed him on the senior manager’s position. “How did you explain her breaking your fiancée’s skull with her head?” Sir Mike inquired while Mike kept his eyes casted down. “You are either a crappy boyfriend or that Samantha bewitched you,” Sir Mike sneered before storming away. It was taking everything from him not to punch his son again. Lola would have been their key to climbing the Foster ladder had his son listened to his teachings. His own son would have been the Duke of the whole kingdom. Mike was left letting out a sigh. He ignored the constant beeping of his phone. He did not need to check, Samantha was the only person who called him nonstop. She had become the last person he wanted to talk to. He knew that she would want to know every detail of what happened in the court. He would have to tell her about the verdict that could see him executed. He was disappointed with himself more than his family was, and had no energy to talk to her. “Hey, Mike. We were just talking about you. Thank you,” one of his distant cousins shouted when he walked past. “There is absolutely nothing I can ever do in this lifetime that would make me a worst Foster. You are a legend, man!” another one added, while Mike continued walking, ignoring them. He, unfortunately could still hear them and they were right. He had become the most foolish Foster there ever was. I “You cheated, assaulted and arrested the Foster Matriarch, Duchess and the Mokay. A legend indeed,” another jumped in before they all burst out into laughter.
