Mending His Mate's Pain

Chapter 4

That morning, Blue woke up feeling a little heavy and awkward when she went down to the dining hall and saw everybody waiting for her.

"Morning, Blue", Her father, the king said to her as he went to pull her a chair.

She smiled and thank her father, she then look at the others and greeted them.

"Morning," she awkwardly greeted them with a timid smile on her face.

"How was your sleep, Blue?" her mother, who is the Queen asked her.

She cleared her throat and answered...

"I had a great sleep," she said, trying to make her voice as jolly as she could.

After their breakfast, everyone went back to their responsibilities and duties, as for Blue she just went back to her room. Sometimes, she wonders if being alone all day and having no one to talk to is the reason why she kept dreaming about those. The reason why at night, she feels suffocated and not free— well, she likes being with her real family and they are not the problem, it's just that she has been through so much. If the old her knew she was thinking like this, surely she already killed her. She just can't help but think of herself.

She has always thought of others, and she thinks that she has to think of herself for a moment. Because she knew a responsibility is waiting for her but how would she do it properly if she— herself is not in a proper state? She knows to herself that caring and loving herself first can help her erase all the doubts she has— and all those doubts she has in herself are because of her so-called 'father', she hates him for making her doubt what she is capable of. She hates him for bringing her to this state. She hates him for teaching her so many things but he never taught her how to love.

She sat on the edge of her bed before taking out the letter Gustave gave to her before his death. When she read his letter, that same day she felt loved and she knew what it feels like to be loved; but sadly he was already gone when she read his letter. She wasn't able to thank him for his love, care, and truthfulness to her.

She was taken aback when someone knock on her door, she immediately fix herself and open it. She was a little shocked when she saw her mother right in front of her door.

"Can I?" The Queen asked her, asking her if she may get inside her room. With no hesitation, Blue nods twice.

As soon as the Queen gets in, she immediately seat on the tea table which was placed right in front of her bed.

"I am not just a Queen but a mother as well, your mother to be exact." The Queen started, "what was it that keeps on bothering you, Blue?" She asked Blue as softly as she can. She then caresses her daughter's hair which made Blue blink twice. She is aware that her daughter is not used to these gestures, but she wants to make her feel that she is loved.

Blue couldn't answer her mother when she asked her if something was bothering her. She doesn't want to be a burden to them.

She was raised to be independent by her so-called father, and telling her problem is not her style. Blue would rather keep it to herself than let everyone or everybody around give her some sympathy, she doesn't want some pity.

"It was nothing," Blue said shyly but you can feel the coldness in her voice.

Her mother just looked at her trying to assure and trying to study her whether she was telling the truth or not, but of course, she knew so well how to hide her thoughts ever since she learned that Alec was just fooling her.

Blue saw her mother smile at her gently after she stared at her for a while, "Well, then I hope you are telling the truth, honey. I hope you know that your comfort will always be one of our priorities," the Queen said and Blue nods her head once.

Armund was just looking at his family, being a king of his kingdom doesn't mean he doesn't cherish all the moments with his family, his children might be going and traveling far, but he keeps his eyes on them, that's what he should do, a thing that their father didn't even do with him and his older brother Alec, unlike him Armund doesn't have any favorite in his children, both he and his wife love them equally, that's why they didn't push them to do the things like a royal, he wanted them to spread their wing on their own, he wanted them to have the freedom that they deserved.

He had learned something from his past relationship with his family, especially with his brother. with that thought, he just sighed remembering Alec. how he always saw him as his opponent in everything.

Armund was actually against when his father made him the king and made him marry the woman who was betrothed to his brother, but everything on his mind changed when he saw Silviannia, at first sight, he knew that she was made for him, but of course, he still considers his brother's feelings but after their father revelation that Alec's mother was the one who killed the queen, his mother. Armund felt rage not at his brother but at his mom, but Alec takes it wrongly.

Blue was eating when her gaze suddenly falls on her father who was smiling but she can see the bitterness and sadness in his eyes, maybe he was just missing her brother since Selenesee and Hellios already went back to where they belonged.

"Do you have something to do this afternoon, Blue?" A voice broke the silence and Blue looked from where the voice came and it was her twin sister, Red.

Blue just shakes her head as a sign that she has nothing to do this afternoon, what will she do? she knew nothing but to kill.

After eating lunch with her family, Blue excused herself and again went to her room, as soon as she was all alone inside her room, she couldn't help but sigh. She remembers the love and kindness she saw in her mother's eyes earlier. How could Alec steal the life she was supposed to have with her family? Blue can't also deny the fact that if not because of the wall she built she already cry in front of her mother.

"Stop it, Blue, there's a lot of things you have to focus yourself on." She said, convincing herself. She opens the curtain of her room, and she then looks to the left side where she saw Nicholas talking to someone. If she is being honest, she actually feels bad for Nicholas and the rest of the wolves, they may have a palace to stay in, and they may be safe in the palace of vampires but she knows those wolves still longed for their own palace. She knows that the pain her so-called father causes is still there, but the damage has been done and she has nothing to do to put things in the right places again.

Not only were the wolves got affected by Alec's devil behavior, but almost all of the kingdoms got affected, and only the kingdom of the vampire stands still after the war. Blue then saw the man which Nicholas was talking to left, she was off guard when she found herself having an eye to eye contact with Nicholas. And as the vampire she is, she never wants to cut off the stares no matter how awkward it can be. She saw Nicholas blink twice before he smile at her, Blue only nods before she closes the curtain.

"What should I do with that wolf? We are aware of our identity to each other yet I feel awkward looking at him. I'm still not comfortable with him being around." Blue murmured and that's the truth. Most of the time, she doesn't think of him most of the time not only because she is still uncomfortable with him but because she is still not open to her own mate.

She shrugs all those thoughts off her head before she decided to take rest and sleep.

Somewhere...

"Mother, have you eaten already?" she asked her mother who is looking at the nothingness.

"He hurt me, he hurt me," her mother said multiple times while laughing. She couldn't do anything but kneel beside her mom and hug her from the side.

"I'm here now, mother. No one could hurt you ever again," she whispers and continues hugging her mother as tears slowly fall from her eyes. She will never forgive those who have hurt her mother. She will make sure that those who are involved and even those who aren't will taste the bitterness of her revenge. She will make them suffer just like how he made them suffer.

He ruined everything and she'll make sure she'll ruin everything connected to him as well. She can't wait to be known by them. The day they'll know her will be the last day of their life that is filled with peace and happiness.

That man only showed up to them just to make sure they won't be a hindrance to his plan, she doesn't know why he needs to raise someone's child while she, who was his real daughter was left alone with her mother who was ill.

"No, he will kill me, he will kill us, he was mad," Her mother said as she was trembling in fear.

She knew where her fear comes from, her father, when he showed up to them at first she was happy when he firsts showed up as she grew up not knowing her father, but then her happiness turns into a nightmare, he was worst, he gave them as a slave to those other rogue vampires and let them abuse her and her mother.

How dare he cherish and raise someone's daughter when he just let her daughter be abused by those bloodthirsty vampires? and he was still not satisfied he also tried to kill her and her mother.

"Don't worry mother I will get what we deserved, and I will ruin anyone or anything that will come on my way to get what we deserve," I whisper as I calm my mother who was still trembling in fear.

And now, that man was dead, he died without even recognizing me as his daughter, no one even knew my mother and I exist, but I'll make sure the daughter he took care of for years instead of me, I will make her pay for everything that her fake father did to me and my mother...

Blue was now at the balcony of her room, she was busy watching the birds flying in the sky when she suddenly heard a schwing sound, I looked down only to see two people who were doing some sword practicing,

I just don't get why they still have to practice when they were already skilled enough. She was about to turn away when she saw a familiar figure.

It was her twin sister Red, Red went to Xerias.

Xerias was the former beta of the wolf kingdom and based on what she had heard, he was the cousin of Simeone.

Simeone is one of her brothers, well technically since he was a part of her brother, Helios's soul, still she doesn't understand how it makes sense but, yeah it's the truth.

She went back to her senses when she saw her sister and Xerias walking away from Nicholas, who was the one Xerias practicing with, she knew what was going on between them, like her, her sister has also fated to me a mate of a wolf. but unlike her, Red was not tainted, while, she was tainted by the blood of those innocent vampires, and wolves, that Alec made her kill when he was training and making her his weapon against her real parents.

I saw Nicholas look up, so I turned away and close the glass door, and pulled the curtain to cover it to avoid him.
