Selene's POV
My mouth opened, but no words came out. All I could think about was the rumour I had heard about how he had supposedly planned the k********g of Camilla’s baby to secure his own plans.
If he thought my child could be used against Victor, he would not hesitate to rip it out of me.
“Don’t let him see you afraid, Selene.” My wolf’s voice trembled. “Don’t let him see.”
I took a deep breath and tried to steady my voice. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Lies,” he growled. “Your face says everything.”
Before he could take another step towards me, Leena slipped between us again, standing tall. “Alpha,” she said quickly, her tone respectful but hard, “the test doesn't belong to her.”
Dimitri turned his glare on her. “Excuse me?”
