Emily’s POV
Over the next few weeks I continue to work with Marcus on controlling my magic. I feel like this is the most I’ve practiced magic and it feels right. I feel more connected with myself and with the mountain and the earth around me. Liam is learning to ignore Marcus and his teasing. I have been spending more time with Cyran and my mom.
I have also been learning more about the Dawn and their ways. The constant bowing is still hard for me, but I’ve tried to embrace the role I have here now.
We have heard word of the fighting between the Pures and the Seekers.
We have been getting a few refugees here and there. They filter into the outer city. It has plenty of places for them to stay. Most of them stay there. Edaline decides who is allowed in the mountain. So
