CHAPTER 6

1579 Words
For several years, I kept it to myself. I strived for perfection to mask my imperfect background. My father was a philanderer and my mother has flaws I couldn’t tell to anyone without inflicting damage to my reputation.   Reading her diary made me sleepy. I went under the quilt and drowsed to sleep. The second I closed my eyes, I was immediately lost into the dark oblivion. It was peaceful until I saw Lance Anderson.  I found him sitting at the edge and a bottle of beer was in his right hand. That moment, I was tempted to push him so he would die. Since the day I found out about his affair, I imagined killing him with my bare hands several times. A sigh escaped from my lips before I took another step to go to him.  However, my mother suddenly showed up and I wondered why I didn't notice her before. Then, it happened so fast! I screamed as loud as I could and ran downstairs to report what I saw, but then I saw my mother with a big smile while talking to her friends. What happened? Did I just imagine what I saw earlier?   My screams might be so loud because everyone gathered around me as soon I returned to the living room. “He jumped,” I lied when my eyes met with my Mom's. Then, screams began to erupt outside our residence. My mother left me and ran to see what the commotion all about is. With shaky legs, I followed her outside, and we joined the group of spectators. Our guests and relatives exclaimed their fear and shock over something horrible. “Mommy!” I called my mom when she went through the crowd to check what’s going on and her screams pierced my heart. My father wasn’t loyal to his vows. He didn’t keep his promise to stay with her till death, and yet she didn’t mind crying for him! Blood dripped from his broken skull into the ground and I ought to move away from his lifeless body. However, I couldn’t leave my mother alone, therefore, I ignored the crimson rain of death and stared at his lifeless blue eyes      It’s pathetic but my body refused to move an inch!  I began to panic until my entire being was consumed in total darkness. The people around us screamed, but my mother’s voice was the loudest. I tried moving my legs but I couldn’t feel them anymore. Everything began to feel numb so I decided to just lay down in the arms of the person who caught me before I hit the ground. After a few seconds, I tried to open my eyes, but it wouldn’t open no matter what! I asked myself if it’s a sign of death, and if it was, I didn’t want to die yet. She needed me... Not yet!  What should I do? Forgive me, father, for I have sinned, I chanted the line nonstop. “Baby! Are you going to leave me too? Please don’t,” Adrianna begged and my eyes were full of tears when I got the second chance to see her again. “Mom,” I called her in an unstable voice, and like a baby, she cuddled me in her arms. “Oh baby, I thought that you will leave me too!” She exclaimed. I smiled at her and said, “Never! Until the time when I can see you laugh again, that’s when I will set you free, Mom.” For years, the dream was the same, or I would say that it was a fragment of my memory from the past. To calm down my wrecked nerves, I aimed for my private part and rubbed it slowly. It was embarrassing to admit but I learned that whenever I rubbed myself or pleasured myself with my finger, I could relax and have peace of mind. My c******s swelled when I teased it heartlessly and a moan escaped from my lips. All of a sudden, I transformed into someone I didn’t know existed within me. I became wild while imagining someone’s hand on my wetness. I shook my head when it was Keith’s image I saw on my mind, but no matter how much I tried to imagine someone else such as my favorite actor, Keith’s face didn’t leave from my imagination. My moans became louder when I moved my finger in and out of my body and I had to bit my bottom lip when I felt that the c****x was near. I didn’t stop until I reached the peak and closed my eyes as my body shuddered in pleasure. I breathe heavily while lying motionless in my bed! Then I scolded myself for thinking about Keith Demakis! He shouldn’t be in my head but what’s wrong with me? It seemed that I couldn’t get him out of my system! After catching my breath, I went to the bathroom and took a cold shower. I needed to refresh my mind and a cold shower would help me achieve it. However, I was wrong. After an hour of being in a cold shower, the man’s image continued to linger inside my head. It was disturbing! Frustrated, I donned on something appropriate and went outside. When I descended the stair, I could hear some people talking in the living room and I wondered if my mother has a visitor. No, it couldn’t be one of her club members because I prohibited her to let anyone who’s related to the club in our residence. “Mom?” I called her to announce my presence. “Come here, Cassie.” I sauntered towards the living room where she entertained her guest, and I stood frozen in the doorway when I recognized him. I could feel my blood rushing through my cheeks when I saw the man I imagined earlier…in flesh and blood! “What are you doing here?” I asked Keith who sat confidently on our leather sofa. He even crossed his legs across my mother while having a cup of freshly brewed coffee. “Don’t be rude, Cassie!” I sighed deeply before walking away but he called my name. I turned around to glare at him because he had no right to call my name even if I shouted for his name earlier. I forced a smile for Keith but I didn’t expect that he would smile back and I was lost in his charms. I made a mental note that Keith Demakis would be dangerous for me, and I should avoid him at all cost. So what if he was the most charming man I’ve ever met my entire life? So what if possessed the most beautiful smile or smirk at the same time? His tattoos and ear piercings should be considered too, and those things were unacceptable to me. Right, I should just focus on his dirty look! That way, I wouldn’t be attracted to someone like him. “May I talk with your daughter in private?” I arched my brows upon hearing it because we had nothing to talk about! He’s a stranger to me and he should behave accordingly. “I’m busy at the moment, Mr. Demakis,” I told him and he pouted his lips. I didn’t mean to stare but his pouty lips were tantalizing to look at. “I’ll come back some other time, then.” “No! I mean, l can spare you a minute or two. Follow me please,” I decided to give it ago rather than having him again the next day. I maintained a home office in case I had no energy to show up in the office and led Keith into my personal space. Unlike my office in Jones & Anderson Shipping, the one I had at home was pink –themed. It would reflect my gentle side while the one I had in Anderson Tower was dark. It was to impose to anyone that Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Anderson was someone not to be messed with. “Come in,” I invited him and as expected he was stunned at my color choice. “I expected it to be something dark, but this? You surprised me, Cassie!” He exclaimed as if he knew that I preferred dark colors to the chic and dainty. For a moment I stared at him because it felt like he knew something about me. Whatever it was, I wanted to find out. “Have you been to the office?” “Hmmm yeah. I’ve been there several times but you’re a busy woman,” he replied. “That is correct, so you should hurry up, and tell me why you want to talk to me.” Keith didn’t respond and just stared at me. His intense gazes made me uncomfortable but I couldn’t let him catch on. Then, he asked, “How old are you when your father was murdered?”
