Alessandro's POV
"Alpha, I have the paperwork on the new transfers. Do you want me to file them?" Merrick asks.
I c***k my knuckles tiredly and stretch my legs, listening to my wolf whine. He wants to go for a run.
"Go for it," I tell Merrick while pinching the area between my eyebrows.
My beta raises an eyebrow at my ragged appearance. There is no doubt that I look like I have aged twenty more years. Frankly, I need a break from everything.
Suddenly, the door slam open as Giovanni prances in as if he owns my office. I growl at him quietly but instead of getting scared, he rolls his eyes and jumps onto the couch excitedly.
"So, I have heard that we are going to the Silver Moon Pack?" Both Merrick and I roll our eyes hearing Giovanni's question. We both know that Giovanni is more excited about potentially finding his mate than discussing rogues.
"We are." I reply slowly, straightening in my seat.
"I have heard that the alpha's daughter is very hot." Giovanni smirk.
"But I heard that she is a spoiled brat." Merrick remarks.
My wolf growled in annoyance but I ignore him. He is getting on my nerves with all the growling he is doing.
"But still, I can have a little fun." Giovanni shrugs his shoulders as if he has solved a big-ass problem.
"I am not taking you with me." I let out getting up from the chair and walk out of the room not caring if he is yelling at me to come back.
"Now that you are done with your work, can you please let me take over?" Damon asks eagerly.
"That's why I am going to the forest." I reply.
I walk into the backyard which is thankfully empty as I am really not in a mood to talk to anyone right now. Without bothering to take off my clothes, I change into my huge midnight black wolf who stands at a height of more than 7 ft. Yes, I know it's very huge for any werewolf but the male of my family has always been taller in the matter of height. So, it's not a surprise when our wolves to have great height making us look more giant and dangerous than others.
I dash into the forest while my paw hit the ground which sends a euphoria in my mind that can't be described. No matter how much stress I am under, I always find solace in running freely through green environment. After running for more than one hour, I decide to take some rest beside the pond which is not far away from the pack territory.
"Sandro..." Damon says surprising me because this is the first time he has called me by this nickname after the death of our mother.
"What is it?" I ask clearing my throat.
"I'm so glad you're letting Madison stay here." He replies.
"You are happy that is a good thing but please don't make up your hopes that I am going to accept her." I let out.
"Can we talk without mentioning about the rejection for a while?" He requests.
"Okay, I am sorry." I reply feeling guilty.
"You know I miss our mother a lot. Earlier, I did not tell anyone else, but since Ariel has gone from here, I can't seem to control my emotions. Sometimes it seems that I should leave everything and go somewhere far away so that I do not have to think so much about anything." He says making me sigh
"Do you want to leave me too?" I ask looking at the water.
"No matter how much we fight, both of us that I am not going anywhere without you." He answers with a huff.
"Father had so many expections from me since childhood that I literally forgot to think about myself. " I remark getting up from the ground.
"That's why you choose to go against father by dating a human?" He taunts.
"Damon, you yourself said that why we will not talk on this topic, then why are you asking questions about this topic?" I let out.
"Then what could be the reason for you to choose a human girl over our destined mate? Look, just because I am not leaving you it doesn't mean that I will ever accept Isabella. She can never take my mate's place in my life and my heart." That's all he says before disappearing in the back of my mind.
I let out a growl of frustration as I am not getting things done the way I want them to be. This is not the first time I am arguing with my wolf about some topic, but this is the first time that it seems we won't ever be able to agree on the same thing. He wants his mate and I want my girlfriend which is not an easy topic to be solved.
Why moon goddess is playing with my life as if I don't have any say in what I want? I know that as a werewolf I should follow any rule made by her but as a human being I think I should have some rules of my own. I have seen how my parents were never happy with each other despite being destined mate and I never want that for me.
I want to live my life peacefully and happily. That's why I have chosen Isabella because I know that she will never argue with me to change anything around the pack. But if I talk about Madison, then I am sure she will challenge every single rule as if she knows what's best for the pack members.
I haven't even accepted her and she has already started to fight with me to change one of the most crucial rules of the pack. I understand that there are many packs that let their female members fight, but this is not how things work here. However, as I have already promised Ariel I can't back out now.
"Alpha, where are you?" Merrick asks through the pack link startling me.
"I am in the forest. But why are you sounding so freaked out?" I ask trotting in the direction of my territory.
"Because your father is back from his trip." He replies in a panicked tone.
"And so what?" I ask not understanding a bit what he is trying to say.
"Ugh! Your father has seen Madison in the training area and right now they are glaring at each other. Not only that, it seems Madison is going to break your father's face if he doesn't stop insulting her." My eyes widen before I start running at full speed knowing that if I don't reach there in time, then today definitely someone is going to die between my father and Madison.
