Chapter 4: Reject your rejection

1115 Words
Andrew’s pov I looked at her, and she looked surprised. That’s not the emotion I was expecting. I thought that she would be confused and wonder what I was talking about. But there was no confusion on her. She seemed almost surprised, as if she knew what it meant. As if she knew that I was rejecting her as my mate. I mean, I did say it out loud, but to a human it’s nothing but gibberish. It doesn’t matter what her expression is because I have said what I wanted to say. Understanding a human or trying to is a waste of my precious time. I turned around to leave and froze on the spot when she spoke up. “I, Freya Jones, reject your rejection!” She said loud and clear. I turned around to look at her and she had this smirk on her face. Her face was raised high, and I watched as she played with strands of her hair. “What did you just say?” I asked her and she nodded. “You heard me, I reject your rejection.” She answered, and I looked at her, trying to read her. Does she know something? Is that why she is rejecting my rejection? I am sure she is human, that is something I know for certain, but I can’t get rid of the feeling that she knows something. But am I just overthinking this whole thing? “Why would you do that?” I asked her, and she scoffed at this. I watched as her expression went from a smirk to a frown. “Really? You hardly say two words to me, and when you do you reject me.” She said and then added another scoff. “Reject me? I don’t remember asking you out or saying I like you. So what the f**k are you talking about?” Oh, I looked at her trying to read her, but now she was like a blank page. I couldn’t read what she was thinking at all. But for a second, when she was smirking, something in me told me she knew. It felt like she knew what I meant when I said that I was rejecting. “Just accept the rejection so we can both move on with our lives. You are not my type.” I said and then put my hands in my pockets. “I get it, I am a catch and every girl practically falls to her knees when she sees,” I said and watched as she frowned. She looked at me like I was crazy, and she couldn’t see what I was talking about. “I am handsome, hot and smart,” I pointed out, and she just rolled her eyes at this. Wait, doesn’t she find me attractive? All women find me attractive, even humans, even though they don’t understand why. My Alpha Prince genes charm everyone, well they are supposed to charm everyone. “So what?” She asked me and flipped her hair. “I am also beautiful, sexy, and intelligent. It would take more than just a few muscles to charm me.” “I am not attracted to you at all.” She said and then walked towards me. I watched how she placed a finger on her lips and she pulled her hair up, exposing her neck. Gosh that scent, it keeps getting stronger and stronger as she walks towards. She placed a hand on my chest and then looked up at me. Those brown eyes, I am stuck in the middle of quicksand, yet again. It is slowly pulling me in, and I can’t seem to get away. “But, I think that you are attracted to me.” She said with a chuckle. “This is interesting, but I do have a question for you. What is Crimson Moon Pack? And what did you mean by mate? And you called yourself some kind of Prince, what was that about?” She asked me. I looked at her. Why can’t I read this girl? It feels as if she is just asking me to toy with my feelings and nothing else. Her words suggest that she doesn’t know what I am talking about but her eyes suggest otherwise. As if she is daring me to lie or give her the right answer. “I don’t owe you anything,” I said and then walked off without saying another word. Why does she make me nervous? She is a human, but it feels like she is somewhat smarter than I am. She is a lowly human, but when I am around her, I feel inferior. And it’s not because of the mate bond, it doesn’t work like that. The mate bond makes you feel like equals, and only after you have mated. If you are just mates and you don’t act on the mate bond, it isn’t a problem. But she was able to stare up into my eyes without a problem. I know high-ranking she-wolves and werewolves who can’t even look me in the eye. Hell, my cousin Niall is the son of an Alpha and will be an Alpha himself. But he can’t bring himself to look me in the eye. Then how is a lowly human able to do that? Something isn’t right about her, but what could it be? What is she really? I walked to the cafeteria and found her sitting with Niall and his friends. What are they thinking, letting a human in on their friend group? I watched how almost every guy was flocking to her like she was honey and they were bees. “Congratulations on getting a spot on the cheerleading team.” Niall said to her. “You are amazing, I couldn’t believe my eyes.” Another girl said and I rolled my eyes at this. “Well, I am just glad that you will be cheering us on. For some reason, I feel like I should really start training seriously.” Niall said, and she looked at him, confused. “Why is that?” She asked him, and he just chuckled at this. “Because I have someone that I want to impress.” He answered, looking at her with a smile. I looked around the room and realized that all eyes were on her. The boys were looking at her like she was a piece of meat, and the girls were looking at her like she was a bowl of salad. Her eyes landed on me, and she winked at me. Who the hell does she think she is? Is she playing games with me?
