Andrew’s pov
I looked at her as she was busy talking with that guy who was in the car with us.
The way she smiled, even her smile looks calculated to me. So I have a feeling that everything she does is calculated. This means that she chose to volunteer at a mental institution for some big reason.
I mean, what else could it be?
I thought she would go with those friends of hers she has been sucking up to. And now she is sucking up to some guy, but why?
I looked at her and noticed that now her eyes were on the creepy doctor.
There is something off about this man.
And I hate that she seems to see it the way I do as well.
I saw the way she looked at him the first time she met him.
I am a werewolf, so it would make sense that my senses are great. But a human noticed his aura, something even my stupid cousin of an Alpha didn’t even seem to notice.
She is dangerous, I can feel it in my bones that she is dangerous.
We got to the place, and the moment I got out of the car, that girl was already on my side.
“This sounds like it’s going to be fun, right, Andrew?” She asked me.
My eyes landed on Freya, who was talking away with that weird guy. He hardly spoke; when he was asked questions, he kept his answers short.
I mean, I do it too, but a guy like him doing it isn’t very cool. And what 18-year-old boy doesn’t like it when a pretty girl pays him attention?
“Okay, so here is just how you guys will be scheduled.” The creepy doctor said.
“David, Freya, and Andrew, the three of you will come here every Monday and Tuesday. The rest of you is every Wednesday and Thursday. Then on Friday, you will all come together.” He explained.
“Wait, you are separating us? Can’t I be Monday?” The red-haired asked the doctor.
“Don’t worry child, as I said, you will all get to work together on Fridays.” the doctor assured her.
“Are you telling me that I need to spend 3 days of this week working here?” Niall asked, and the doctor nodded.
“Doctor, can’t I swap days with Mary?” Freya asked, and I looked at her.
What the hell is she thinking?
It feels like she is planning something, but I can’t tell what with her actions. Her actions sometimes seem so random that I find myself completely confused. Is there even a way to figure her out, or what she is planning?
Hell, is she even planning something, or am I just paranoid now?
“Well then, I also don’t mind them changing.” Niall said as he looked at Freya with a smile.
“What the hell is this?” I asked, and all eyes landed on me. “Your indecisiveness is annoying. First, you joined a different team, and then suddenly wanted to join this team. And then you wanted to get on that car, and she wanted to change cars.”
“It’s starting to get on my nerves. The schedule has been set, and that is it.” I said firmly.
The werewolves slightly bowed their heads to show that they understood.
Freya looked at me with a smirk as if she could tell that I just gave them a command.
“It’s okay, doctor, I have changed my mind. I am okay with the schedule,” the gamma’s daughter said.
“Okay then, let me show you around,” the doctor said.
He showed us around the place and we will be helping in the kitchen, garden, and sometimes we will be allowed to talk with patients who can hold a conversation.
It wasn’t just the doctor, but even the place as well was creepy. There was this aura around it. I don’t know how else to explain it, but something was seriously off with this place.
It was the kind of feeling one would get when they visited a haunted house when they were young. Or every time you went to the cemetery alone at night. It felt like that, as if I was walking inside some haunted how that was built on top of a cemetery.
“No offence, but there is something really creepy about this place.” Niall said as he was busy looking around.
“Well, that makes sense, son. A lot of people have died in this hospital, I believe their souls are roaming around looking for closure.” The doctor said, and then chuckled.
“Don’t be scared, I am just joking. There is nothing to be afraid of,” the doctor said, and I heard Freya chuckle.
“Don’t tell me you are scared of a few little ghosts,” she said, looking at Niall, who started acting all macho.
We went back to school and continued our classes as normal.
After that, I didn’t go straight home, but I went to keep an eye on Freya. All she did was talk on the phone with her friends, she studied for a while, and then turned in for the night.
I couldn’t clear my thoughts, because one moment I think she knows something, and the next I doubt myself.
So instead of going home, I went to the lake.
I sat there for some time just enjoying the fresh air.
As I was there, I caught a scent of a couple of rouges who were trying to sneak in.
I don’t care what happens to the humans in this town, but as the Alpha Prince, it’s my job to keep our secret.
So I ran towards their direction, but as I started getting closer to them, the scent of blood hit my nose.
I ran faster, but what was confusing was that there was no one else there.
Were they fighting among themselves or something?
As I got closer, I found the rouges I was coming after on the ground. They had scratches all over their bodies, and they were slowly dying. But these aren’t enough to kill a werewolf, so why are they dying already?
I blinked for a second, and the next thing I knew, an arrow hit me on the shoulder.
I looked up at the tree in the direction the arrow was coming from.
And a person was standing there, wearing a mask.
I know those masks. Those are the masks that are worn by supernatural hunters.
The arrow that hit me on the shoulder disappeared, and suddenly, there were three slashes where the arrow had hit me. As if I were injured by a werewolf, I couldn’t move at all.
The arrow was laced with wolfsbane, which explains why those three are dead.
The person on the tree got up, and I looked at the way she walked.
I couldn’t see her face or eyes behind that mask, but I could feel her gaze.
There is no mistaking it, that’s Freya behind that mask.
I knew you weren’t just an ordinary human.
