The yipping sounds of wolves fill the air as they follow my wolf deep in the forest. I come to a stop, and Nick comes to take my place in leading the run.
He rubs his face on mine, and I feel his comfort and support.
I wish we didn’t have to do this now. This is our first moon run. It should be a time of happiness, and success for our pack. But there is a dark cloud hanging over us…over Deni and I. We have to deal with so we can move on with our lives.
I shake off the gloomy feelings trying to take over my wolf's body.
I need to believe that everything will be alright.
I run back to the house, thinking about Deni and what is about to happen.
Cain said the goddess was behind all this. I have to believe that she will come through before things go too far.
