Lexi POV
The following day, Dane had to go to another out-of-town visit, one of those long rides. He could not let the trip cancelled at the last minute as this had been postponed many times already. Even though he was getting worried about his mom, he chose to leave.
“I’ll work on Mom’s case while on the road.” He said before leaving. “I’ll call an investigator. You know, Mom, must be playing a bad prank on me now that she can’t have what she wants.”
“Do you want me to do anything? I could help call people.” I offered. I would be left again and I had nothing to do alone in the apartment. I had to something, right?
“Babe, you had a stressful week. You have to rest.”
“Haha. That’s funny. I have the whole day to myself. I am sure to have more than enough rest without you here.” I huffed
