Elise POV Having that b**ch show up outside our home is making me uneasy. I pushed thoughts of her out of my head, so I could enjoy spending time with Louise and Carl, but as soon as they were gone the worry returned. They took Emmy for a sleep over so I don't even have her night routine to take my mind off of everything. I know Loreli is obsessed with my husband at this point, but how unhinged is she? Will she try to hurt me or Emmy? Strong arms wrap around me from behind as I put the last dish in the cabinet. "I'm so sorry, Elise. You will never know how sorry I truly am. Everything that's happening is my fault. The fact that you have been standing here for the last five minutes just holding that plate in your hand lets me know your mind is lost in this mess I've made," he says. I turn in his arms and lay my hands against his chest. His muscles bunch under my touch and my focus goes to the smattering of chest hair that is exposed from his unbuttoned dress shirt. My eyes move to his, and he gives me a knowing smirk. He knows how much I love his body. Now isn't the time for that so I focus back on what he just said. "Morris, I know that despite your stupid choices you never meant to hurt me. I also know you didn't betray me. The crazy b**ch's behavior is not your fault." "I feel like there is a but coming. Do you want to tell me what you were just thinking about so intensely" he asks. "It's not so much a but as much as fear. I hate the thought of her being outside our home. I know I can handle myself, but I worry how desperate she really is. I worry about Emmy." "I actually wanted to talk to you about that" he says, leading me into the living room. When I go to sit on the couch, he scoops me up and sits down with me on his lap. "Elise, I have been worried about exactly what these three witches have planned. After talking to my mother I have a feeling that these three are going to continue to be a problem. I can't help the smile that spreads across my face when Morris mentions his mother. I'm not usually a person that enjoys the pain and fear of others, but seeing the fear in Loreli's eyes at what Louise said made me really happy. "You are thinking about what my mother said to the conniving b**ch aren't you," he asks smiling. "Yes, I've never loved your mother more than I did the minute she told us what she said." Morris throws his head back and laughs. "She has definitely become more of a bad** since she dealt with my sperm donor" he says. "I still can't believe she threatened to have Carl kill her the same way he killed Louise's sister and that he would find a pig farm to make sure she is never found again without batting an eyelash. Even when she repeated it in front of Carl, he just shrugged. Did he really kill your mother's sister?" "No, but not because he wouldn't have. The b**ch had already shot him trying to get to my mother. My stepbrother Graham is actually the one that killed her," Morris says. "How the hell did I not know this?" "It's not exactly normal dinner conversation, Elise. Besides, I hate even thinking about everything that my mother and Briar went through because of Cynthia, Lucy, and Trey" he says. I press a soft kiss on his lips, hating how much pain a man that should have protected him and his mother caused my husband. "I'm just as worried not about Loreli but about that crazy b**ch Jules. After everything my mother told me at lunch today, I have a feeling she is an even bigger threat. Having said that I called Bruce this afternoon" he says. "What exactly did she tell you about the woman?" Morris proceeds to tell me about all that Louise said. Bile rises in my throat. Just when I think that Trey couldn't be any more of a monster, he proves me wrong. This woman isn't innocent. She knowingly screwed around with a married man, but no one deserves what happened to her. Morris places his hand over my heart, bringing me out of my thoughts. "Do you know how amazing you are?" I look at him confused. "I just told you about all that crazy b**ch did, and you still feel sorry for what my father and grandfather put her through," he says. "I may feel bad that she lost her child but the moment she started threatening my family all my sympathy for her died a quick death." "Agreed, that's actually why I called Bruce. I want you and Emmy to have security until the three witches are dealt with." I want to protest because I hate the idea of being followed around by a stranger, but my fear of what these three women are capable of doing, especially when my daughter is involved, wins out. "I'm not as worried about myself as much as I am about Emmy, but I don't know if I'm comfortable with a stranger around her, even if Bruce vets him." "First, I'm worried about you just as much as I'm worried about Emmy. Second, Bruce is going to set up a meeting with whoever is assigned to you and Emmy. If we feel even a little uncomfortable, we will ask for someone different," Morris says. "Alright, but what about you? You are the one that ended up in the hospital. Maybe you should have someone with you and don't give me that sh*t about being a big strong man because Derrick has security all the time." He smiles and presses a soft kiss on my lips. "Elise" he starts to say, but I cut him off. "Don't Elise me. I don't want to have to worry about you either. Hearing that nurse say you were attacked was a feeling I never want to experience again." He tightens his hold on me and I lay my head on his chest. "Fine, if it gives you peace of mind, I'll ask Bruce to assign someone to me too" he says. "Thank you" I say. Without warning, he stands with me in his arms. "Morris, what are you doing?" "Taking advantage of being alone with my wife," he says and practically sprints down the hall toward our room. I squeal when he throws me on the bed. For tonight I focus on spending quality time with my husband. Loreli POV "What the hell do you mean you're scared" Jules asks. "Morris's mother said her husband killed her sister and would do the same to me if I didn't leave her children alone. She had this weird smile on her face when she said he would feed me to the pigs. Who says something like that? I swear she wasn't just saying it to scare me Jules. She really meant it." "Don't be dramatic, Loreli. You should be more afraid of me than you are of her. There are things that are worse than death, and you don't want to find out what those things are. Stop being a baby and just do as I tell you," Jules says, sending a shiver down my spine. My eyes meet Melissa's before I look back at Jules. "I don't understand why you are so angry at Morris. He seems like a really nice guy and he's rich. If his wife hadn't f**ked everything up, I could have made it into his bed by now. Now that I've been banned from his office, making that happen is impossible." "You are not walking away from this Loreli. I'll admit not having daily access to him makes things more difficult, but nothing is impossible. Do you still have the picture of his schedule on your phone," Jules asks. I nod handing her my phone. She's scrolling when a wide smile spreads across her face. "Looks like he has dinner with a potential client in two days at the Yellow Flower. Even if we can't get him to f**k you, we can make it look like he did. This time we will make sure there is enough photographic evidence, even his wife won't be able to believe him" she says. "Jules, he is never going to willingly be with me now after everything that's happened." "Who said anything about willingly" she says. I again look at Melissa, who has stayed quiet this entire time. "Jules, I know you want to hurt Morris but how on earth do you think we can force him to do anything?" "You let me worry about the details. Just make sure you have a new dress and lingerie for the occasion," Jules says before she leaves. Once I know she's gone, I turn to Melissa. "What the f**k is going on, Melissa? I agreed to break up the man's marriage but I'm not going to jail for anyone. What she is talking about is illegal? I won't r*pe the man for god's sake." "I warned you before you agreed that Jules would stop at nothing to make Morris McNair pay for what his father had done, and you were on board. You better put your big girl panties on because this isn't over until Jules says its over," Melissa says before she gets up, leaving me alone with my thoughts.
